- "Pristine room, get a lot more bang for your buck than surrounding hotels, good location near the water and accessible to nightlife walking, plenty of food close by. " - "We were really impressed with the new hotel. There are only about 16 "rooms" which are all spacious suites with bedroom, bath, living room/full kitchen. Decor is mid-century modern with a grey and white color scheme. There was a turntable and LPs to play in the room. They supplied delicious coffee with the coffee maker. The keyless entry was very easy. Check in is on your phone, which confused us at first, but the manager was there and he was very helpful. Bed was very comfortable. It was an easy walk to the waterfront in one direction and to the Portland Museum of Art in the other. If we had a complaint, it was only that at night we could hear the hum of some HVAC unit, which was probably not even associated with the hotel and not under their control. At first we were bothered but then it became "white noise." It was a pleasure for us to stay at The Weldon Hotel."

Our unit was a smaller one, and still large and comfortable. The only note I’d have is that our unit was right above some garage doors that are pretty loud when open/close. Only noticed once during our stay, though. Unit provides kitchen appliances (no dishwasher) and bath has hair dryer, soap and shampoo (note: no conditioner). No laundry in unit, and there is one not quite full length mirror in master closet. Also there is a tabletop ironing board in the master closet, vacuum cleaner in the entry closet. One TV in living room and they use Roku—you can sign into your own account apps like Netflix or Hulu if you want. We had no issues using WiFi and our phone worked fine for cell coverage (ATT). Overall our stay was convenient, clean and comfortable. "

Located on a side street in a quiet neighborhood in downtown Bar Harbor with off-street parking for one vehicle. It has an open floor plan & hard wood floors throughout. All new appliances. There are 2 bedrooms - 1 with a queen, - 1 with a single twin bed and pull out trundle (max 100 lb), plus a queen sleeper sofa in living room. A port-a-crib is available.
The walls are hung with original paintings of Mount Desert Island, and Acadia National Park. Full laundry, wi-fi, cable tv, and a pleasant garden and yard completes the package. While the apartment sleeps 5, ideally this home is best suited for a family - 2 parents with young children, or 2 or 3 adults. The trundle bed is not to be used by anyone weighing more than 110 lbs.

We could walk just about anywhere we needed to in town: grocery store, restaurants, shopping, shore path, etc., which was great since traffic downtown could be challenging. We’re we’re all adults, but a family with children would be just as comfortable here too! CHECK IN / CHECK OUT TIMES:
Check in time is any time after 4:00 PM. Check out time is 11:00 AM. We ask that you kindly respect check out time as cleaning staff will arrive to clean the apartment for our next guests.

The maximum occupancy for this apartment is 4 and may not be exceeded without specific permission from the owner.

There are no pets of any kind allowed in the apartment.

NO SMOKING:
There is no smoking of any kind allowed in the apartment. This includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and vape devices. You may not smoke in the apartment, on the private deck, nor anywhere in the entire building. If you wish to smoke, you need to take the elevator to the ground floor and smoke outside of the building. Evidence of smoking will result in loss of your security deposit.

CONDUCT:
You are expected to behave reasonably and responsibly during your stay. Any unreasonable conduct in the apartment, on the balcony or in the building may be grounds for expulsion and the loss of your security deposit. Unreasonable conduct includes but is not limited to: indecent, rude or obnoxious behavior; dangerous or intentionally destructive acts; holding a party without the owner’s explicit permission; playing loud music; excessive drinking; the abuse of legal drugs or any use of illegal drugs; or otherwise acting in an inappropriate manner. Any damages or injuries to yourself, others, the apartment, or the building while engaging in unreasonable conduct is not the responsibility of the owner or his insurance company.

PLEASE NOTE: There are occupied office spaces directly beneath this unit. Accordingly, please keep noise to a minimum during weekday work hours. Parents, this includes noise from children, including but not limited to running in the unit.

FURNISHINGS:
The apartment is fully equipped with bedding and bath towels, cooking pots and utensils, dishware and starter paper products for your use during your stay. Depending on the length of your stay, you may need to replenish paper products and soaps.

TOWELS AND LINENS:
Please be respectful of linens and towels. Makeup/foundation and tanning products will stain. We have provided you with makeup wipes and black "makeup" towels for your use.

INCURRED EXPENSES:
Any expenses incurred by the owner during your stay that are over and above what the owner agreed to in your rental agreement will be deducted from your security deposit. Any such expenses beyond your security deposit are still your responsibility and will be invoiced to you. The owner will inspect the property and pay any related invoices for services related to damage, and monies owed will be collected from you by whatever payment method you initially used.

CLEANING:
The apartment is meticulously cleaned in preparation for your visit, and you are asked to leave the residence clean and in good order. You are required to clear the refrigerator, run the dishwasher, gather your trash. Please do not remove duvet covers from comforters.

WEATHER / NOISE:
The owner is not responsible for the weather or other acts of nature and cannot guarantee peaceful and quiet enjoyment in the urban waterfront environment in which this apartment is located. Noises generated by construction, people, traffic, maritime activities, pets or wildlife outside the apartment are not an occurrence that warrants a refund of any kind.

Retro Maine-ia is a very unique little apartment with a retro flare to it. It is right on the road to Roque Bluffs state park, sandy ocean beach and hiking trails. It is about a mile from town. It's tucked into a quiet neighborhood with a lovely landscaped yard with sitting areas to enjoy the summer sunshine.

We have a 1 month minimum stay. The $60 per night is for a 3 month stay, a stay of anything less is $70 per night.

The space
Our units are perfect for Traveling Nurses, Doctors, Technicians, and Physical therapists. We have had many traveling professionals stay with us and they have all loved our units and have commented on how beautiful and comfortable they are. Our unit locations have also been ideal for their work needs. We've discounted our price to $60 per night to accommodate the traveling professionals during their 3 month stays. Our regular price for shorter stays is $70 per night.
We offer more than just a bed and a chair; and a kitchen to cook in.
We work very hard to make our units lovely and comfortable and a delight to stay in; a place where it will uplift your spirit to come home after a long day (or night) at work. We also put 100% into making our guests happy and to make sure they have everything they need. That's why we come in weekly to do light housekeeping and to wash towels and sheets, replace paper goods (toilet paper/paper towels) to provide a fresh, clean, bright environment to settle into and relax.
We currently have 8 exquisite units for short term leasing, and several more underway. All fully furnished with unique, stylish, homey furnishings and everything perfect for a several month stay.
Don't just tolerate any place that you think you can stand to stay in for three months, book a place that feeds your soul and makes our wonderful little town one of your best assignments.

Other things to note
Due to the very high heating cost during Maine's winters, there is a heating surcharge. The surcharge is $200 per month from Oct-April. This is just a fraction of the heating cost, but I have to charge it to help offset the higher cost of all the utilities in the winter months.

I also require a full security deposit, which will need to be paid directly to me before you can take occupancy. Even though Airbnb says they insure you, they don't really cover everything so I do require a security deposit. Of course, if there is no damage to the unit, or fees incurred, the security deposit is refundable.

Located at the heart of Augusta, this newly renovated 1 bedroom apartment is a wonderful choice when visiting Augusta Maine! The apartment was completely renovated in November 2024 and comes fully furnished with brand new furniture, supplies and bedding! The apartment has keyless entry via a keypad with each guests receiving a unique pin. There is free parking and laundry available on site.

PLEASE READ ALL THE DETAILS OF OUR LISTING. 3rd floor, converted attic "Penthouse" apartment is steps away from Downtown Millinocket and all your outside adventures: fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, white water rafting, biking, etc. Close access to snowmobile trails, 2 minute walk to downtown/Marathon, close to Katahdin and Baxter State Park. Can't promise you will see a rainbow out our window, but on a clear day, when the leaves have fallen off the trees, you can see Katahdin!

-The unit has been totally updated on the inside; however, this is a very old house (built in 1910) and the outside of the house has not been updated. Updating the outside of the house is on our to do list.

-The windows with window air conditioners (A/C unit) cannot be open since the window helps secure the A/C unit itself, however, the A/C unit can be put in the fan mode to circulate the air in the room without having the cold air setting on.

-Keyless door entrance, door does lock automatically.
- Per the city of Millinocket fire code, we have a ladder outside the main bedroom attached to the house with an exit sign by the window with the ladder. This window does have a lock and should be locked at all times. This is for emergencies only.
-The name of our place is “The Last Hike” in reference to the entrance. There are several pictures of the stairs on our site, they are secure but are very steep, we just like to make sure all are aware before you come to visit.
-Staircase to the unit was completely updated 7.31.24. New pictures are on the site.
-NOTE: July 2024: We are currently replacing the whole front porch of the house. We will update and provide pictures soon when project is complete. This DOES NOT affect this unit at all since you enter on the side of the house, but we wanted to make you aware of the construction go on in advance.

Other things to note
Baxter State Park, Mt. Katahdin and the great outdoors. If you are looking for the Ritz-Carlton, this ain’t it. However, if you are looking for a safe, clean and we hope, comfortable place to stay at a fair price we are for you. We have good beds, TVs, kitchen basics, etc. after a long day's hike or just enjoying the wonderful outdoors away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

We bought five properties in Millinocket in 2021-2022 and have been working hard on redoing the inside of the units. Each of these properties is over a 100 years old. Older homes like ours and others in the area are not perfect, they have their quirks and flaws, so if you are the kind of person that can respect the age of the properties and everything that goes along with them we would love to have you as our guest.

We thoroughly clean after each guest, however, for individuals highly sensitive to smells this may not be the ideal place since older homes may have an old woodsy smell, like an old wooden church. We do not want to overwhelm our guests with the smell of cleaning products and/or air fresheners and try to use fragrance free items where we can so we have chosen to put air purifiers in our units to help with the old smell of a 100 year old home.

We know the outside of each of the properties needs updating, as most houses do in our quaint little town. This is an ongoing process for us as we are not only trying to make our properties better but also to improve our entire community. As we make updates both inside and out, we post pictures on updates as we can so you can make an informed decision.

Millinocket is a very small town (population about 4,200) and is known for its outdoor activities: hiking, fishing, etc., however, the town itself there is not too much else to do in this small town and most things are closed by 8 pm. There is a McDonald’s, Subway, and a few locally owned restaurants that we love to frequent regularly, however, most restaurants are not open in the winter, always call before going just to make sure. There is not a night life since things close early, the streets usually roll up about 8 pm. So according to some former guests, as you can read in reviews, they think that Millinocket is a very bland area, we don’t agree, we love it here.

If you are looking for big city action to dance the night away or to dine at Michelin chef gourmet restaurants, Millinocket is not for you. We would recommend New York City for those types of people.

Our unit does not have a washer and dryer. There is only one laundromat located at 59 Central St. in Millinocket. The phone number on their website is wrong and the hours posted are not always the case. According to the locals in town, he often shuts the place down on a whim and really does not like anyone to start washing after 3 pm so he can close down quickly. The guy who runs it is Carl, we cannot list phone numbers on this site, but we can text it to you if you need it. There is another laundromat but it is in the town of Lincoln about 20 minutes away. So we ask that you please plan accordingly if you need to do your laundry during your trip.

Please note that the parks book up early so make sure to make your reservations.

We also ask that you please read all our notes carefully, we work diligently to make sure all of our units are accurately detailed and the photos are kept updated, so on every level your expectations are met and hopefully exceed.
