It’s about 35 minutes to Bar Harbor itself but with how crowded it was there, it was nice to have the break back in this property. We will stay again! "

The only change i would make is i would have liked a softer bed, it was very firm, and maybe adding a small gym to the property. The hotel is close to the seashore trail ( i can't recall the exact name of it but you can walk right to it from the hotel and it's a beautiful ocean front trail. - "This is a nice BnB. Its location is walking distance to Bar Harbor commercial area and far enough away to avoid congestion and traffic. The room (Robin's Nest) was small and cozy. It lacked a TV, mini-fridge, and microwave, but these are not necessities to a BnB room. The mask enforcement was pretty strict, which makes little sense if you think about it. Walking from your room to get a cup of coffee or snack in the sun room, you must wear a mask. But if you sit down to sip your coffee in the sun room, you can take it off. It's just like restaurants where you have to put your mask on just to go to the restroom. Is the risk any greater to people you walk past, as opposed to the people at a table six feet away? Dumb. Maine state health rules are over the top, unfriendly to distant visitors and are a legally unconstitutional restriction on interstate travel. How is it that New Yorkers are safe to enter the state and Arizonans are not? Everyone knows New Yorkers are brash, uncareful, and their COVID numbers prove it. Yet they can waltz right into Maine and spread disease, no questions asked. This BnB enforced the rules much too strictly to be a warm, inviting environment. Businesses don't have to buy into the paranoia and illegal gubernatorial mandates. A business owner with guts should stand up to Gov. Mills' tyranny. She cost Bar Harbor businesses a fortune in revenue in the late spring and early summer. She should be thrown out of office and businesses should sue the state for lost profits. Anyway, none of that will matter when the stupid pandemic is over. Would definitely stay here again."

Guests will have access to only the upstairs. They will enter through a common foyer and go upstairs. There are two bedrooms, a kitchenette, and a bathroom/laundry. This listing is for one of the bedrooms. We are owner occupied and we live on the first floor. The common foyer is separated by two lockable doors for privacy for all.

During your stay
We live in the downstairs of the house. We are separated by locked doors in the Foyer. We are available most of the time, but you don't have to see us at all if you want privacy.

The space
Our house is an old farmstead in the works of coming back to life. We are organic farmers who love the earth and enjoy meeting new people. We are on the main route to the ferry and cruise tours out of Port Clyde. Located on some major bike routes on the st george river. Also next door to Fort Point attraction and hiking trail. Lots of activities in a short distance.

This house is in no way handicap accessible, sorry. If you have limited mobility, this room is not for you. It is located on the second floor with a steep old set of stairs for access.
We ask that you Please not roll any suitcase up the stairs. Antique runner is easily caught in wheels
The house is heated with a wood burning stove and no ac in any room. Yet heat rises for a warm room on cold nights and the breeze is great for a summer breeze. We provide small space heaters and a fan for use.

Remember, an old farmstead with old fixtures and only two old souls doing the handyman work on her. So, she is in no way a luxury resort, and
anything can go wrong at anytime. We no longer provide WiFi access, due to very poor service. The local library is a few miles away with 24/7 powerful wifi signal.

This bedroom has a double bed and a roll out single bed underneath. Suitable for two adults and one child for a cramped space, but workable. Please be sure to schedule the Pull Out bed for the extra set up. There is an extra fee for the usage on site, as well. This bed must be reserved prior to arrival, due to the need of rearranging furniture to allow for set up.

There is an extra set up fee for requesting this slide out bed. Bed is comfortable for an adult, if needed, but not suggested.

Retro Maine-ia is a very unique little apartment with a retro flare to it. It is right on the road to Roque Bluffs state park, sandy ocean beach and hiking trails. It is about a mile from town. It's tucked into a quiet neighborhood with a lovely landscaped yard with sitting areas to enjoy the summer sunshine.

We have a 1 month minimum stay. The $60 per night is for a 3 month stay, a stay of anything less is $70 per night.

The space
Our units are perfect for Traveling Nurses, Doctors, Technicians, and Physical therapists. We have had many traveling professionals stay with us and they have all loved our units and have commented on how beautiful and comfortable they are. Our unit locations have also been ideal for their work needs. We've discounted our price to $60 per night to accommodate the traveling professionals during their 3 month stays. Our regular price for shorter stays is $70 per night.
We offer more than just a bed and a chair; and a kitchen to cook in.
We work very hard to make our units lovely and comfortable and a delight to stay in; a place where it will uplift your spirit to come home after a long day (or night) at work. We also put 100% into making our guests happy and to make sure they have everything they need. That's why we come in weekly to do light housekeeping and to wash towels and sheets, replace paper goods (toilet paper/paper towels) to provide a fresh, clean, bright environment to settle into and relax.

Due to the very high heating cost during Maine's winters, there is a heating surcharge. The surcharge is $200 per month from Oct-April. This is just a fraction of the heating cost, but I have to charge it to help offset the higher cost of all the utilities in the winter months.

I also require a full security deposit, which will need to be paid directly to me before you can take occupancy. Even though Airbnb says they insure you, they don't really cover everything so I do require a security deposit. Of course, if there is no damage to the unit, or fees incurred, the security deposit is refundable.

Adorable 140 year old home has 2 adjoining light & airy bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Perfect for a quiet get away! It is centrally located to all that Old Orchard Beach has to offer.

Shared kitchen and shared bathroom on the main level. The only resident is myself. You are welcome to use the microwave in the kitchen and store perishables in the refrigerator as long as you clean up after yourself. There is a coffee machine and hot water kettle and I do have coffee and tea (and hot chocolate) available.

Parking is on the street, on either side of my driveway. Please don't park in front of my neighbor’s house, there's plenty of room on my side :)

During the winter months, if there are large snow piles on the street, you may park in the driveway. Please remember that while the driveway will accommodate three vehicles, we will need to park smart so that we all fit :)

There’s no guest bathroom upstairs. THE WATER CLOSET UPSTAIRS IS PRIVATE. The washer and dryer are not available for guest use.

During your stay
I will meet you with a key when you arrive, unless other arrangements are made. I work full time, but I am available by text and anything you may need, I will do my best to accommodate while you are my guest. I look forward to meeting new people and helping them enjoy our fabulous town.

There are three security cameras on the exterior of the property. Two on the garage and one on the deck. The one on the deck faces the front steps. The cameras have microphones and can be used to communicate if needed.

Other things to note
Other noteworthy features include a hammock, pumpkin chair and large backyard. There is a large deck with table and chairs on the side of the house, as well as a small deck in the front flower garden with Adirondacks to relax in. There is an outdoor shower just off the back deck stairs so that rinsing off after a day at the beach is a snap. It has both hot and cold water. I have beach towels hanging on the far side of the refrigerator in the foyer for guest use. You can hang them over the deck railings to dry when you return from your adventures. These amenities are available for bookings from late May to early September.

I have just shy of 18 acres to roam and enjoy the wildlife! The driveway has a sign for "WilderBabe Land" once you've reached the property. The cabin will be unlocked, feel free to come on in and make it your home for your stay.

Other things to note
No Electricity and No Running Water!

• The wall does lift up and down so you can be closed in if it rains but I leave it open most of the time to allow air flow.

• There is a fire pit and two chairs available at the cabin for you to cozy up or cook your food. If you would like a wheel barrow full of firewood provided there is some available on site for a small donation.

• There is a hammock with a shade cover at the cabin for you to use.

• There is a bug net provided in the cabin if you're in need of some extra protection indoors.

• Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is a short drive with a few hiking trails.

• Baxter State Park & Acadia National Park are each an hour and a half away (just in opposite directions).

• A composting toilet is on site, with a scoop and bucket of sawdust to cover waste. If you need to pee, find a tree! If it's number two, use the loo!

• No electricity at the cabin or on the property

• No running or potable drinking water. Must bring in water.

• The cabin is quite cozy for 1-2 people and/or 1-2 fur babies. The cabin itself has an 8x10’ floor plan with a full size futon. The deck gives another 3’ to enjoy your inside/outside stay.

• The property DOES get full sun so be aware of finding shade throughout the day! I like to enjoy the river(s) and explore the area during the peak heat hours!

• Mosquitos like to come out at dusk. I do have some citronella candles but it would be best if you came prepared with bug repellent!

• There are two stores nine miles from camp, The Handy Stop and Dollar General. Howland also has a laundromat.

• There is a New tiny cabin construction on site!

• This cabin is NOT private - one dwelling is visible but it is also NOT a rental.

Seasonal Details:
WINTER CAMPING: I have bedding but I suggest you bring sleeping bags rated for sub-zero temps as the cabin is NOT insulated. You are welcome to bring a small buddy-heater with you, or, one can be available to rent. The clear panels do act as a greenhouse and the cabin can retain warmth during daylight hours.

SPRING CAMPING: We like to call this mud season. Along with that comes the emergence of blood-sucking vermin (aka mosquitos and black flies). This is Maine. Please bring repellent. There is a bug net in the cabin to put over the futon.

SUMMER CAMPING: Please see Spring Camping and then remember that there may be a total of 10 days that the temperatures may be unbearable (but the garden loves it).

May thru Oct. This gem of a rental sits high on a bluff overlooking Messalonskee Lake at its widest point, toward Sidney. A real camp, off the grid (no electricity or hot water), with rainwater supplied via rainbarrel, a new clean interior bathroom with toilet and sink, charcoal BBQ, lake access across railroad tracks. A propane bbq grill was also recently added.

I will have left the door unlocked and the key on the counter. I specifically put the picnic table for my guests to use. You are welcome to enjoy the yard.

Other things to note
To find your room, you will see two doors and the one on the right says Tranquil Haven on the posts on the steps and that is your room. You can park anywhere on the gravel just be mindful of others being able to get in and out.

The space
A second floor living space for a traveler on the go. Centrally located, 3 miles from the hospital. A half mile from the downtown area. A couple miles north of Hallowell and Gardiner and close to the highway.
