- "Great stay, peaceful and romantic " - "Booked and paid for my stay 3 months I'm advance. When we went to check in, the people at the check in hut acted like I never paid. When I tried to show them my receipt, they said it would be okay and they would contact Expedia. Told us it was because we booked too far in advance we were having these issues. FYI they didn't check with Expedia, they just decided to double charge me. When I called to complain about being charged a 2nd time. I was told not to book thru Expedia next time and that if I called them directly they would match Expedia's price. I had to call them twice to receive my refund. And when I called the 2nd time I was told this was an Expedia issue, which it wasn't since I paid directly with Expedia. The overall vibe of Sankoty is so underwhelming, it will truly disappoint. The tent is nothing special, you can see cost savings at every turn. Basic toiletries are not included in the glamping tents. It may look peaceful online, but the reality is that your tent will stare at a golf cart trail, houses and the sound of traffic can be heard all day/night long. Also, definitely are treated worse when booking with Expedia. The first tent we were given was by far the worse tent. Tent 1, right next to the road. Also didn't have working A/C. When we told the office people about the issue, the office lady told us we would be getting a much nicer tent. A tent that is reserved for people who book on their website. What A Joke."

- "Everyone was so gentle " - "Friendly staff, organized camping layout and have kayak tours " - "Stafff was great. Campground was ok but turned into a party zone at night. Music screaming yelling slamming doors constantly. I ppacked up and left for a hotel at 1 am. Party on both ends was going strong. "

The Pines is a two bedroom, one bath, open living, dining and full kitchen area. As with Buck & Bass Cabins, there are various sleeping configurations. All beds are adult length beds, even the THREE LEVEL Twin XL bunks. The king bed can be configured to make two Twin XL beds if you desire. The living area couch makes out into a comfortable queen size bed. All sheets, plates, glasses and cooking utensils are included. The Pines is the largest of the three cabins. The interior finishes are very nice with a rustic flair. To view the type of interior finishes used view the listings for Buck Cabin and Bass Cabin. The exterior is log siding and green metal roofing. The cabin itself is the largest of the cabins to date at 660 square feet. The deck is also the largest to date. In addition to the covered front deck there are two sun decks totaling almost 400 square feet of deck. Again as with the others there is an outside fire pit, picnic table and swing.

Nearby is Buck Cabin a one bedroom, fully furnished cabin. Also near is the Bass Cabin a two bedroom fully furnished cabin. Any two or all three make for the perfect family reunion. All are Seasons Lodge properties. If none of the Cabins are available try Seasons Condos. The condos are fully furnished and only one mile away on Rend Lake Golf Course. All of these are Seasons Lodge properties and available on VRBO.

- "Very nice" - "The location was perfect for hitting trails or parks around Shawnee but also Carbondale as well! Hosts were super friendly and easy to get in touch with. Camper was very clean and nicely set up, they also had very friendly dogs who came and gave us company as well. The trailer was very comfortable, classy and well appointed, and relatively spacious, sleeping six adults without too many problems, aside from the trailer rocking when people moved around which the owners said they'd hopefully try to fix. The property was very large and quiet, with a lake, dock and plenty of space to walk around and hike, but also not too far from stores and other local places. The owners were super helpful and communicative throughout, coming by to visit often and making sure our stay was excellent; we did have a few minor hitches with finding the place and a few lights and drains as this was there very first time renting the property, but they were very prompt at resolving them and should make sure they don't happen again.Owners had two dogs and two cats, who were all very friendly and we all enjoyed playing and hanging out with.Overall, highly recommended and would not hesitate to stay here again!"

Come stay at our floating oasis on the backwaters of the Mississippi river! This 70 foot houseboat is newly remodeled and ready for you and your guests. It features a custom kitchen, a master bedroom with a full bed and a tv, a bunkhouse room with a full bed, and a basement bedroom with 2 full beds. The living room has a trundle couch that turns into a king-size bed. We also have a full size air mattress.
The boat is located at Millennium Marina.

You will have to walk on a dock to get to the boat. Things are a little different than a typical "home", but its super fun! The roof may NOT be accessible at all times of the year (like when it is super cold, raining, or snowing). If there is ANY snow at all, we ask you DO NOT go on the roof, as it can be dangerous.
NO EVENTS OR PARTIES ALLOWED AT THIS TIME.

We provide a coffee maker, toaster, stove, oven, and other kitchen items. We also provide one towel per person, and all bed linens (sheets and one cotton blanket per bed).
The 70 ft roof is equipped with a bar and outdoor furniture. Remember, you are DIRECTLY on water, so you WILL see bugs and other wildlife.
We also have boat slips available by the night or by the week. One uncovered slip is provided with your rental. We provide a coffee maker, toaster, stove, oven, and other kitchen items.

- "Seriously such a fun place to hang out for girls weekend! We had a blast and enjoyed that there was a bar onsite in case we wanted to go (which we did 😉) Water was too shallow for slide which was probably a good thing so we just tied tubes to the boat to float or just plopped chairs down in the water. ONLY down fall was it had a sewer smell to it when we first walked in but by the end of the weekend, we didn’t even notice (or we just got use to it) we definitely want to come back though!"

- "Will be back." - "Stayed at the Tipi for two nights while I was in Vienna for Tunnel Hill 100. The bed was comfortable and the Tipi was warm and comfortable.The heated blanket was a definite plus! The outdoor campfire area and walkway was lit with string lights giving it a cozy feel. Host was extremely friendly and welcoming. Your camper is located at Old Bates campground approx 5 minutes from Rend Lake and all it has to offer. There's a shower house and coin laundry for your convenience.
Your camper has a large covered deck, gas grill, fire pit and a couple of lawn chairs. Apartment size refrigerator, microwave and camper style stove. Coffee maker k cup style, pots, pans, plates, basic cooking utensils, silverware and drink ware are provided. With plenty of room in your yard for activities and to park your boat.
All you need to bring is your toiletries. Sorry their is No smoking and No pets allowed in camper.

This is an experience many would call "glamping", or glamorous camping. Please read the listing thoroughly to understand the layout of the boat, bathrooms and accessibility. *We are in nature. Expect spiders, webs, ants, bees, mosquitoes or other usual lake house critters. You'll see lots of chipmunks, squirrels and bunnies around and wake up to the birds chirping, too!

*The beach is accessed by a large set of outdoor stairs- about 35. See photos for reference.

*There are security cameras on the parking lot, beach and piers for safety and rental boat purposes. No cameras are on/in any of the rental units or outdoor yard spaces.

*The pier is made up of floating docks and can be wobbly when the lake is busy. The lake is very busy on the weekends and more calm on weekdays.

*This is a no pets property. Any reviews that reference pets are for a property we no longer rent.

- "I didn’t stay on the houseboat we left and got a room. There was no running water or bathroom on the boat. The toilet and shower was a distance away. This is something that should be disclosed on VRBO site just so people can be aware of conditions. The water was very choppy and we were unable to relax too much noise from boat hitting against the dock I guess that’s what we heard. I expected some movement but it was wayyyy too much."

The Yacht sleeps up to 4 guests with two bedrooms (one queen, one room with two small twins), a queen sized futon, a dinette that converts to another queen bed, one bathroom*, a kitchenette, and living space.

The Yacht sits on the gorgeous shoreline of Petite Lake, which is part of the Chain O'Lakes. Sitting atop the yacht, the sunrise from the east is breathtaking. Mornings on the lake are peaceful and serene. By the afternoon, the lake becomes active with boats, fishing, and beach fun.

The beach and large rooftop deck provide different places to relax on land with plenty of free amenities. The rooftop deck overlooks the lake and has comfortable patio furniture, a grill, griddle and tiki bar. There is a mini refrigerator on the rooftop deck for Yacht guests to use while grilling and hanging out to lessen the need for coming and going from the boat.

The beach is on the other side of the pier, which provides a great sandy swimming area and lots of activities. All free- you have access to kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, water volleyball, a floating picnic table, piers for fishing, and lots of floats and other water toys. Life jackets of all sizes are available, except for infants. Please bring life jackets that fit infants and small children.

*There's a marina bathroom with a large shower stall, toilet, and storage at the end of the pier on shore. This restroom is private to yacht guests. Toilets on the Yacht are not to be used. Sinks and showers on the boat can be used as normal.

*The kitchenette consists of a dual coffee maker with a standard drip pot and a Keurig side, a microwave, double sink, and a mid-sized fridge and freezer. A starter case of bottled water is provided. We recommend bringing and cooler and ice for beverages or extra storage space. Coffee, sugar, and powdered creamer are supplied along with plates, cups and basic kitchen supplies.

*This is a 40-foot 1985 Carver 3607 Aft Cabin Yacht. It stays on the pier at all times and cannot be driven by renters.

*The pier is directly connected to our beach front. Safe area for swimming and access to FREE kayaks, paddle boards, floats, canoes, sand toys, life jackets and a floating picnic table. We also have rental boats available!

*There is a large staircase of about 35 stairs to get to/from the parking lot. See pictures for a better idea!

*The pier is made up of floating docks. They can be wobbly, especially when the lake is active. There is a lot of activity on weekends, especially late morning/afternoons. Mornings, nights and weekdays are slower.

*There are security cameras on the parking lot, beach and piers for safety and rental boat purposes. No cameras are on/in any of the rental units or outdoor yard spaces.

*The yacht is docked on our pier directly on Petite Lake, which is part of the Chain O'Lakes. Waves and movement should be expected along with the wildlife that accompanies lake life. Our peninsula is surrounded by the water, a forest and a swamp. You will see all kinds of fish, spiders, bugs, ducks, cranes, raccoons, chipmunks, muskrats, otters, squirrels, and much more!

*If you are sensitive to motion, this may not be the best option. We have several other rentals available on the property- feel free to reach out about availability.

- "The 3 of us stayed on the yatch for the wrekend. Very cool experience. David is a fantastic host - professional, detailed, accessible and recommended restaurants and things to do verbally and in text message. We didnt rent a boat ahead of time but found David had one for rent after we arrived. There was an issue with the boat which prevented us from being able to go out. BUT, David went above and beyond not just condidtently communicating how the repair was proceding but actually calling another rental place and recommending a couple others. After his boat was repaired he offered to comp us a few hours if we wanted to extend our stay to take the boat out on our last day. Beach was smaller but private and no lack of things to do. We enjoyed the kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards and other toys included in the stay. Awesome balcony area overlooking Petitie lake. Close to restaurants. David's recommendation for Antioch Pizza hit the mark. 5 stars!!! Thanks David"

Our Campground facility has a beautiful 9 acre lake, clean restrooms, a playground and hiking trail. We have a nice circle dirt track, drag strip, mud racing puts and motocross track. We have a 4,000 seat stadium. The campground is primitive. No hook-ups.

*PLEASE NOTE: Seasonally high water levels (most likely in April & May), can at times change point of access entry. Any required alternate parking/access points due to changing waters will be relayed prior to check-in to help assist with your arrival.*

*PLEASE NOTE: The Marina Pool is NOT an amenity allowed for guest use during Houseboat Oasis guest stays. This is a direct city ruling strictly prohibiting access to the marina owners only pool without a direct Go Beyond Houseboat Oasis Marina Owner present (Since 2021). We do apologize but this is outside of our control and we do respectfully uphold this city regulation for all our guests and request your respectful cooperation as well.
