We made use of the fire pit and had some nice memories there and on the paddle boards. Water wasn’t as cold as we thought either! All in all, really nice. Hope we left it in good order. - "This property was a dreamy, romanticized take on a Victorian property. There was more than enough space for 11 of us (4 extra beds than we needed!!) and the property was absolutely decked out with everything you could need. We swam, we played volleyball, we had a family archery contest, we ate outside on a long, handmade table that looked like it was from a “country living magazine”…. There was lazy morning coffee on the front porch, late night hangouts on the back deck, a sunken bathtub…. books and artwork galore… this home is a well maintained, storybook place and was perfect for a family reunion. Any concerns I had based on previous reviews were put to rest immediately - ignore them! The water was lovely and tasted great, dishwasher worked fine, everything was comfortable. 100% would stay again (and maybe again and again!)"

- "Property was very nice. Our villa was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Good value for what we had. Only issue was shower water didn't get very hot and heaters made a lot of noise. We ordered from the Maple Kitchen three times. Food was outstanding, and delivered piping hot before our cocktails were done. And with no delivery charge! Initial impression of the pool house was not good. Building needs painting, and updating. It is one of the first things you see as you enter the property. We had no complaints about the outside pool which was was large and clean. The children's playground could be expanded and updated. Tennis courts are in need of repair. The remainder of the property fine. We enjoyed walking the area."

The first and second floors of the house comprise 5,500 square feet/five hundred square meters. The upper floor has 2 master bedroom suites with sitting areas and two smaller “family” bedrooms, each with a queen or king bed. Each bedroom has its own en-suite luxury marble bath or half bath - a 4 or 6 piece bath adjoining the two master suites, and a half bath dedicated to each family bedroom.

The entry-level main floor is comprised of a suite of flowing, open rooms - a gracious 30’ entryway full of art, a huge gourmet kitchen filled with light with table space for 10 to enjoy breakfast together or prepare a meal as a group. The cooking arrangements include a wide range of gourmet cookware, a La Canche French professional stove, two prep sinks and two dishwashers. There is a fireplace in the kitchen, which makes winter nights a joy.

The formal dining room is connected to the kitchen and the two large living rooms. It has a small terrace outside French doors where the hot tub invites you to watch the sunset or enjoy a starry night.

The living rooms consist of a 32’ west facing sitting room with several sofas and chairs and the large TV. The sunsets from this room are spectacular.

The house is situated on twenty-five private acres with a view to the ridge 4 miles beyond. Nearby neighbors - a quarter mile away - are completely screened by trees. Many days, you feel that you are alone in the world! Birdsong and the wind in the trees are your constant companions.

The entire estate has a timeless quality that usually comes only from generations of family and many renovations. The property borders a twenty-foot wide, crystal clear river for half a mile, which you can hear from most rooms until hard-freeze in winter. There is a swimmable pool area under one of the two waterfalls, directly below the house.

The second bedroom has a single over a full and there is a pull out sofa in the living room. The living room has a gas fireplace with plenty of seating for your party. The unit also has a balcony to enjoy the fresh mountain air. The biggest improvement from the guest house is the larger kitchen, with room for 2-3 people to shuffle around in and for meals to be cooked and enjoyed inside rather than eating out for most meals. Perfect speed for picky kids and older guests (we had both)! The beds and pillows were very comfortable, the bedrooms very spacious and the bathrooms had plenty of towels and counter space for sharing. Each bedroom had its own private balcony, which was really nice for early morning risers to drink coffee and not interrupt the rest of the sleeping house. - "Two families on a long ski weekend. Unit was new, very clean, comfortable. Great views of the surrounding mountains, warm gas fireplace, and comfortable living room to sit and relax post skiing. Comfortable beds and bathrooms. Initially unit a little confusing to find, but we arrived on a dark, rainy night. Access to Von Trapp Family Lodge amenities nice, but didn’t use them much.
