This Frame Vernacular Style Home was built in 1918. It is named for Emanuel Martin who was a partner in the Law Firm Martin and Hocker. His family were among the first settlers to Marion County in the 1840s.

This apartment is located inside the famed Kemp House. The Kemp house, circa 1938, is a Tudor Revival home, built for T.J. Kemp an agent for the Sinclair Refining Company during the 1930s. This large residence is noteworthy for its brick detail and half-timbering. Originally a single-family residence, it eventually because a boarding house in the 50s and 60s-renting rooms weekly. Welcome to Rock Haven Farm with our huge oak tree canopied driveway that will stun you. Enjoy the stunning views over our 60-acre horse farm. A quite and tranquil setting, yet just minutes from an I-75 interchange. Located halfway between Ocala and Gainesville, and 90 minutes north of Orlando.

Love animals? We have grandkids so we have animals! ;) Come visit and interact with all our adorable small animals. We have goats, mini donkeys, belted galloway (oreo) cows, and alpacas. And of course since we are a horse farm, we have horses who love carrots and apples and frosted mini wheats. We do not offer horse riding, but we can point you in the right direction if that is your interest.

Also, if your pet sleeps with you, bring your own bedding. If you let your pet on our bedding (sheets, comforter, pillows), you will be charged $225.00 to cover the cost of new bedding. Our cleaning company refuses to pick pet hair out of the bedding as it takes hours, so our only choice is to dispose of it.

We have facilities for horse owners to bring their horses on vacation with them. We have 43 stalls in 2 concrete barns and plenty of pasture turnout available (proof of negative coggins required). If you do not bring pet bowls, the Dollar Tree is 10-12 minutes away, please make a trip and spend $2.00. If you use the kitchen dishes or bowls, you will be charged $75.00 to replace the whole set. Also, bring your own pet furniture covering if you are going to let your pet on the furniture. If you let your pet on the furniture without protecting it with your own pet coverings, you will be charged an extra cleaning fee of $275.00. When you leave, if we find pet hair on the furniture, we will take pictures of the pet hair on the furniture and send them to you along with notice that we are charging to have a professional shampooing of the furniture. Also, if your pet sleeps with you, bring your own bedding. If you let your pet on our bedding (sheets, comforter, pillows), you will be charged $225.00 to cover the cost of new bedding. Our cleaning company refuses to pick pet hair out of the bedding as it takes hours, so our only choice is to dispose of it.

We have facilities for horse owners to bring their horses on vacation with them. We have 43 stalls in 2 concrete barns and plenty of pasture turnout available (proof of negative coggins required). Set on some acres, as are the neighboring homes, this is an upscale neighborhood, quiet, safe, with multi million dollar properties around us. We live here, and the apartment is attached to our home, but is also completely separate and private, with its own entrance. We are just a few minutes from Santos Trails, and the Florida Horse Park. The historic district downtown is an easy 8-10 minute drive. The WEC (World Equestrian Center) a quick 15 minute drive.

The apartment is studio style, generously proportioned, and located on the second floor, accessed by a short flight of stairs. A custom made antique Queen+ sized bed, table and chairs, wall mounted TV, etc. The bathroom has shower, WC and wash basin. The kitchenette a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven/air fryer, and kettle. In the gardens just outside the apartment, a full size picnic table and charcoal grill, as well as a fire pit.

Our grounds, paddocks, and gardens are yours to enjoy, along with the pool and hot tub area. Towels are provided, as is an outdoor shower. Upon arrival you'll find all information needed to enjoy your stay, including our phone number for easier communications. Guest gate code, too, so you can come and go as you please.

Guests will enjoy access to most of the property and grounds. The pool, hot tub and patio areas, gardens, etc. Parking is close to the apartment entrance and adjacent to the pool area.

Note, that as this apartment forms a part of our residential property, we do not provide lock box access. We have noted some guests seem to prefer a "contactless experience", but given the location, nature, and privacy of our small estate, we cannot provide such an experience.

Guests have access to the entire 1 bedroom apartment! Your home is located on the 2nd floor (UPSTAIRS) and you will see a clear UNIT 3 sign at the front door!
No keys to lose or to return- woohoo! You can enter with your personal smart lock code that will be sent to you in a message the day of your check in.

We do politely ask guests to respect quiet hours from 10pm-7am both inside and outside for our neighbors.


Our Policies:

NO PETS ON FURNITURE: We know you love your animals, but we kindly ask that you keep them off of our furniture to prevent any damage whether that be scents, stains or hair.

NO SMOKING INSIDE: Please refrain from smoking inside the home! You may do so only on the balcony. Any smoking evidence will result in a fee for odor removal, duct cleaning, and furniture cleaning.

NO PARTIES/EVENTS: We kindly ask you to treat our home as your own to preserve its pristine condition for future guests and your return visits.
