- "This was our first time to Maine. This camp ground was excellent. We stayed in a cottage. The cottage had a queen bed, full bath, full kitchen, living room, tv, couch with a pull out bed and a small dining area as well as two porches. I would definitely return due to the great location and distance to Acadia and Bar Harbor. " - "Cottage and the grounds are clean and well maintained. Quiet. Great proximity to Acadia National Park stores, restaurants, other services."

The 42-foot Mazu features elegant bedding, a sleek kitchen, and spacious decks for sunning and entertaining. Two private staterooms are perfect for four guests; but with an additional sofa bed in the main salon, Mazu can accommodate up to five guests.
- "This is our second year vacationing on MAZU. We love the easy access to good restaurants and shopping. Also a nearby restaurant has live music during happy hour so we had that as a bonus as we relaxed on the boat. The owners are great!! Although we had an issue with the plumbing this year, Chip responded quickly and resolved the problem. We are hoping to stay on the MAZU again next summer." - "We totally enjoyed our weekend stay in Damariscotta. The houseboat accommodations were awesome. Olga, the property manager, was exceptional. We will return. Great location….a short walk to all of the downtown restaurants and shops of Damariscotta and Newcastle. Wonderful place to experience Maine!"

Charles Andrew joins Tessie Ann (HA 285122) and Nancy Lou (HA as part of a fleet of non-powered houseboats moored in Riggs Cove by Riggs Cove Rentals LLC at Derecktor Maine LLC, a full service marina in Georgetown, Maine. Charles Andrew has accommodations for five and is accessed by way of the included 16' skiff with 6 hp motor which can also be used to explore the coves and islands within the cruising area. Leisure, peace, romance and, best of all, no boating experience required! Three night minimum stay required.
A Romantic Getaway: The full bulwarks (high sides) of our houseboat Charles Andrew provide protection from the wind, but better yet, virtual seclusion while lounging on deck. Levolors on all the windows provide privacy at night, and shade during the day.
Cook on board with the three burner propane stove and oven, or go ashore to The Osprey Restaurant on the Derecktor Robinhood Marina site.
Our Beautiful Setting: While you're swinging on a mooring in Riggs Cove, ospreys nest nearby and dive for fish, seals bob by, lobster boats work their traps, and sailors and yachtsmen arrive and depart to and from ports unknown. A glass of wine, a good book, your best friend(s), 360 degrees of water views.
Cool nights? Two marine Fireplaces. Too much sun and salt? Walk in shower with on demand hot water. A little more than life at sea.
Gunk holing, adventure and remembering: exploring with the skiff or the 2 kayaks on board along the miles of shoreline in the cruising area. There's history here, sea people, traders, fishermen, boat builders. Want to come? Three night minimum stay required. The Charles Andrew, Tessie Ann (Home Away 295122) and Nancy Lou (HA 3546511).
- "Weather didn't cooperate as we might have liked but we loved staying in the harbor listening to the fish jump, watching the seals pop their heads above water and seeing the bald eagles fly right over our deck." - "We had a wonderful experience on the Charles Andrew. It was a fun adventure. The marina is charming and there is so much to keep you busy on and around the houseboat. We loved exploring the islands by skiff and by kayak. The Osprey is a delicious restaurant on the property. Jimmy was so helpful and gave us all the information we needed about the Charles Andrew and the local happenings. We will be back for sure!!!"

A cozy off the grid yurt, offering a year round elevated camping experience nestled in the woods of Brownfield, Maine. A cozy spot to unplug and relax with trails for walking and biking and access to Shepherds River in the summer. Winter time trail access for snowshoeing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling.
The yurt is heated by a wood stove and has a fire pit outside. We supply the firewood for both. For lighting there are solar motion lights outside and inside the yurt there are two propane lights along with battery operated lanterns and headlamps. For cooking there is a propane stove top and well stocked kitchen area with 2 5- gal. jugs of water for cooking and cleaning. There is also a propane grill outside. For sleeping arrangements there is a full size futon with a twin bunk bed above and then a second full size futon bedding and pillows are provided. The site has its own porta potty and in the summer months an outdoor shower with water warmed by the sun.
You will have your own space where the yurt is. There are trails right from the site for snowshoeing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. In the summer months the trails are great for hiking and biking and there are spots along the river for a quick dip or to bring a beach chair to sit and keep cool in the water.
We like to give our guests their space. We live close by and are available if anything comes up.
There is a great local restaurant called The Back Burner. We have a great music and food venue called the Stone Mountain Art Center. The Saco river is right around the corner. Our property had maintained snowmobile trails that are connected to the major trail system. Wonderful day hikes around the area and we are only about 25 minutes from North Conway.
Small town easy drive to restaurants, gas, saco river, Burnt Meadow pond and hiking trails.
Cell phone service can be very spotty. service can be better at the main landing of the property.
quite time is at 10 pm / Be considerate of neighbors
No loud music
carry in and carry out trash (we do supply trash bags)
no smoking
fires are only allowed in provided fire pits.
swim at your own risk
Drive down designated roads/trails at your own risk
- "The yurt was tucked back in the woods and we were able to drive right up to the front door. A warm fire was already started by hosts with plenty of wood for our time there. There is plenty of lighting in the yurt. A plethora of cooking supplies and dish ware. There is no fire pit in the winter which we were bummed about but there was a grill. There were snowshoes available to hike around the large property. The other yurt was far enough away that we never saw the other guests. Thank you for our beautiful stay!"

The Nancy Lou is our newest moored houseboat for rent (three night minimum) to experience the peace, beauty and wonder of life on the water in Riggs Cove, Georgetown, Maine.
The Nancy Lou has a roof top deck (Sun Deck) for you to relax and enjoy the surroundings as well as accommodations for five. The private forward bedroom (cabin) features a queen sized bed with doors forward to the front deck and aft to the kitchen (galley) and bathroom (head). The salon area converts to sleep two, and the settee pulls out for one.
A walk-in shower and on-demand hot water, a three burner stove with oven, a refrigerator, and a small propane grill. Birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, kid's science project? Just hangin' out on the mooring, exploring the coves in the skiff, paddling kayaks (two on board), watching boats, watching nature and being one with the sea. All the comforts of home are on Nancy Lou. Experience a getaway you won't forget, and, best of all, no boating experience required.
- "We had a wonderful few days on the Nancy Lou. I would equate it to glamping with all the conveniences. The accommodations were great. The master bed was very comfortable and my kids (19, 19, and 21) said the living room beds were decent as well. I would say the full bed was a little too small for two 19-year olds to share, but for smaller kids it would be fine. The kitchen is compact but had everything I needed to cook our breakfasts and dinners. There is also a small grill to use. The fridge and freezer are small but perfect for what we needed for four days. Like everything else, the bathroom is small yet efficient. It was interesting to learn how it all worked and we had no problems with the water supply even though there were 5 adults showering. We did switch to the second tank on the last day. The electric lights all worked great too - we played many board games in the evening. The best part, though, is the roof deck. When we weren’t exploring the cove in the water bug or kayaks, we were up reading a book on the roof deck in comfy lounge chairs. Everyone at Riggs Cove was very friendly and helpful and gave us a lot of information on local places to visit. They even checked in on us on day 2 to make sure we had everything we needed. Finally, we did not have the best of weather but we still had an awesome time so don’t worry if your forecast isn’t perfect. We even weathered a massive overnight thunder and lightning storm with torrential rain and the Nancy Lou barely rocked."

HOW DO I GET TO THE ISLAND?
Every island adventure begins at our shoreside parking/dock area. From there, you've got options: Paddle, Ferry, or BYOBoat. See the details below for schedules, limitations, and FAQ. Know that we make island access for you, your crew, and your gear convenient, free, and part of your adventure.
RETURNING GUESTS: We appreciate folks who return year after year. If you've misplaced the Island Withdrawal Syndrome coupon code, remind us of your last stay and we'll send you a new one. We can't have you suffering from IWS, now can we! Also, if you are looking for an exception to minimum night requirements, please reach out.
COOKING OPTIONS: Cooking is easy, so pack heavy on food and light on gear. We supply: kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans, French press, coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, and drinking water from our homestead well. You can cook on the propane grill and stove or you can cook over an open fire.
FREE STUFF: Every Maine Island adventure includes: free island transportation, camp chairs, unlimited firewood, lantern, fire starter, matches, canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddle board with life vests and gear. Explore Annabessacook Lake! On the island there is a rope swing, a mile of walking paths, benches and hammocks.
DOGS ON VACAY: We're dog people and the Nautilus is pet-friendly for most pups. We screen all four legged visitors right after the reservation is made so that every island visitor is safe and prepared. If you can answer "YES" to each of our screening questions, your pup will be approved: Does your dog get along with other pups and humans? Is your dog’s history bite-free? Are you willing to keep your pup on leash during your stay? And, are you willing to be responsible for any damages your dog creates?
If there's a "NO" in there, DON'T WORRY! Check out our stay at Naughty Dog Island. It’s a private island with a log cabin where ANY dog - even unsociable ones - can be leash-free and worry-free. Our pet fees are $30/night per pet, which gets settled up after the reservation and screening are completed.
LOOKING FOR A SHORT STAY OR WANT A SUPER DEAL? So that guests looking for longer stays have options, our minimum night stay requirements tend to start high early in the year and then drop by Summer. So if you've got a quick stay in mind and are surprised by our minimum night stay requirements, check back with us. The closer we get to an empty night, the more flexible we will be.
Same goes for our pricing: if you've got specific dates or stay in mind, book early for the sure thing. But if you're flexible on dates, flexible on which stay you want, and don't mind biting your nails while waiting for a price you like, then save the link and check back. We have a first-come, first-served booking policy, but our pricing gets lower, the closer we are to an empty night.
Guest Access:
Guests enjoy exclusive access to the Nautilus where they can enjoy privacy and shared access to 1 Big Sustainable Island and its facilities.
There's lots to do on 1 Big Sustainable Island and (as has been the tradition for generations in the neighborhood) visitors are encouraged to stop by (so expect some company from the neighborhood on the island during daylight -- after dark, however, the island is closed to the public). Activities in these shared areas include:
Hiking or walking on more than a mile of trails
Swimming
Swinging off the rope swing at the lake's edge
Cooking over an open fire
Watching the sunset from Sunset Rock
Resting in one of the hammocks sprinkled about the island
Fishing off the dock
Canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding
Sauna lake plunging
We are happy to provide safe luggage storage so you can enjoy FREE early arrival or FREE late departure. Guests can take advantage of the shared areas and activities either before check in or after check out.
HOW PRIVATE IS THIS?
Each of our eco-island stays is designed with privacy in mind. There are 5 (soon to be 6) stays on 1 Big Sustainable Island. Unless you go looking for neighbors, you probably wouldn't know they are there. Every site has its own corner of the island. You might find folks in the public areas of the island (ie bathroom, boat rack, ferry ride, rope swing, and trails), but your sleeping and eating accommodations are private. Also know that our Island support team, if they're not already on island, they're a text away, if you need help.
The Neighborhood:
Annabessacook Lake is our 1400 acre backyard of clear water, good fishing, and great neighbors. Whether they are year-round residents, summer vacationers, or visitors, most folks you'll meet will tell you that they have been coming here since they were a kid.
Getting Around:
Getting to the Island: You’ve got check in options
CHECK IN YOURSELF by:
* Bringing your own boat or boat plane - we have a public boat launch, free parking for your rig at our place, and free island dock space available.
* Paddling yourself - Take one of our canoes or kayaks and paddle the 30 minute trip across the lake to your stay. We can shuttle your gear on the next ferry if you want. Or,
CHECK IN WITH FERRY SERVICE:
Free ferry service to the island runs at:
* 9:45 Early Arrival - We’ll shuttle you to 1 Big Sustainable Island early and while your stay is being prepared, you can begin your “Island Time” early. We’ll safely stow your gear and let you know as soon as your accommodations are ready.
* 3pm and 5pm - With the standard checkin ferry, we’ll move your crew and your gear to the island and help get you settled in.
*. Pre-arranged Special Ferry Service is available at other times for a $60 one-way fee during regular hours (between 8pm and 7am, the cost is $100 and a hot cup of coffee for the Boat Captain). We'll transport your gear and all your guests on this 10 minute private boat ride.
FREE PARKING: Park in our private parking area for free. Cart your gear to our shoreside dock to begin your "Island Time" journey.
Other Things to Note:
Is it a houseboat? a Tiny home? on an Island? or is it a Cabin? How about all of the above.
OUTHOUSAPHOBES: We're with you!
New guests might wonder about our island, off-the-grid bathrooms. Rest assured that our compost toilets are designed with usability in mind. They smell great!
We have all been to rural outhouses where this is not the case. It's the number 1 complaint (or is that #2?). Which is why, when we built each of our toilets facilities, we did something different. Through management of airflow, separation of liquids from solids, application of saw dust, and optimizing the force of gravity, we have a composting toilet system that has been in place for years with very little odor and maximum sanitation. So rest easy: if a member of your party is an "outhousaphobe", know that so are we!

Play on the rope swing. Tie a canoe up next to the porch. Explore the trails of a 14 acre wooded island. Enjoy super clean, Superhost, Maine Guide hospitality. We'll help you settle into the rhythm of island life and return you refreshed, renewed, and inspired.
The Space:
We supply everything you need for a unique Maine island experience. Just bring a cooler full of your favorite food and beverage. Then prepare to unplug. Serving the naturally curious since 2015.
Sleep soundly in a comfy queen size bed made up with extra blankets and a comforter. The futon couch converts to a full-size bed in the living room. Or, lounge in the outdoor hammock hanging next to the water. Modern amenities include: a compost toilet and hot shower (available during the non-freezing seasons) with towels and soap nearby. Island life is barely "roughing it", even though electricity is battery limited and plumbing is eco-unconventional.

* Paddling yourself - Take one of our canoes or kayaks and paddle the 30 minute trip across the lake to your stay. We can shuttle your gear on the next ferry if you want. Or,
CHECK IN WITH FERRY SERVICE:
Free ferry service to the island runs at:

- "We had the most amazing time staying at the Nautilus. Kent was a generous, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic host who made sure that we had everything we needed for a successful getaway. We were even able to check-in early and enjoy the Nautilus for a few bonus hours. We are so grateful! This summer has been a fast-paced and hectic one, and this trip offered us the opportunity to slow down, look around, and be totally present against the most beautiful natural backdrop. We swam, canoed, grilled, played lots of cards, and had the most special time. We will be back, most definitely!"

Experience a unique boating adventure without ever leaving the dock on the scenic Damariscotta River. With warm wood interior, and 360-degree river views outside, the Nebi offers a unique adventure without ever leaving the dock. Paddle the inclusive kayak downriver to view everything from seals to ospreys and oyster farms. The village of Damariscotta is a 2-minute stroll away, and offers restaurants and galleries. Take a short drive to lighthouses, walking trails, and beaches. 1 hour North of Portland and 2 hours from Bar Harbor!
The use of two kayaks and a canoe is included.
- "Really enjoyed our stay on the Nebi. If you've never stayed on a boat before, there may be a couple of things to get used to like the small bathrooms (aka the head) and little kitchenette, but overall it was quite comfortable. Great way to get a taste of boat life." - "We had a great experience staying on the boat. It was special having morning coffee on deck while watching the sea birds. The accommodations and location are excellent. Great restaurants on and near the dock. Olga and Chip are wonderful. Their instructions on board the boat made everything easy. We will stay there again in the future."

If you're a first-time glamper, a semi-retired camper (and you don’t want to deal with a tent or sleep on the ground), or just looking for a quick overnight getaway, ComfyDome is the perfect choice! ComfyDome is an off-grid glampground designed for those who seek comfort and convenience without sacrificing the experience of being in nature.
Each dome is equipped with solar power, which can run most small appliances. Solar reduces our carbon footprint and minimizes our impact on the planet. Our solar energy system, while significant, can sometimes be unpredictable on cloudy days. To keep our guests comfortable during peak temperatures, we have installed shade traps that can be opened or closed as needed.
We strive to embody the essence of glamping: glamorous camping in nature. Our focus is on immersing our guests in the natural environment and allowing them to slow down and appreciate the beauty around them. Nature is the heart of our existence, and we think it should be enjoyed in its purest form.
Please note that your pricing will reflect our Blue Sheets Club pricing! Here's the scoop: Guests can snag a fantastic discount on their stay by bringing their own bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows, shower towels, etc.) or just a sleeping bag and pillow. It’s however you roll. If you choose to use our full-service feature (which includes all bedding), a $95 fee will be added to your trip for bedding.

It’s time for a digital detox! Although the main house has Wi-Fi, we are off-grid to help guests connect with nature.
