Wasn’t a huge deal but a little distasteful. Breakfast was delicious, but was late every day. It lists from 9:30-11am but did not ever come out before 10am. In my opinion, 9:30am is already really late for breakfast, and the delay didn’t sit well with any of the guests sitting at the table. I understand it’s a wellness center but when you’re trying to maximize every part of your day, any delay is inconvenient. However the checkout process was great. We checked out but were allowed to store our luggage’s, we were offered a beach kit and we were allowed to shower in the communal showers until we had to leave. Overall, I’d give the location 10/10 but the service and hospitality 8/10. Would certainly recommend and stay again! "

Outside the room there is a terrace where you can sit and spend some quiet time, and there are other indoor and outdoor areas where you can share and eat. The place is within walking distance of the town and the boat terminal. There are places to eat within walking distance. If you rent a car, John and Mike provide you with literature, maps, and directions for the places you want to visit and activities you want to do. In conclusion, I give my best recommendation for Casa Amistad and I will return again. Thank you, John and Mike, for everything. "

Minutes later, our "taxi" showed up--it's Joe!--the owner of Tropical Guest House, ready to take us to the ferry terminal. We were so grateful. Maria and Joe treated us like family/friends. There is no question that we will refer people to Tropical Guest House, and we will stay there when we return to Vieques! For those who fear (like me before I arrived) that Tropical Guest House may be too far from Bioluminescent Bay, it's not. Vieques is a small island--it took us only 15 minutes to drive from Tropical Guest House to Esperanza, the usual spot to meet Bio Bay tour operators."

Air conditioned with ceiling fans to keep it comfortable. This is a neccessary feature in summer. The outdoor shower is a great feature especially when the ocean breeze is blowing in. You can pack lighter with washer and dryer in unit. Our stay at end of July for a week was a bit warm, although the beaches were very unpopulated and water very nice. Would recommend staying in this home and on Visques. People are friendly, nice laid back environment to take a break from the chaos. Expect to pay a bit more for groceries and eating out. Everything you need is available in the kitchen to prepare your own meals. If taking the ferry over, make sure you are there in plenty of time ahead of departure. They start pre-boarding one hour before departure and won't allow you to get on if it's 10min before departure. Strictly enforced. Definitely recommend this place."

Island Dreemz is a 2,400 square foot tropical paradise on Vieques Island on the shore road on a cliff over the Atlantic Ocean, with breathtaking panoramic views of Culebra, St. Thomas, and of El Junque Peak in the rainforest on the main island of Puerto Rico. This beautiful, comfortable and private house on the North Shore Road has decks and patios sited high above a nearby coral reef with the soothing sound of waves and ocean breezes. Regular visitors include pelicans, the truly Magnificent Frigate Bird (wingspans of 7 feet), egrets, laughing gulls, and even the occasional humpback whale! A three-minutes' walk (about 100 yards) down the shore road takes you to a small, intimate beach where you can relax, snorkel and swim and whet your appetite for the sprawling beaches in the Wildlife Refuge a few miles away.

Island Dreemz is comfortably enveloped by ocean breeze and the sound of waves; however, it also offers quiet state-of-the-art, remote-controlled A/Cs in every room. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors display unimpeded views of the ocean from the upper floor.

It is less than a 10-minute walk along the shore road to the town of Isabel II with casual and world-class dining spots, an art gallery, and the wonderful deli/café/caterer 'Buen Provecho' with delicious imported cheeses - among many other delicious edibles and cafe. Here in Isabel II you can also find local night life and shopping.

Our amazing tropical garden and a natural coral tile-paved interior await you at our serene retreat. It is a sublime, contemporary-meets-natural two-story home away from home. There are 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms on the main floor upstairs and 2 bedrooms and one bathroom downstairs; each floor has a separate private entrance. All of this is your private retreat. Both floors have one bedroom with a queen-size bed and a second bedroom with two twin beds. (Only the second bedroom of the lower-level bedrooms has twin beds that can be attached for a king-size option). The bathroom downstairs is attached to the bedroom with the queen bed and is shared by a separate entrance to the other bedroom.

Each floor has a kitchen and living room with separate private entry with world-class art throughout. Downstairs the ceiling is lower, and the kitchen and dining room are smaller than the facilities on the main floor upstairs. There are views of the ocean from the front patio. Plan on getting together on the main floor to enjoy the panoramic views.

Kitchens are fully equipped with china, glassware, coffee makers and tea pots, ceramic cook tops and microwave ovens (because we like to cook!). But you will also have many other dining options. The upstairs kitchen also includes a large Breville convection toaster oven for roasting and baking if desired. Just steps from the kitchen is a large entertaining patio with a large 5-burner outdoor grill.

Hi-speed wifi service is provided free of charge at Island Dreemz when local service is working. Additionally, there is a large flat-screen television ready for streaming use with your own device. (Please bring whatever dongles your device requires.)

With on-site parking, large outdoor decks, modern appliances, a 7-foot natural stone shower, the wrap-around sun deck, a short walk to direct beach access (a small cove) that rarely has people on it, a 15-minute ride to the Vieques airport (Antonio Rivera Rodriguez Airport), your every need is anticipated. My wife and I agreed that in all of the years we have booked VRBO properties for our vacations, this property was the nicest we have stayed in. The location is actually within walking distance of the ferry of you don't mind some uphill walking. It's not convenient, but when your ferry gets in after the car rental place has closed, you can skip the cab if you aren't opposed to hiking it. Kitchen is well equipped and also provided a variety of coolers, beach chairs, towels, umbrellas and toys for all ages. Air conditioning in the living room and 2 bedrooms worked very well, but there is none in one of the bedrooms, but sleeping with the door open and a fan was good enough. The beach just behind the house is wonderful, not a lot of people around. The town with groceries, local restaurants and shops just a couple of minutes away. We had a fantastic stay in this very beautiful island and we highly recommend you staying here. Thanks for the hospitality."
