We were able to walk downtown in a jiffy! The house boat was a lot more spacious than we anticipated, and was extremely clean on arrival. The kitchenette was perfect for making small meals and was nicely stocked. Having access to the private beach, pool, and beach bar was also a great plus. We were often the first ones out there in the morning. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Just remember to bring your own sheets/blankets! We forgot ours and had to go buy some. There were plenty of pillows though which was really nice since a lot of places usually lack on that end. Take a day trip to Province or Mountain Pond for both swimming and fly fishing. Toad hill also host a summer music festival and has beautiful sculptures around the property. Perfect for people trying to get away from life and into nature!

The second day we errored in our judgment of the weather and while we're were out hiking it poured and the Temps were low. In all honesty if we had wanted to needed to, I think we could have started up the fire and done ok, but we opted to call it. Like I said we had realistic expectations that it might be a reality. It speaks more to our lack of hardiness than the expectations of a teepee. I am super excited to get back sometime this summer though and to take advantage of the location of this property in relation to hiking trails in the national forest. My boys thought it was an awesome experience and are also excited to try again with a little more preparing."

Lake Sunapee, Mount Sunapee, Mount Kearsarge and much more is only a few minutes' drive away. The site is a 90-second walk from the parking area, just a few hundred feet. The tent has a propane heater, however propane is not included. You must bring your own tank (can be purchased at local gas station and hardware store). Carry in - Carry out site. Must leave no trash or items behind. There is trash barrel with bags available for your use, bags must be brought up the hill to the dumpster. The canvas tent has one double bed, additional tents are recommended for more than two people. There is plenty of space to set up more tents

Nestled in 45 secluded acres surrounded by White Mountain National Forest in Chatham, New Hampshire, Toad Hill offers off-grid luxury camping accommodations close to hiking, elevated mountain fishing ponds, Langdon Brook's waterfall, and skiing, snowmobiling, or snowshoeing trails.

The space
This colorful and charming rental is a vintage school bus that has been transformed into a cozy wilderness retreat. The rental features wood plank flooring and two foldable chairs for lounging. It also has its own private fire pit (Wood is available for $5.00 per bundle). Glampers will be able to enjoy direct access to a vast network of multi-use trails just steps from the rental, and free parking is available on the premises. This unique vacation rental can accommodate up to two guests (three if someone wants to sleep on the wood floor).

Located on Toad Hill, a remote 45 acre property surrounded by pristine forest in the heart of The White Mountains. There is lots to do and see in the area. Hike, bike, snowmobile or ski from the door to waterfalls, ponds, or just around the property in search of birds and wildlife. Take a day trip to Province or Mountain Pond for both swimming and fly fishing. Toad hill also host a summer music festival and has beautiful sculptures around the property. Perfect for people trying to get away from life and into nature!

Please note that there is no running water and no electricity in this accommodation. Bring a few items including sleeping bags or sheets, pillowcases, and blankets as well as food and utensils, cookware, flashlights, and water or a water purifier. The host asks that guests practice "leave no trace ethics" during their visit. There is an outhouse located near the barn. In the winter car access is limited and guest will have to hike to their accommodations.
