Super Private Custom Built Home on 388 acres.

This is a one-of-a-kind vacation rental because of the level of privacy and the large piece of property that is exclusively yours to use and explore. You will have the entire property (388 acres) all to yourself to enjoy. note- (occasionally the landowners may be staying in a cabin at the other end of the property about 3/4 of a mile away but this does not disturb the privacy or quietness of the house) . The house is a beautiful custom built home with hardwood cherry floors, two large redwood decks, four bedrooms and two baths, a family room, living room, dining room and is in one of the most beautiful locations that you can imagine. It is like renting a park without any other people. Located in the redwood belt you can enjoy miles of trails along cascading streams and little waterfalls that run through fern covered redwood forests. Swim in the pond, bike or hike along the trails, (kids can catch crawdads in the pond). The quietness of the property is truly amazing and is like nothing you will find anywhere else.

Have an undisturbed family reunion in one of the most beautiful pieces of property that you will ever visit.

The custom built home is well maintained and has many homelike qualities. There is a gas barbeque for entertaining. A beautiful creek runs past the front of the house and two ponds are on the property. One of the ponds is only 100 feet from the house. There are numerous species of wildlife including hawks, owls, pond turtles, river otters, and great blue herons to name a few.

There are two decks, one is covered and faces the pond and the other faces a meadow with 250 year old oak trees. The kids can pitch a tent in the adjacent meadows and explore the forests and creeks while you lay in the hammock among the oak trees.

This rental is as close to a wilderness adventure as you can get without actually having to rough it.

Please no electric vehicle charging since we are off grid and our system can’t handle it.

Holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Labor Day Fourth of July etc) are charged at normal summer rates and may have longer minimum stay periods.

- "Art was super nice and helpful! The property was gorgeous with redwood trees all around it and the house was fully stocked with anything you need kitchen and laundry wise. We swam in the pond and it felt surprisingly clean even though it’s a pond. Long drive in with gravel parts, but fun nonetheless! Lots of activities to do around the house such as frisbee golf, hot tub, rope swing, and hiking trails to name a few! The wifi worked perfectly and you could stream movies on the tv easily. Overall loved our stay!"

This is private property on a 40-acre ranch.

The guest house is two levels, three bedrooms, and one bathroom, the bathroom does not have a sink. The guest house sleeps seven people with one queen size bed and six twin size beds. The guest house has a small kitchenette with a microwave and dorm size fridge, an outside grill is available for cooking. Dinnerware and flatware are also provided. Free Wifi internet is available.

Very clean. The guest house and the bathroom have been sanitized with government-approved cleaning products before each guest's arrival, to protect against the Covid19 virus.

There is a wood stove for heat and we provide the wood. There is a window air conditioner that keeps the house pretty cool.

Amazing home with over 4700 Sq Ft of space for your group! This place is suitable for weddings, business receptions or just a nice get away! Situated on 10 acres, this fantastic home is full furnished for your vacation use! Dramatic rooms with painted domes in the downstairs makes your feel like you are in another world! 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths for your use. There is a huge master bedroom on the first floor. Lovely courtyards with fine plantings and walkways complete the Redwood Glen Castle.

There may be someone staying at the Apartment at the Castle. Please greet them! The other people may be in the apartment above the 3 garages. It will not where you will stay.

Enjoy the Redwood Glen Castle! I hope you come back! We have people that have come to the Redwood Glen Castle three times! It's very spacious! Five bedrooms 3 1/2 baths. Game table top in the family room for poker with chips. One bedroom has bunks in it with a bathroom shared with the king room upstairs. You have to go through another room to get to the bunk room.

- "We enjoyed the Redwood Glen castle on August 18 through the 20th of 2023. Our motorcycle club was amazed at the beautiful castle courtyard and the spacious parking area outside. The three car garage space was also great to park 8 Harley‘s in it. all of the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. These guys said that the sleeping accommodations suited us with there being eight individual beds. Very clean kitchen and bathrooms. We enjoyed the courtyard at night, sharing some beers and drinks. A great Get away after riding all day up the California coast. if we ever think of going up that way again, we will look into renting the Redwood Glen Castle for sure . Thank you, Richard G."

Happy luxury home in the Redwoods. Curl up on the deck with a book by the fire pit while listening to the bubbling brook. Or stay inside and enjoy the view of the redwoods though floor to ceiling cathedral windows. Play pool by the fire downstairs or curl up and watch a movie next to the fireplace in the living room. The trails are right outside, lined with flowing brooks, and many varieties of mushrooms. Golf and frisbee golf are a block away. Two lakes are just a ten minute stroll away, one is stocked with trout for fishing. This lovely home is just what you need to reset.

- "4 days in Willits for business I decided to stay in this wonderful home instead of the normal motels in town. Jennifer is a great host and was very easy to communicate with. This house has everything you’ll need for any type of trip. The A/C worked very well in every room and the internet was flawless. The main room has such a relaxing vibe with the floor to ceiling glass, slider out to the main deck and the redwood trees. The kitchen is well equipped and open to the main room. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all clean and comfortable. The pool table room was an awesome addition. There are some great hiking trails right out the door that we explored a little but not nearly enough. This is a great rental and I will be looking to return here whenever I’m in the area. "

The space

This large four bedroom, three bath custom built home centers around a two-story open floor chef's kitchen/living room- overlooked by a balcony level entertainment/pool table room. Large windows in open room, primary bedroom, bath and upstairs bedroom along with deck and hot tub open to southern exposure, with spectacular views from other bedrooms as well.

House has a two story bedroom with large, sturdy wood bunkbed with full size mattresses, plus a ladder and railing to loft queen mattress. Primary bedroom with king Tempurpedic bed has glass sliders to heated outdoor shower (no shower in separate master-bath) and a new free standing bathtub with beautiful views from bay windows plus 7 person hot tub with views outside near bedroom sliders. We added a small four foot deep saltwater unheated pool off the front deck (24’x12’), perfect for cooling off all day and gazing at the lovely views down the valley at the surrounding the wooded mountains ringing the valley.

The house is surrounded by several fully deer fenced acres with gates perfect for pets to explore and run.

There is a tetherball court on grass near the house, along with a horseshoe court.

The large deck with dining tables overlooks part of the valley floor with a massive, ancient and gnarled Valley Oak tree (largest oaks in the US) with a netted tire swing where push your children or lie back yourself and swing while looking up at the sky through the tree. Nearby on the property is a winter seasonal creek bed with a small 50’ zipline accessible and suitable for children.

The house is gated down a long private driveway with fencing providing privacy from the private road shared by only a handful of similar large property out of sight homes.

The house is off-grid solar powered with a large biodiesel/diesel backup generator for use if daily solar power energy gets depleted. Home has new radiant floor heating. Wood fireplace is available for use during wet season.

Kitchen is equipped with massive custom chef's stove along with brand new high end, farmhouse basis sink, refrigerator, built-in dishwasher, drink fridge, concrete island with separate sink, along with new kitchen cutlery etc.

Guest access
Guests are required to remain on the 50 acre property during their stay beyond driving in and out of the property along the association’s shared private road and are not allowed to explore the private roads of the association which are others’ private property and we are not authorized to drive or walk along.

Other things to note
Mendocino county requires a 11% hotel tax (ToT+BID) be collected on all stays shorter than 31 nights. Host will collect this tax separately.

- "But the owners should consider having it professionally cleaned. The windowsills were filthy and had dead bugs on them. The dining table had something sticky on it. The floors may have been vacuumed but definitely were not mopped. Every single light switch was dirty. The fridge had funk and fingerprints on it. And the heater in the master shuts off if you try and set it any lower than three. So you get pretty warm or no heat at all. And downstairs is just the fireplace for heat. Was not explained in property description. Just said heating and fireplace. And internet went out 1st night so we couldn’t use the tv. Owner is very nice and responsive but doesn’t have an eye for cleanliness."

Casa Avena sits on just under ½ acre on this quiet street with only 6 neighbors. Lots of sun and wildlife all around us. We share the property with the does and their fawns, yearlings and 2 year olds. At night there are a billion stars.
The room is small with a ceiling fan, one window overlooking the back lot, a small closet and dresser. There is a small antique desk that you may use. The bookshelf is full of books which you can feel free to peruse. This room is adjacent to my other Airbnb room which may also be occupied. If it is, you and the other guest will share the full bathroom.

Escape the city and find peace and quiet in the village of Willits. Studio North is situated in a charming and quiet neighborhood. The street is wide and beautiful with a series of TALL redwood trees right out your front door. Lot of quiet, beautiful walking areas nearby. Orchard and herbal garden in your private area with a separate private entrance. Ample parking on our safe village street just outside your gate.

The comfortable queen size bed is ready for your arrival, plus additional single bed can be added upon request.

Easy access from 101 and the downtown Willits live music scene, pubs, local shops...located right in town, 2 blocks from many restaurants.

Willits is the gateway to the redwoods, just north of the wine country and 1 hour to the Mendocino coast. Open roads and fresh air beckon guests to explore our country valley. Brooktrails Golf course is just 5 minutes drive, you can play disc golf among majestic ancient redwoods.

Visit the unique shops in the historical part of town just 2 blocks away, take a local tour of some private and amazing 420 agriculture in season, or curl up with a book under the grape arbor. In downtown Willits, within 5 minutes walk, there are cafés, shops, Skunk Train, a historical museum, live theater, hiking trails, and several lovely parks. There is always something to do and see in Willits. It is a friendly town, people stop to visit on the street.

Centrally located for day trips around the area. Drive north to the massive redwood trees on the Avenue of the Giants, ride the famous Skunk Train, find wine tasting all around, or take a short drive to the Pacific Ocean and the quaint village of Mendocino. All these experiences are close by.


The Neighborhood
The west side of Willits is the oldest and historical area of our little valley. This beautiful section of town is a quiet place to stroll and admire the variety of architectural styles, from stately Victorians to charming Craftsman bungalows. It is a sweet pretty neighborhood a few minutes from downtown.

Other things to note
The no-flush toilet does not waste fresh drinking water with flushing. It is almost like a regular toilet - easy to use, and the wave of the future for you to check out today! Instructions for use are simple. I will explain further before or after booking.

Quaint little guest unit in walking distance to the Skunk train depot and downtown Willits. It has its own private fenced in yard as well as a large shared patio area. It is a studio lay out with a cal king bed and a sofa bed. Has a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. On the property we have ducks and chickens. (They are free range, so watch your step) Pet friendly, however there is an additional $10 fee.

The laundry room is available to you during your stay. However it is shared with my family of 6. If you are interested in using it during your stay please communicate with me and I will make sure to have it cleaned out and available to you. Thank you.

We are still in construction mode in back yard. There is dirt and wood shavings in the yard entering the building.
