- "Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly on arrival. Hotel was lovely and clean and the view from our room over the River Thames was amazing. Room was a good size. Very luxurious. Excellent access to the O2 Arena which makes getting into the arena and exiting at the end of the night so much easier and quicker and just a very short walk from the hotel The only thing that we were disappointed with was the quality of the room service breakfast. We ordered porridge and toast. The porridge was lukewarm and had no flavour, tasted like it had been made with water and quite a small portion. There were no extras to go with the porridge so very bland and overpriced at £7.00 (i.e. fruit, maple syrup etc) We also ordered toast which arrived very floppy and tasted like cheap wholemeal bread - this was £4.00. But we also had to pay £5 Room service charge and 12.5% tip, so a very expensive breakfast that was not very good quality, very disappointed for this type of hotel. We wouldn’t have minded paying this amount of money if the food had been better quality. So, all in all we would definitely stay again at this hotel but would not use the room service. "

- "My family stayed in a 2-bedroom suite that also included 2 baths and even a kitchen. Everything was just perfect. The service just couldn't have been better, from the minute we arrived until we checked out. The staff just bent over backwards to accommodate any request, but they even seemed to anticipate our needs before we had to make a request. An example: I arrived with a slight medical problem (turned out to be nothing). The concierge brought up to our room a "home remedy" that her grandma used in the past! How sweet is that? Rooms were spotless and well-stocked. We were welcomed with a plate of fresh fruit as well as fresh flowers in the room. There was plenty of FREE bottled water in the room (when does that ever happen these days?). We loved and appreciated every single minute of our stay at the Taj. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in London."

Light and bright double room facing out over national trust land, River Thames & trainline,so there will be some noise from trains, 5 mins walk to Tilehurst station one stop from Reading. The walk up to the house is a steep slope & at present there are no steps.

Check in through the week is 5.30pm, at weekends this can be earlier and can be discussed at time of booking/enquiry.

The space
This is a double room with orthopaedic mattress and very comfortable (advised by previous guests). The room is a double bed for 2 people only.
There is a spa in the garden throughout the Summer only for guests to use.

In order to keep costs down I will no longer be supplying towels for 1 or 2 night stays

The heating is on a timer through the winter and is on from 6am-7am and 4.30pm - 11pm daily. Heating will not be on all through the night. Happy to put on if guest is willing to cover additional costs.

Our charming Bramble shepherds hut sleeps two people and is set in a beautiful orchard in rural Herefordshire. The hut is dog friendly and situated on a working farm so you'll see lots of animals including cows, pigs, chickens and ducks.
