You will love our clean 4 bedroom/2 bath cottage as much as we do! The home is located in a quiet sub right in downtown Port Austin. Fully stocked with everything you need from pots and pans all the way to a beach supplies. Relax and have dinner on our deck or have cocktails on the front screened porch - both with lake views across the road (not directly on water). Walk to the Farmer's Market and restaurants in town, Paks Backyard, kayak rental, marina, Glen Royal Wedding Venue and the State Harbor in minutes. Bird Creek Park and Beach and splash pad are right in our neighborhood. Literally walk everywhere!

Our property offers an 1,100 sq ft chalet style lake house with 50 ft feet of private beach front on pristine Lake Huron. The house has all the comforts of home while still maintaining that "away from it all" feeling that you've been longing for. It features an updated full bathroom, a fully stocked kitchen, 3 bedrooms with all new queen size mattresses, new trundle beds for the kids, and air conditioning. The lot is almost 350 ft deep so there is plenty of room for the kids to run around and parking for up to 2-3 vehicles depending on their size. We have a swing set for kiddos for enjoy when not on th beach. We are located adjacent to M-25, on a private dead end road; no need to worry about traffic with small children. The house is located conveniently half way between Caseville and Port Austin. The house is also within walking distance from a convenience store and 1/2 mile from a Public Oak Beach Park and boat launch. This house is designed for 1-2 small families. No all adult parties.

Our boys are 2 and 3.5 and they loved walking the beach, there is a mini turnup rock with an amazing open sand and shallow water area and they could run free! The house was perfect for our family and was so nice each boy had their own room. Clean, stocked with all your kitchen needs and the owners were always there with a quick response to anything you had questions on. This rental is a work in progress. Many updates inside and out including central air . We do have 4 unadvertised RV sites on the same property, 2 are full time seasonal sites.
We have a quarry that we have been working on to clean up and deepen, so there might also be an excavator on site and I never know when he'll be there, he's a super nice guy but his equipment is loud, he is not there all the time. There's a nice patio with chairs overlooking the quarry to enjoy and relax.
Please please please keep an eye on your kids! Lots of water around you here..
There's 1 large community fire pit or a small more portable one if you'd rather be more by yourself.
Just bring your personal items and you'll be ready to start your vacation. Includes cable/Xfinity streaming box, (please bring your own passwords for the different streaming sites), and internet. Sheets and towels. Sleeps 4 comfortably, (but does include a full size pull out sofa and a regular couch), 1 queen, and 1 full sized bed.
Kitchen is fully stocked with full sized fridge, range, microwave. Pots n pans, dinnerware, towels, storage bowls etc. (Minus a vegetable peeler, I'm told lol.) You may have to bring your own plastic wrap and bags, foil or whatever favorite items you may need to make your stay more comfortable. We have a couple charcoal grills on the property for your use.
Pet friendly, (with restrictions). Please clean up after your pet and leashes are a must.
We do have city water delivered in a large tank, not many wells in our area.

This spacious Grindstone City beach house can sleep up to 18 people in beds. With 8 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and almost 5,000 sq ft you can have large groups without feeling all packed in to one small space. The main level has the master bedroom with attached bath and entryway to living room that wraps around to the large dining room area which is over looked by the oversized kitchen and the entry way leading from the driveway.

There are 4 bedrooms upstairs with a full bathroom that has the shower and toilet area that is separated from the double vanity by just closing a door. Each room upstairs also has its own wall mounted mini-split so you can separately set your AC/heat to your liking. 3 of the 4 rooms all have their own flat screen smart TV’s as well. This upper level of the house is also where the laundry room is located. This home just finished up remodeling in early summer of 2022 with having a vacation rental property in mind therefor making everything thought out with all our guests needs in mind.

The lower level/walkout basement is kind of like a 3 bedroom 1 bath house itself. This spacious fully finished basement has an open concept living room/kitchen area with round dining room table in front of the big bay window and sliding glass door looking out to the beautiful views of Lake Huron. The full kitchen amenities include matching stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dish washer. Just out the sliding glass door is the lower level patio area that is covered by the deck/patio up above. This is where the large flat top Blackstone grill and propane BBQ are located for easy cooking with the open concept kitchen and basement living room just a few steps away.

This beach house has not only our own private natural sandy beach but also a huge spacious back/side yard with a camper/RV power hook up on the pole barn/garage if some of your group would like to stay in their camper in the side yard and still plenty of yard space. A major bonus that we just had custom built in the back yard is our Tiki Bar and two fire pit/gathering areas perfect for the entire family to gather around for some s’mores and a bon fire.

With so much to do in neighboring Port Austin just a short 5 min car ride away there will never be a dull moment. You can rent a kayak and paddle to Turnip Rock for beautiful views or check out one of the biggest and fun farmers market in Michigans thumb area. If you would rather be out on the big Great Lake Huron you can bring your own boat or jet skis as we also have our own boat slip for our guests to use. There are also many different fishing charters that dock in the marina as well. What is very cool about having the fishing charters so close you can see their haul for the day and what they bring back while sitting on our deck. They measure and cut the fish right across the street as well and when you do catch fish on any of the charters you can take it directly next door at the Days On The Lake and they will cook it up to serve it to you for dinner.

The entire house and garage are available for guests to use. The only area we keep locked is a supply closet upstairs and a utility room in the basement. Everything else is included for guest use. We also have a boat slip in the marina just a few step walk across the street for guests to use if they bring their own boat or jet-ski’s.

I am available before, during, and after a guests stay on my cell for guests to text/call anytime.

Grindstone is home to many of the serious charter boat captains and fishing enthusiasts. Salmon, lake trout, steelhead, walleye and small mouth bass are just a few varieties of the fishing opportunities. Port Austin is rich in history and offers a spectacular view of the Port Austin Reef Lighthouse. Turnip Rock is located in Lake Huron just offshore and is one of the great natural wonders of Michigan. This charming village also boasts one of the largest Farmers Markets in Michigan.

There is plenty of parking in our driveway or in the neighboring state park that is just right next door. You can drive into port Austin only a few minutes away and they have things e bikes you can rent to get around town with among many other fun things.
Events & Pets are only allowed with prior approval from management. A special event fee & pet fee will be determined if approved by management & will be based on a situational basis.

Welcome to the Grindstone Schoolhouse LLC.

This historic building was built in 1906 and fully remodeled in the 1990s into an inn with 5 private bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom (or two)! At nearly 10,000 sq ft total, the areas are very spacious and perfect for your large group to gather.

The top floor Master Suite has a new King mattress, a twin bed, his and hers bathrooms, and it’s own kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker. The bell tower extends from the Master Suite and has a futon and a great view of the countryside.

On the second floor you’ll find four large bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Two of the rooms have two queen beds and walk-in kitchenettes with a seating area. The other two bedrooms have one queen bed each. Every room has a TV, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee pot.

The Main floor features an 1100 sq ft Great Room, fully equipped kitchen, and dining room/den. There is also a half bath and laundry room. The finished basement has a TV, pool table, air hockey table, foosball table, dartboard and poker table.

Outside there is a wraparound deck, fire pit, and lots of room to run around!

The Grindstone Schoolhouse is located 4.5 miles from downtown Port Austin, MI, and just a half-mile from historic Grindstone City.

The property has expansive beach with the water easily accessible via a short stairway at the boathouse. Swimming is excellent. The beach size varies with changing lake levels. Caution should taken, particularly with small children. During the summer higher waves can rise quickly..

This is a year-round home, designed for relaxation and special times. There’s a fully equipped kitchen (w/refrigerator, stove, microwave & coffee maker), cable TV, and wi-fi. The main floor has 2 bedrooms, one a spacious master bedroom with a split king bed, the other a roomy guestroom with full size bed. A full bath hosts twin sinks and tub/shower combination with grab bar. The lower level walkout provides direct access to the lakeside lawn. With four bedrooms, five bathrooms, two living rooms, large kitchen, private beach, stunning sunsets, and stocked fire pit this property offers a large family or two families an unrivaled place to unwind. Paddle in the cool waters or bring your Kayaks and follow the bay around to the Port Austin town center. Sit by the waters edge of an evening eating smores or quietly read under the shade of Pergola . A local restaurant half a mile away can also supply pizza and bar style food. One and a half miles into the village there a multiple places to eat.

Inside the house three of the bedrooms are ensuite. An upstairs second living room can be a place to play cards, games look over the lake. Full laundry facilities make life easy and a kitchen with all the mod cons allow you to dine in and eat around a family table for 10.

Leave your worries behind for the summer while staying at the Five Oaks Circle Lake House on the Bay. The two-storied house has 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms and comfortably sleeps 8 adults and 5 children with over 3000 square feet. Multi-level decks lead down to an enclosed gazebo, where you can have meals, play games, or gather to chat. Lower deck leads down to expansive green lawn, perfect for hammocks, lawn games, and volleyball. Outdoor shower provided to rinse sand off, Private beach provides fun for adults and children alike. Boating, canoeing, kayaking and swimming can be enjoyed at the beach. In the evening, enjoy a campfire on the beach with the provided fire ring. Beautiful sunsets and many nights of star gazing. Truly an opportunity to relax and unwind.

There is a $600 damage deposit, and a cleaning fee of $300.00 per stay. No housekeeping provided during rental time.

Port Austin is 2 miles from the house, an easy walk or bike ride into town. There you can find restaurants, grocery, novelties, kayak rentals, and artisan shops. Be sure to hit the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays during the summer months, to pick up your local cheeses, fruit, vegetables, antiques, and artisan wares.
