Close to everything. Pharmacy, US Post Office, Auto store, gas station, bars, restaurants, and Dairy Queen just across the parking lot for dessert.

And a short walk to Lake Superior, Bay Shore Park, Pictured Rock Cruises, coffee and more!

Primarily this property is best for adults or older children. This property is not equipped for small children, is on a busy street without outside spaces for children to play, & is located directly above full-time residents that co-occupy the building. Children are welcome at your discretion. Please be respectful & bring their own sleeping & eating necessities.

**This is an old building with original hardwood floors in the middle of downtown. With that brings squeaky floors and the bustle of other downtown businesses i.e. nightlife and morning deliveries**

- "This is the second time we have stayed at the Upscale Loft for our August UP trip, and it was amazing. The location is amazing, and you can walk anywhere in town. Gallery Coffee is right across the street and a fantastic way to start your day! There is also a coffeemaker in the loft with a sampling of coffee from the Dream Bean Machine in Grand Marais. The loft is very comfortable and exceptionally clean! There are many things to do in and around Munising, but day trips to the west to Marquette or to the east to Grand Marais are less than an hour of drive time each way. Overall, this is a great plasce to stay and we hope to return next year!"

Pictured Rocks Family Rentals welcomes you to Santa's Shack Studio! One of 3 units available at same site. The Studio has a king bed and a twin bunk bed. Great location just off of M-28 behind the White Pine Lodge and less than 5 miles from Munising. It's close to Pictured Rocks, ORV trails, many waterfalls and lighthouses. The casino is within walking distance, as well as Foggy's Steakhouse. If there's a large group, combine with our other units on the same site under a separate listing called Santa’s Shack Triplex and together it can sleep up to 18 people.

This is a ground floor unit and all recently remodeled with that up north feeling including tongue and groove pine ceiling and a twin log bunk bed. It is a cozy, little studio, so there are no private bedrooms. The bathroom shower is small as well, so tall and/or large guests may have a tight squeeze. Santa’s Shack has an on demand water heater, so there is unlimited hot water, no matter if you are the first or last to shower. We just replaced the TV in the Studio with a new 55” Roku TV for your enjoyment. The heater for the Studio is a natural gas wall heater and it will get hot to the touch. If bringing little ones during heating season, please be careful. Also, the shelf above the heater is removable for easier access to heater controls. While the home is conveniently located right off of M28, there is not much for a view or privacy when hanging outside as the units all have the view of the back of the White Pine Lodge and the gas station. There is a fire pit, picnic table, and a charcoal grill for your use that is shared with the other apartments in the backyard.

Our guests here have full access to the Studio and also have access to the fire pit and charcoal grill in the backyard. They do not have access to any of the other units onsite.

We live nearby if you should need anything but will not come over unless you ask us to. If you have any questions/concerns, please message through the app or text or call if an emergency.

Walking distance to Foggy's Steakhouse, Christmas Casino, gas station/party store, and less than a mile to snowmobile/ORV trailhead. Less than 5 miles to downtown Munising and all of the Pictured Rocks boat tours, kayak tours, etc.

There are exterior audio/video recording equipment on 24/7 and motion activated. There are 3 cameras, one facing Studio entry door, one facing front entry doors under the entry arch, and one facing exterior back door of building next door.

The cozy space is the most affordable way to be in the heart of the city! Walkable to downtown for sled dog race viewing, shopping dining. It is walkable to NMU for events. a few blocks form the the beach and gorgeous lake superior. There is a parking spot in back of the home for this unit. It is zoned to sleep 3 but has a queen bed in the studio suite style and the chaise lounge is in a separate space off of the bathroom so would be most comfortable for 2 people.
The front of the home is a 4 bedroom AirBnB that sleeps 11 listed in a separate listing called Hewitt Onion Tower. We also have a walk out basement AirBnB out of the home next door where we live that sleeps 5 . Feel free to message us if you would like any more information on these. NOTE! There is one parking spot available in back parking lot for this rental. Not a problem in summer as there is overnight street parking allowed but in winter there is not street parking allowed from 1AM -6 AM.

Barbie and Ken's, 2nd level, Studio apartment is conventiently located in the center of Downtown Munising. Just a block away from The Pictured Rocks Boat Tours and walking distance to everything you need. This studio apartment sleeps 4 comfortably with a King bed in the main room right when you walk in, there is also a seating area and a smart TV. The separate room has a fold-out sofa with a full bed and a smart TV as well. The studio also has a small office space if you need a quiet area for working! You do have to go through this office space to get to the bathroom. There is a full bathroom with a shower and a full kitchen. There is 16 stairs to the 2nd level where the apartment is located.

The Falling Rock Cafe and Bookstore is just around the corner. They provide free wireless internet, homemade food with vegan and gluten-free options, custom roasted coffee and gourmet tea, and they have delicious Jilbert’s Dairy Ice Cream! Perfect place to enjoy a light breakfast with coffee or stop for lunch and read a book. We have a coin operated laundry room on the premises if you need to wash a few things. Although this downtown apartment does not have a yard, you simply have to cross the street to sit in the park with the statue of Father Marquette. The bike path is just below the park.

Other things to note
This is not really a child friendly apartment. It is furnished with authentic vintage items. In addition, it has steep stairs and is located on a busy street downtown. Although we lived there with our children, many families would find the setting unnerving. Knowing this, we have had some families stay with good experiences from both ends.
We make every effort to use natural, organic or environmentally friendly cleaning products. We do not use perfumes or toxic air fresheners but provide an essential oil mister for your olfactory pleasure.
This is an upstairs apartment (which gives us such a fine view of the lake). Please be aware that there are about 20 steps to climb so our listing may not be appropriate for elderly or handicapped persons.
This is truly an urban experience (as urban as Marquette can be) if you are a light sleeper please keep this in mind.

Piqua Place Art Space is a cozy 1920s cottage situated on a short alley in the center of town. The alley itself is quiet and clean, and does not have much traffic. Your view from the front windows face green space so you're not looking out at the back of another home or structure. The home is a shared artist space, with daily activity in the workshop onsite, and in a separate part of the house that we access through a separate outside entrance.

All you need to bring are your clothes and personal effects. The kitchen has all the dishes and cookware you need; there's even a stock of spices available for you to use.

The apartment is spacious (about 600 sq. ft.) and bright, with lots of natural light. Because the house sits on a hill and the apartment is on the top level, it has a very private feel to it. The bedroom is through two open archways off the living room (it does not have a privacy door). The futon in the living room can be converted into a double bed. A washer and dryer are available for you to use while you're here, they are located in the basement.

During nice weather, you're welcome to use the picnic table on the front deck (or the back yard, if not in use by the owner).
With regard to winter months, I'll do my best to keep the driveway and front steps clear of snow, but cannot guaranty specific times of the day that it'll be shoveled and cleared.
