You will love our clean 4 bedroom/2 bath cottage as much as we do! The home is located in a quiet sub right in downtown Port Austin. Fully stocked with everything you need from pots and pans all the way to a beach supplies. Relax and have dinner on our deck or have cocktails on the front screened porch - both with lake views across the road (not directly on water). Walk to the Farmer's Market and restaurants in town, Paks Backyard, kayak rental, marina, Glen Royal Wedding Venue and the State Harbor in minutes. Bird Creek Park and Beach and splash pad are right in our neighborhood. Literally walk everywhere!

Our property offers an 1,100 sq ft chalet style lake house with 50 ft feet of private beach front on pristine Lake Huron. The house has all the comforts of home while still maintaining that "away from it all" feeling that you've been longing for. It features an updated full bathroom, a fully stocked kitchen, 3 bedrooms with all new queen size mattresses, new trundle beds for the kids, and air conditioning. The lot is almost 350 ft deep so there is plenty of room for the kids to run around and parking for up to 2-3 vehicles depending on their size. We have a swing set for kiddos for enjoy when not on th beach. We are located adjacent to M-25, on a private dead end road; no need to worry about traffic with small children. The house is located conveniently half way between Caseville and Port Austin. The house is also within walking distance from a convenience store and 1/2 mile from a Public Oak Beach Park and boat launch. This house is designed for 1-2 small families. No all adult parties.

Our boys are 2 and 3.5 and they loved walking the beach, there is a mini turnup rock with an amazing open sand and shallow water area and they could run free! The house was perfect for our family and was so nice each boy had their own room. Clean, stocked with all your kitchen needs and the owners were always there with a quick response to anything you had questions on. We will be patiently be waiting for dates to open up, so we can book next year!"

Welcome fishermen, hunters, and kayakers! Fully furnished Mobile home located directly across the street from Grindstone Harbor boat launch on Lake Huron.
This rental is a work in progress. Many updates inside and out including central air . We do have 4 unadvertised RV sites on the same property, 2 are full time seasonal sites.
We have a quarry that we have been working on to clean up and deepen, so there might also be an excavator on site and I never know when he'll be there, he's a super nice guy but his equipment is loud, he is not there all the time. There's a nice patio with chairs overlooking the quarry to enjoy and relax.
Please please please keep an eye on your kids! Lots of water around you here..
There's 1 large community fire pit or a small more portable one if you'd rather be more by yourself.
Just bring your personal items and you'll be ready to start your vacation. Includes cable/Xfinity streaming box, (please bring your own passwords for the different streaming sites), and internet. Sheets and towels. Sleeps 4 comfortably, (but does include a full size pull out sofa and a regular couch), 1 queen, and 1 full sized bed.
Kitchen is fully stocked with full sized fridge, range, microwave. Pots n pans, dinnerware, towels, storage bowls etc. (Minus a vegetable peeler, I'm told lol.) You may have to bring your own plastic wrap and bags, foil or whatever favorite items you may need to make your stay more comfortable. We have a couple charcoal grills on the property for your use.
Pet friendly, (with restrictions). Please clean up after your pet and leashes are a must.
We do have city water delivered in a large tank, not many wells in our area.

This spacious Grindstone City beach house can sleep up to 18 people in beds. With 8 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and almost 5,000 sq ft you can have large groups without feeling all packed in to one small space. The main level has the master bedroom with attached bath and entryway to living room that wraps around to the large dining room area which is over looked by the oversized kitchen and the entry way leading from the driveway.

There are 4 bedrooms upstairs with a full bathroom that has the shower and toilet area that is separated from the double vanity by just closing a door. Each room upstairs also has its own wall mounted mini-split so you can separately set your AC/heat to your liking. 3 of the 4 rooms all have their own flat screen smart TV’s as well. This upper level of the house is also where the laundry room is located. This home just finished up remodeling in early summer of 2022 with having a vacation rental property in mind therefor making everything thought out with all our guests needs in mind.

The lower level/walkout basement is kind of like a 3 bedroom 1 bath house itself. This spacious fully finished basement has an open concept living room/kitchen area with round dining room table in front of the big bay window and sliding glass door looking out to the beautiful views of Lake Huron. The full kitchen amenities include matching stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dish washer. Just out the sliding glass door is the lower level patio area that is covered by the deck/patio up above. This is where the large flat top Blackstone grill and propane BBQ are located for easy cooking with the open concept kitchen and basement living room just a few steps away.

This beach house has not only our own private natural sandy beach but also a huge spacious back/side yard with a camper/RV power hook up on the pole barn/garage if some of your group would like to stay in their camper in the side yard and still plenty of yard space. A major bonus that we just had custom built in the back yard is our Tiki Bar and two fire pit/gathering areas perfect for the entire family to gather around for some s’mores and a bon fire.

With so much to do in neighboring Port Austin just a short 5 min car ride away there will never be a dull moment. You can rent a kayak and paddle to Turnip Rock for beautiful views or check out one of the biggest and fun farmers market in Michigans thumb area. If you would rather be out on the big Great Lake Huron you can bring your own boat or jet skis as we also have our own boat slip for our guests to use. There are also many different fishing charters that dock in the marina as well. What is very cool about having the fishing charters so close you can see their haul for the day and what they bring back while sitting on our deck. They measure and cut the fish right across the street as well and when you do catch fish on any of the charters you can take it directly next door at the Days On The Lake and they will cook it up to serve it to you for dinner.

The entire house and garage are available for guests to use. The only area we keep locked is a supply closet upstairs and a utility room in the basement. Everything else is included for guest use. We also have a boat slip in the marina just a few step walk across the street for guests to use if they bring their own boat or jet-ski’s.

I am available before, during, and after a guests stay on my cell for guests to text/call anytime.

Grindstone is home to many of the serious charter boat captains and fishing enthusiasts. Salmon, lake trout, steelhead, walleye and small mouth bass are just a few varieties of the fishing opportunities. Port Austin is rich in history and offers a spectacular view of the Port Austin Reef Lighthouse. Turnip Rock is located in Lake Huron just offshore and is one of the great natural wonders of Michigan. This charming village also boasts one of the largest Farmers Markets in Michigan.

There is plenty of parking in our driveway or in the neighboring state park that is just right next door. You can drive into port Austin only a few minutes away and they have things e bikes you can rent to get around town with among many other fun things.
Events & Pets are only allowed with prior approval from management. A special event fee & pet fee will be determined if approved by management & will be based on a situational basis.

Welcome to the Grindstone Schoolhouse LLC.

This historic building was built in 1906 and fully remodeled in the 1990s into an inn with 5 private bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom (or two)! At nearly 10,000 sq ft total, the areas are very spacious and perfect for your large group to gather.

The top floor Master Suite has a new King mattress, a twin bed, his and hers bathrooms, and it’s own kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker. The bell tower extends from the Master Suite and has a futon and a great view of the countryside.

On the second floor you’ll find four large bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Two of the rooms have two queen beds and walk-in kitchenettes with a seating area. The other two bedrooms have one queen bed each. Every room has a TV, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee pot.

The Main floor features an 1100 sq ft Great Room, fully equipped kitchen, and dining room/den. There is also a half bath and laundry room. The finished basement has a TV, pool table, air hockey table, foosball table, dartboard and poker table.

Outside there is a wraparound deck, fire pit, and lots of room to run around!

The Grindstone Schoolhouse is located 4.5 miles from downtown Port Austin, MI, and just a half-mile from historic Grindstone City.

The property has expansive beach with the water easily accessible via a short stairway at the boathouse. Swimming is excellent. The beach size varies with changing lake levels. Caution should taken, particularly with small children. During the summer higher waves can rise quickly..

This is a year-round home, designed for relaxation and special times. There’s a fully equipped kitchen (w/refrigerator, stove, microwave & coffee maker), cable TV, and wi-fi. The main floor has 2 bedrooms, one a spacious master bedroom with a split king bed, the other a roomy guestroom with full size bed. A full bath hosts twin sinks and tub/shower combination with grab bar. An open stairway provides access to a lower level with an additional guestroom with full size bed, full bath with stall shower, and family room with TV and full-sized pool table. The lower level walkout provides direct access to the lakeside lawn. No air conditioning, but you won’t miss it with fans in every room, the lake steps away, gentle breezes, and room to spread out with a good book in the shade. Linens are provided.

The property is accessed via a short, wooded lane providing seclusion from the road, and shares the driveway, a boathouse deck and 140’ of private lakefront with the neighboring cottage, also available by the same owner. The house sits within 5 miles of Port Austin and Port Crescent State Park, one of Michigan’s few Dark Park Preserves. Guests are encouraged to keep night lights to a minimum as star gazing opportunities are truly exceptional.

In Oak Beach during the summer months at Huron County Nature Center there are interesting educational sessions on various Michigan wildlife, which is great for kids. They also have beautiful trails.

Paddle in the cool waters or bring your Kayaks and follow the bay around to the Port Austin town center. Inside the house three of the bedrooms are ensuite. An upstairs second living room can be a place to play cards, games look over the lake. Full laundry facilities make life easy and a kitchen with all the mod cons allow you to dine in and eat around a family table for 10.

Lower deck leads down to expansive green lawn, perfect for hammocks, lawn games, and volleyball. Outdoor shower provided to rinse sand off, Private beach provides fun for adults and children alike. - "I loved everything about our stay, except how hot it was in the house, I would bring extension cords next time to run the box fans they provided. The outlets didn’t seem to be in places I needed them to be. I loved how close we were to the beach, the kids and I walked the beach one evening and came across a park with a playground! My kids were 4 & 2.5 years old. I was able to do this trip without my husband who couldn’t get off work to join us. When you park they had yellow wagons to help transport all of your belongings to your house (which was such a blessing as it was just me with two kids who can’t help) but my son was able to pull the wagon which he loved. I was nervous about how the parking was right next to the road (50mph speed limit) with my two toddlers but we managed. Everyone their was so friendly and the sunset and views were amazing. They did have beach toys out for my kids (we brought our own though) and it was nice they had chaise lounges on the beach. I would definitely come again and now I want to buy a beach house right near where the bungalows were. It was a perfect halfway point from port Austin and caseville."

We have remodeled The Vintage ONE from an 1950's roadside motel. The rooms are smaller than average rooms but the furniture and accessories are all new! The location is just across the road from 2 beach accesses and right next to Walt's Meat Market and Grocery, some of the best meat in the Thumb Area! Our unit is located directly between Port Austin and Caseville.
The sands of Lake Huron are beautiful white sand and the water in the summer time is warm and perfect for evening swims! Or just go out and watch the sunset while the water laps the shore.
Our little unit is perfect for a couple to come get away and enjoy the outdoors. We've got a new TV to stream movies if a Netflix and Chill night is in order.

Little Yellow Cottages consist of a block of six one and two bedroom cottages, located in Downtown Port Austin. They are perfect for those that desire activity and comfort. Across the street, you will find the Port Austin marina, beach, and pier, as well as Port Austin’s seasonal Farmer’s Market. The cottages themselves are ideal for both small groups requiring just one cottage, or larger groups needing more room, yet seeking the privacy afforded by the individual cottages.
Each of the Little Yellow Cottages feature a screened in porch with seating, a living room with TV & soft seating, a full kitchen (plates, bowls, utensils, pots/pans, etc.), air conditioning and/or heat, and a private bath with shower. Cottages are available in both one bedroom and two bedroom configurations and can accommodate up to six guests. Outdoors you will find a fire pit, outdoor grills, and picnic tables and chairs. Boho Cottage

We are conveniently located between both Port Austin & Caseville. The cottage is 2 rooms w/ a kitchen and bathroom. The front room has a trundle bed that pulls out & sleep 2, as well as a queen bed in the main room/ studio vibes. The cottage is located in a very quiet neighborhood across from the lake access path leading to Lake Huron. It’s a quiet peaceful place to read a book, fire up the grill or head into town for some local ice cream. We are pet friendly for approved dogs.

The space
Quiet boho cottage offers a great yard to sit and watch the day go by. There are two lake access easements for you to sit and enjoy the beach. Both have posted signs at the entry. We provide chairs, umbrella and beach towels for you to enjoy.

There are two lake access- easements on the street. One is conveniently located kitty corner from the cottage (gravel path), the other is located at the far end of the street where you entered Shore Dr (sand path). Both are posted with white signs. You are allowed to set up chairs in the easement and relax on the beach. You can also freely walk the beach in both directions. Enjoy your beach time.

Other things to note
Garbage day is on Monday, please put out any bins Sunday night for pick up at the curb.

Additional wood for bonfires 🔥 is located behind the garage.

When checking out - stripping sheets and putting all used linens / towels in a pile is greatly appreciated.

The space
Located 2.5 miles from Port Austin, the Acorn Cottage is nestled among several oak trees and sits on the edge of Lake Huron. The studio loft sits back from the lake, and is above the completely remodeled one car garage and provides an extremely comfortable 384 square feet of living space. A large picture window overlooks the green lawn street side and well manicured gravel road while the small front deck provides a glimpse of beautiful Lake Huron.
The private sitting area has outdoor lounge chairs, a bistro table, access to the bbq. grill, outdoor aluminum two person tub, and semi-private outdoor shower.
Home to a quiet private neighborhood with private beaches accessible only to the association, these are a short five minute walk from the cottage.

In Oak Beach during the summer months at Huron County Nature Center there are interesting educational sessions on various Michigan wildlife, which is great for kids. They also have beautiful trails.

In Port Austin you will find a variety of wonderful restaurant options and lovely little shops! At PAKS you can rent kayaks and take an adventure out to see the famous Turnip Rock! On Saturday’s they hold a wonderful Farmers Market!

The space
This is one of four condos in the historic Wallace Mills (Gristmill).

The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, coffee cups & glasses. There is a microwave oven, coffee maker and toaster. An outdoor gas grill is also available for use.

This unit is nice dog friendly for a fee of $20 per night.

Located 2 miles from the village of Port Austin, this Guest Cottage has a private deck, lake views and private beach access. My family has been spending the summer here since 1949; the garage/ guest house was added in 2000 and is outfitted w/ the original, hand made knotty pine furnishings. The kitchen is outfitted with pots & pans, silverware, dishes and glassware. There is also a washer/dryer located within the unit for your convenience. We welcome your 4-legged family members, as well!

In the process of being renovated, The Sun & Sand Resort, is perfect for your next visit to the Thumb! This roadside motel features 16 rooms, a two bedroom apartment and a three bedroom house, providing you with a plethora of accommodation options! Modeled after 1950s Palm Springs, we hope to provide a unique stay for you and your guests. Our property features an in ground pool, outdoor activities, grills and a fire pit. You can also take advantage of our beach access right across the road!

The space
Due to being under renovation until late April, we do not have any photos of the accommodation yet. The floor plans and mood boards are to give you an idea of what the layout and furnishings will be like. These are not an exact replica of the accommodation.

Pool:
The pool is heated and open seasonally from late May (Memorial Day) through early September (Labor Day). It remains closed from September through early May.

The space
We call our place: Star Forest Stay. The main and guest bedroom doors are pocket doors with privacy glass that do not lock. There are skylights in the main room and bathroom above the shower.
The main bedroom has the shower area inside a private entrance bathroom that can be shared with other guests.

Amenities: You’ll have access to a full kitchen with additional amenities including a full line of spices and herbs, an assortment of oils, a knife set, a popcorn maker, a blender, a small food processor, a coffee grinder, an espresso machine, a vegetable spiralizer, a kitchenaid mixer, a pastry board and baking sheets, a cast iron skillet and a full set of non-stick select pans by calaphon, and a donut maker. We also have a fire pit and 3 burner outdoor BBQ grill with utensils located in the kitchen. There is no dishwasher on site. Please contact us with any questions you may have if you’re not sure how to use.

A/C: We have automated A/C units in the main room and laundry room that can cool the whole place. We also have floor and ceiling fans to circulate the cool air in the space. We have found that the units can cool the space down to about 72 degrees on a 90 degree day.

Water: This place runs on well water and a septic tank. We have recently installed a water softener with Culligan water and it is great for washing dishes/laundry and showering. We will also have a 5 stage filtered water faucet at the kitchen sink.

The Forest: our 6 acre forest bumps right up to Port crescent state park. We have groundskeepers that upkeep the land between guests. Please use the “pack it in, pack it out” method when staying here. That means, no alcohol bottles thrown from the back porch or cigarette butts flicked anywhere within our area.

The main floor is accessible with what we have listed. Please do not enter the crawl space. There are also specific drawers in the home that are locked and labeled for housekeepers only.

Other things to note
Important: Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Truvi. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process.

We use Truvi as part of our guest screening process. Your application must have the primary guest name on the reservation, and your background check must be completed 48 hours of receiving your booking confirmation as per State and City law. Your booking is NOT confirmed until these requirements have been fulfilled. Once the reservation is confirmed, and to check-in, guests must sign a Rental Agreement, stating that they agree:
- to abide by our rental terms and conditions;
- to provide a copy of a valid government-issued ID and matching credit card prior to check-in
- to pay non-refundable damage waiver via Truvi, which will cover you for any accidental damage during your stay

Please note that once you have booked, your booking confirmation will include your Truvi booking validation link. The validation process includes a Security Deposit + ID verification.

We use Truvi to collect a fully refundable deposit (+ non-refundable admin fee) that covers any accidental damage caused during your stay.

Upon pre-approval, you will have two choices:
A $15 admin non refundable admin fee + Refundable damage deposit of $500;
Or
a $35 non-refundable admin fee for a $500 damage waiver.

You may choose either one.

Attention: If using American Express, you will need to make other arrangements with Truvi to use a different credit card to book and pay for this deposit. We will not ask for a deposit through Airbnb as it goes against the guidelines we have set forth with Truvi.

We take our reservations in high regard. If you decide not to work with us to get approved through Superhog and this is a last minute booking, we will not accept refunds beyond what we placed under our listing cancellation policy. This is how we protect our assets and reservations.

Sauna: There is also a wood-fired traveling sauna @pondrsauna that is potentially on site while you are staying here. When on site, it is available to rent. Feel free to reach out before your stay date for a discounted sauna add on with your stay. The owners may also be coming to pick it up if the traveling sauna becomes rented. We will contact you if the sauna gets rented to coordinate an arrival to come by and pick it up.

Hunting: There is no hunting allowed on our acreage. Please be advised that this cabin is not considered a suitable space for dressing the game you hunt. We consider this cabin a retreat space to relax.

As a remodeled Motel, the space is very cozy. Queen beds were not common in the 50's but we put a new comfy one into the main bedroom. We have a bunk bed that has a Full sized mattress on the bottom and a twin on top in room two. Our ARTICLE brand couch bed folds out for that extra guest or family member. The Vintage has a full kitchen for you to cook in with signature meat's from Walt's Meats next door or warm up something quick before you head out to the beach!

Our home consists of 1,100 square feet along w/ a game room garage. All furnishings & blinds are brand new & custom designed to distinguish our home from its competition.

We have a living room with 2 pull out full size sofas & a chair. Enjoy streaming on a Roku 65” television from our beautiful electric fireplace.

The kitchen is fully stocked and includes a dining area for your convenience.

Open the doorway from the dining room to find your own private deck with outdoor seating for six.

Our home includes 2 bedrooms w/ queen mattresses & ample storage for your stay.

There is 1 full bath & 1 half bath that have been remodeled.

We also have a washer & dryer for your convenience.

For your enjoyment, you are only a 4 minute walk to a beautiful public beach easement with serene views of Lake Huron! Our home is also only a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive from Veterans Waterfront Beach, the State Harbor & downtown restaurants & shopping.

We have a game room in our attached garage w/ bar ledge & stools. A 65” television with Roku to watch your favorite shows, movies & sporting events is wall mounted above.
