The Windaway Loft, part of the Windaway estate, is a perfect choice for a small family or up to 2 couples who want an oceanfront vacation in Bar Harbor, but prefer to stay just far enough away from the craziness of town. Available by itself or in conjuction with Windaway Summer House (vrbo #507910), Windaway Loft is a 2 story, apartment type dwelling. Once the attached garage of the Windaway summer house, it has very recently been lovingly renovated into a truly delightful, light filled, modern addition to the retreat like quality of the Windaway Estate. Hi Speed Wifi internet is included in the rental rate. There are 2 bedrooms, each with a brand new beds (one with a king, one with 2 twins), along with a bathroom with washer/dryer on the first floor. Linens and towels are new, high thread count and high quality. On the second floor, the open concept living/kitchen/dining area and large deck (with a grill and picnic table) offer exceptional views of the cranberry field and the ocean beyond. All appliances and furnishings are new, and tastefully coordinated. The seating is very comfortable and takes advantage of the views. Kitchenware is high quality (knives are sharp!) and is BPA and Teflon free. Enjoy having morning coffee and breakfast with the sun, and incredible sunsets and star gazing in the evening.
During the day, take a stroll on the shore to look for seashells or sea glass. Even better, bring your kayak (or rent one from National Park Canoe and Kayak Rental) and explore the peacefulness of Western Bay from just outside your door. Of particular interest is a small, working Oyster Farm just off the shore, which is owned and operated by the owner of Windaway. We have 24-48 hrs blocked off before and after each visitor for professional cleaning and disinfecting to help contain the spread of Covid-19.

For Guests: Onsite Laundry, cleaning and disinfecting supplies, toilet paper is provided, and all linens and towels are cleaned between guests by a professional service.

We welcome all of our guests to Shiloh Villa, in person for a brief tour of the house. Please share your best memories of your stay at Shiloh Villa in our guests log!

Chef’s kitchen is fully equipped including a KitchenAide Oven. Please return all kitchen appliances & tools to their original storage spaces.

Please do not clean (dress) fish or game in the villa. Please bag and dispose of all shells, bones, kitchen waste, garbage, etc in the waste bins and take to Transfer Station.

Please do not throw shells or cascaras, or bones in the yard or gardens- they attract pests.

All towels and linens are provided:
Please only use the white towels for bathing indoors and the grey towels for the beach.

Please provide adult supervision (18+) for all children under 12 when on the indoor mezzanine or outdoor decks , or beach (no lifeguards).

There are two private moorings directly in front of the house, and the Sebago Launch is 5+- minutes walk from the Villa.

To access The Sebago Boat Launch, Parking at Mt. Douglas and the Transfer Station( to be CDC Compliant, guests must collect and dispose of their own trash/garbage at The Transfer Station- less than a mile from the Villa). Please provide a license plate and name it us registered under so we can have a pass made for that vehicle during your stay. A pass has to be filled out and dated for use, so we can just sort that out at Check In.

No pets, many of our families have allergies.
There is a charge of $250/day/animal for violators.
No open flames or fireworks allowed.
Free Trash Transit Passes for Guests to dispose of their trash: $75 Pick Up Fee for left behind trash.

We are nearby to answer questions and care for the gardens. Please message us through this APP with questions or concerns.

- "We enjoyed our week there. I wish the weather was warmer but the water and views were perfect. Plenty of room and we loved the grassy lawn and the covered patio sine we got some good rain storms. Architecturally inspired by historic European manors, this one-of-a-kind estate has two homes on three acres. High Tower has three bedrooms and bathrooms; kitchen, dining and living rooms with a fireplace; and a fourth-story rooftop deck atop the tower with mountain views. The Pool House has intricately hand-painted vaulted ceilings, a 12-foot dining table, two fireplaces, a woodstove, screened porch, and one bedroom and bath. The two houses share a private pool guarded by water-spouting gargoyles.

The design details in both properties are stunning. The original owner imported accent pieces from around the world and brought in artists to make this home truly exceptional. High Tower comfortably hosts six adults . The first-floor bedroom has a queen bed, the second-floor bedroom has a king bed, and the third-floor bedroom can be either a king or two twins. The Pool House hosts two adults with one queen bed. An inflatable mattress is available for kids or extra guests.

The private pool (heated to 75 degrees) is only open from Memorial Day through September.

With every attention to detail, the living room has 10' ceilings covered in 24 inch planks milled from old growth pine on the property.
