Unique 1900s Hotel Rooms with a dorm room feel. Located just off Main Street across from the Main Street Mall Plaza and only blocks from the Mountain Bike trails.

Serpent Lake and Crosby Memorial Park are a quick walk away.

Rooms are located above the Spalding Bar, so there is noise... especially on weekends. I repeat, it can get loud! Please do not book this room and then give a bad review because it was loud! It can be loud!

Ear plugs, a diffuser with sound and a fan are provided.

The space
The Spalding House is a three story building built in 1910.

The main level houses the Spalding bar which has been in this location from the beginning.

We have repurposed the majority of the original 1900s hotel rooms into hostel rooms on the second floor.

Our third floor houses our full-time residents and laundry facilities.

Room #19 has original hardwood floors. Rooms were small in the 1900s. #19 has one single bed and a chair and sleeps one person.

Guest access
There is a common room with a tv, refrigerator, pizza oven, toaster and microwave. There are usually some snacks and beverages there as well.

Bathrooms are shared and there is one on each side off the hallway.

Other things to note
We allow bikes to be brought to rooms as long as you take them to the Mall Plaza Park across the street and wash them. We know what iron ore does to fabrics!

Rooms are located above a bar, so there is background noise... especially on weekends.

We provide earplugs if you are sensitive to the noise.

This is a private room for up to 3 people, in a Lodging House. The room has a Queen + a Twin. There may be a couple of other guests staying in the other 2 rooms on this floor so we ask everyone to use common courtesy as there are some shared spaces. This large old brick and mortar building used to be a first National Bank. Now it’s a quaintly decorated lodging establishment, great for a weekend or traveling for work. I have been hosting on Airbnb for a few years and this is my fave.

The space
The room is on the ground floor close to the exit. All of our accommodations feature private rooms but w/ shared spaces, such as lounges, kitchens, laundry facilities and there are 3 bathrooms in this house.
