A delightful single storey cottage to sleep 4 plus one small dog with patio garden and private parking. Situated in the pretty village of West Burton in Wensleydale with views to open fields and stately Penhill from the patio. Enjoy West Burton with its pretty waterfall, perfect for wild swimming and large village green. Great village shop and butchers and sometimes the Smithy Antiques is open for business. Wonderful walks from the doorstep even to Aysgarth Falls.

The space
The much acclaimed village of West Burton boasts a large, sloping green at its heart but arrival and departure from the green is through two narrow roads known as Front and Back Nooks. In the Front Nook Hazeley Cottage, a delightful cottage for four, stands elevated from the roadway viewing down the road and towards the lower slopes of Penhill with the village green and Cauldron falls around the corner, just a moments walk away. The cottage is a single story dwelling and was originally the coach house for The Mount which is one of the grander adjacent houses overlooking the green. It has been recently renovated and provides a high standard of accommodation.

Access from the road is up five small steps to a patio garden which runs the full length of the cottage. Alternatively there is also a separate vehicle and level pedestrian access to a private parking area to the rear of the cottage which also serves three other properties and is linked to Hazeley by a private, wide gravel path. The patio garden is perfect for sitting in the sun and gazing at the wonderful view from the lower patio.

There are two entrance doors from the patio, one to the dining room and the other, preferred entrance opening to a stylish, well-equipped kitchen with everything needed for family catering. To the left of the kitchen is a dining room which in turn leads down two small shallow steps to a comfortable lounge with an electric stove, oak flooring and a large bow window with window seat which views over the patio, down the nook and also over the fields to the lower slopes of Penhill.

To the right of the kitchen a hallway with a cloak hanging area gives access to a bathroom with bath, overhead shower, washbasin and toilet and two bedrooms, one with a super king bed, which can be made into two singles if you prefer, and a bedroom with twin beds.

A lovely cosy cottage bordering a long patio garden which is a beautiful sun trap, just perfect for those alfresco wine and dine evenings. The rooms are quite modern in concept but uphold the traditional with oak doors and a blend of oak and pine furniture mixed with antique items. West Burton is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and is a great base to explore from with easy access to many footpaths that cross the dales and a good centre for travelling around the Dales National Park and beyond by car or by bicycle too!

Come and enjoy a peaceful stay in the depths of the Devonshire countryside. Orchard Keepers Cottage is within our small holding which was previously an award winning cider farm. Perfectly situated near Holsworthy with only a 30 minute drive to the beautiful North Devon coast. Our surrounding area is full of hidden surprises with lots do to for everyone. From beautiful walks along the many footpaths and bridleways, cycle paths and Cookworthy Woods to rambles across Dartmoor National Park.

The space
Orchard Keepers Cottage is a self contained, self catering cottage kitted out to a modern and high standard. It comprises of an open plan kitchen/dining/living area with underfloor heating, a wet-room bathroom comprising shower, basin and wc (situated on the ground floor) and an upstairs vaulted bedroom with king size bed leading onto a private balcony with views to die for. A magical place to enjoy the view or just star gaze. Given we‘ve no light pollution here, the skies at night are incredible.

There is a lovely walk down to our private lake which guests have exclusive fishing use of (we operate a catch & release system). Guests must have their own rod licence and tackle. This is our private lake, we are not a fishery.

Various benches are dotted through the walkway to the lake, one in the old orchard allowing a restful perch to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet overlooking the alpacas. Another situated at the lake with a firepit nearby for toasting marshmallows on those chillier evenings, or even a bbq in the summer. If you’re lucky you might even see deer in the fields along with the odd bird of prey.

Our animals include horses, alpacas, chickens, cats and dogs. We love our animals and happily welcome well-behaved dogs to stay with you in the cottage (maximum of 2 dogs per stay). We do ask guests to keep dogs on leads around the animals and pick up after them accordingly. All horse and alpaca fields are out of bounds to guests but do feel free to say hello to them over the fences. However, we do ask guests not to feed the animals without us present, please.

The cottage has a small patio area to the rear of the property which has its own BBQ with table and chairs. BBQ equipment is supplied as part of the equipped kitchen but not BBQ briquettes or coal.

Guest access
Orchard Keepers Cottage is located at the end of a short track with no passing traffic with ample parking for your vehicles in our large gated driveway at the front of the cottage. Guests have access to the complete cottage, orchard, lower field, fishing lake and small area of woods. Our own back garden, stables, barns, yard, sand school and fenced off animal paddocks are private to the home owners.

Other things to note
During your stay, there are many local attractions and beautiful places to visit. These include day ticket fishing at Anglers Paradise (just 0.7 miles away), golf, sailing, walking, cycling, archery, canoeing and SUP. If you like exploring, there’s plenty to see such as Launceston and Okehampton Castles, Dartmoor National Park and the Tarka Trail to name a few.

If it’s coasts you prefer with those gorgeous, rugged shorelines, then Bude is only 25 minutes away by car with it’s amazing coastal paths and stunning views. The sea pool is free and can be used all year round (located at Summerleaze beach, Bude). Other beautiful coastal areas are Widemouth Bay, Crackington Haven, Clovelly, Westward Ho and Instow. Slightly further afield but only about an hour and a half away by car in Cornwall you can find Padstow, Polzeath, Port Isaac, Wadebridge, Boscastle and Tintagel.

If you fancy something different to do, then we highly recommend Dragon Archery which is only a 5 minute drive from the cottage (booking in advance directly would be necessary). It’s a brilliant experience for any level of expertise and its not weather dependent.

For those looking for a more relaxed thing to do, Gotland Gin offers distillery tours and taste experiences. Their venue is stunning and the perfect setting to sit back, enjoy the breathtaking views whilst sipping one of their award winning gin & tonic’s. Delicious!

The space
The Plough Wheel is a quintessential Norfolk brick & flint cottage, nestled in the quiet coastal village of Kelling. Packed with charming traditional features, including beamed ceilings, pamment floors and a wood burning stove. The cottage has been renovated for modern living with a beautiful open plan living space, two bedrooms upstairs with a family bathroom and funky mezzanine floor upstairs open into the eaves, creating an additional living space for kids to hang out or for grown ups to catch up on a few emails.

This is the ideal cottage for couples or families to enjoy a relaxing holiday and create wonderful memories together.

Approached via an unmade road to the rear, The Plough Wheel has a lovely enclosed courtyard garden leading into the main living space. This spacious, yet cosy room has a comfy sofa and armchairs arranged around the wood burning stove, a dining table and chairs and a fitted kitchen to the rear.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, the family bathroom and mezzanine room. The principal bedroom enjoys lovely open countryside views through two large windows to the rear, with a lovely king size bed, chest of drawers and hooks for hanging clothes. The second bedroom has twin 2ft 6 beds, ideal for children, a chest of drawers, TV and a window looking out to the front of the cottage.

The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over, WC and basin.

Accessed from the landing, up a short flight of paddle stairs is the mezzanine room. A great space with a day bed, TV and work desk and views out over the countryside through three Velux windows. Please note, the paddle stairs do not feature standard stair treads, so care must be taken with little ones (and older ones!) when going up and down.

Outside

There is a parking spot for one car at the rear of the cottage and a pretty enclosed courtyard garden with outside dining furniture and a BBQ to enjoy al fresco meals in the warmer months.
Nestled in the pretty coastal village of Kelling, there is a tea shop just a few minutes walk away and easy walking distance to the pebble beach and coastal path or out across open countryside and heathland.

A modern cosy barn conversion in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the fringe of the Blackdown Hills and Jurassic coast ANOB. The Nest is Grade II listed and the property is believed to have been built over 500 years ago during the reign of Henry VIII.

Entry is up some stone steps to the first floor where a small well equipped kitchen area is located and also the dining and seating areas. Down the stairs from the kitchen area is the bedroom with generous cupboard and drawer space and a comfortable double bed. There is a modern bathroom with a shower and toilet and under the stairs there is a washing machine.

There are 7 acres of land, which guests are welcome to use, and many walks on the doorstep.

Other things to note
Four of the seven acres are traditional wild flower meadow that guests are welcome to enjoy. We also keep chickens, sheep and bees. When the chickens are laying, guests are welcome to purchase fresh free range eggs. There may even be some honey too.

Little Cleave is an ideal place to get away from it all. The 2 bedroom cottage has all the modern conveniences in a rustic setting nestled in the Devon countryside. Guests can enjoy the indoor, heated pool/sauna year round. There is a games barn with table tennis air hockey, etc. There’s also the option of just curling up by the log burner with a good book. Or going for a wander in the fields where you might spot any number of birds. You won’t see an owl until late in the evening. Family owned.

Little Cleave is one of 3 cottages at East Underdown. The property used to be a working farm but is now exclusively holiday accommodation. Conveniently located just 3 miles from the A30 dualcarriageway. 2 miles from Drewsteignton. 3 miles from Chagford. 15 miles from Exeter.

Other things to note
The 3 cottages @East Underdown were converted into holiday accommodation in 1997. They were built in the mid 17th century. and we’re part of a working farm into the late 20th century. The cottages continue to be owned and maintained by the same family with long time Devon roots.
