Now for some of the intangibles. My wife and I are pretty social, which Liz must have picked up on quickly having hosted many people over the years. So we got to know her and David on the first day over some homemade scones / jam and freshly brewed tea. We left the pebble feeling like we found a home in Halifax and having made two new friends. There are so many subtle touches about this place it’d be hard to express it all in words, but in short we highly recommend it for anyone and hope to visit again in the future!"

We were in Le Cinquieme room which was the only one on the first floor. The other 4 rooms are up a creaky, somewhat steep staircase so we appreciated being downstairs. The interior of Le Maison de Ville is loaded with collections of crystal, a wall of mirrors upstairs and a beautiful setting for breakfast. Simon is a birder and has an enormous birdcage filled with birds (26 at the time we were there). I found the location to be within walking distance to the Main St and close to the huge lake that it borders on. It was late March so not too much was open but we will try to return for a few more nights during the summer or autumn. Very good stop for us on our way to Quebec City. A la prochaine! We offer our guests a separate upstairs 600 sq. ft. lake view suite with private west facing deck in our rural residence.

It's a perfect location to access the amenities of the South Okanagan: touring the wineries (approximately 46 along Naramata Road); hiking/biking (the famous KVR trail is nearby); and with Okanagan Lake and beaches in walking distance.

The space
Our upstairs 600 sq. ft. air conditioned and self-contained lake view suite consists of a large living area, bedroom, bathroom and a deck. There is wi-fi throughout the suite.

The living room is bright and airy with a large sofa, coffee table, chaise lounge, breakfast table/workspace, wardrobe, mini-refrigerator, Nespresso coffee maker, kettle and microwave. Coffee and tea are complimentary and the mini- fridge is stocked with purified water (for the coffee maker or to replenish your water bottles) sparkling Pellegrino, a selection of juices, yogourts, and cream and biscotti. You will also discover a 'Welcome Basket' consisting of cheese, crackers and a bottle of Naramata Bench wine upon your arrival.

The bedroom features a queen size bed with a super comfortable ObusForme mattress.

The space
This is a beautiful open concept lower level one bedroom, one bathroom B&B.

The bathroom has a cozy stand up shower, toilet and sink and is located next to the bedroom.

The bedroom has top quality organic cotton percale sheets, duvet and pillows. The outdoor patio also has a dining table and comfortable seating with a view of the water.

It is best suited for two people. If you have a party of more than two people, please contact us directly before booking.

There is a TV with google chromecast and an HDMI cable so you can stream your favourite shows from your own devices.

We live on the upper floor, so noise transfer is inevitable. However, we do try to keep noise to a minimum.

We have a large friendly dog that will want to say hello. If you are not into dogs, please let us know and we will endeavour to keep him out of your way.

Guest access
Access to Salt Life B&B is to the side of the house in the back. The laundry is located in a shared space. Washer and Dryer are available upon request. Please advise us ahead of your stay if you will need to use the laundry area.

There is a great place to launch a kayak or paddle board or go for a swim.

Other things to note
The Saanich Peninsula provides excellent cycling and hiking in the area. We also provide yoga mats to get your asanas in while you're here. Whether you are coming for the recreation and activities or just to relax and take in the west coast ocean vibe, Salt Life will be ready for you.

We are a semi-retired couple living above the suite with our dog. We enjoy boating and time with our grandchildren. We love being able to share our oasis with others and look forward to hosting you.
