The space
The Casita has 1 king bed, 1 full bathroom, living area with a Sofa love seat, dedicated work desk and chair, walk in closet with a tall dresser for additional clothing storage, and "Hotel-like-amenities" kitchenette, including a microwave, Keurig coffee maker that can also serve hot water for tea, and a mini fridge & freezer (with ice trays). We also provide coffee mugs, and pool-patio-safe water and wine glasses. Given we don't have a kitchen sink to wash food scraps down, we have also added disposable paper plates, plastic utensils and paper bowls.
The casita has a dedicated mesh WIFI router, a wall mounted and moveable 55" Roku Smart TV with Netflix, Disney + and other streaming channels for you to log into. Mini split AC and heater, ceiling fan plus a portable fan. Open the french doors to enjoy the covered patio with your own lounge chairs, fire table (which can be used as a dining table with the lid on) and the beautiful play pool (with basketball hoop) & waterfall!
KITCHENETTE:
While the kitchenette emulates a hotel, we stock it with 3 types of Keurig coffee, tea, half & half creamers, regular sugar, Sweet n low and Truvia / stevia sweetener and stir sticks. The Casita is detached from our main living area of our house and only shares walls with our garage, laundry room and storage room. You may occasionally hear our large garage door open or close, but we try to never use it during the morning hours or late at night. You may also hear our laundry room going from time to time, but again, we respect your sleeping hours! The entry french doors have blinds that are adjustable and there is a skylight for more natural light since the casita has no windows.
Your patio and pool are private to you during your stay! We have our own separate private patio and yard. You have 2 lounge chairs, 2 patio chairs and a fire pit table / small cafe table on the patio.
Other things to note
Parking for the Casita is behind our main garage. When you pull down the driveway, you will drive left of our double garage door until you reach the gate that accesses the backyard. There is enough room for multiple cars. Once you enter the gate, the Casita is to the right after you walk by the pool. Please watch your step on the narrow walk way by the pool! Your smart lock door code will be sent to you prior to check in.

Keep in mind that you may come across horses, mules, coyotes, rabbits, mule deer, quail, javelina, bobcats and even the rare snake either on the property or while driving into town. (Maybe the occasional hiker too!) Also, please stop at the several stop signs in town... the Sheriffs seem to be very serious about that part.

While we are close to plenty of big city amenities, there are rural desert critters to be found here: scorpions, rattlesnakes, bull snakes, kangaroo rats, tarantulas, lizards, rabbits, javelina (similar to wild pigs), road runners, coyotes, and bobcats. While you may never see any of these creatures during your stay with us, rest assured that some make their home here, while others occasionally pass through. Please watch for rattlesnakes during warm weather.
The property sits off a main paved road with approximately ~100 yards of maintained gravel drive to the casita.
The Bunkhouse is a unique accommodation that puts you in touch with the real western life in Cave Creek. You can enjoy your meals, if preferred, on your own patio with the horses. There is nothing like the sunset here with the soft noises of horses getting ready for a long nights rest. The splendid sunrise with coffee or tea will be a memory you'll cherish. You can hike easily to Cave Creek Regional park, if you want, right from this property. Cave Creek is just minutes away. Come say howdy!
The space
The true Bunkhouse offers you comfort away from home. There is the living kitchen area with wifi and TV. Your suite has a comfy king bed, closet and TV. A small dining 2 chair table is inside and can expand if you need more room. There is a dog crate in different sizes available if requested. Pack and play is also available if you have a little one. I have bunk bed cots for 2 children if requested as well.
The best part about being here is the ease of getting most places within minutes. I-17 is 10 minutes as is the 101. The 303 is about 13 minutes depending on lights. The best place to hang out is right in the town of Cave Creek and it's only 2-3 minutes to the center.
You will find it relaxing and enjoyable to be so close to the events around Cave Creek, Scottsdale, Rio Verde and Phoenix. We can suggest many places to see and explore if you just have no idea...or you can simply just get away from it all and hangout at the ranch.

Our Guests are welcome to explore the desert mountains from this property or the many trails that are within a few minute drive to the trail heads. Our pool and hot tub are available upon request at check in. Please give us advanced notice to make sure the hot tub is the perfect temperature for you to enjoy a relaxing evening. If you want to pet the horses always be aware of yourself. Horses are animals and each with it's own personality and a certain unpredictability. Children and Dogs MUST be supervised and away from the horses at all times.
You are able to use the grill and kitchen for meal prep. There is dishes and silverware along with some paper products to use. We just ask that you do your dishes before leaving. There is also a griddle and toaster. Fry's grocery store is but a few minute drive from here to stock up on snacks. If you have questions please don't hesitate to ask us. We want you to enjoy as much of Cave Creek and the surrounding areas as your heart desires.
Other things to note
We love our horses and spoil them in a very "cowboy" "ranch" way. They get food and great care. They don't get treats as that sometimes brings on naughty behavior. Please be respectful of them. I will point out the loveys and the ornery ones if you'd like to spend time with them. They will be very curious about what you do, they sometimes even stare...don't be ashamed of having a good time on the patio while they judge your behavior. They after all are the "real" animals. If you have a dog, please do not allow them near the horses. They should be on a leash at all times while outside the bunkhouse. We live in the desert and the wildlife is sometimes unforgiving.
For your commercial needs; Home depot, Lowe's, Fry's grocery, Walmart, CVS and Starbucks are all very close.

This 2 Bed, 1 Bath with a full kitchen, is located in the hidden gem of AZ, here in the town of Cave Creek. We are conveniently located to hiking, biking, off road, and culinary adventures; many of which are in walking distance (see our guest guide).
If you are looking for a family friendly (4 adults and 2 kiddos) place to stay, while enjoying the Sonoran Desert, you just found it!
The space
We have hosted up to 6 guests (4 adults and 2 kiddos) comfortably with the King Bed in the Master bedroom and the low profile Queen Murphy bed with bunk beds located in the second bedroom. We also have an available in suite air mattress if the kids have cousins or friends they would like to have over during your visit; which fits conveniently in the living area.
We have all you need to enjoy your own culinary delights with the in-suite kitchen; featuring a full stove with oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, french press, full refrigerator/freezer and our outdoor propane grill. If there is another item required to make your cooking adventure possible during your stay, not found in the kitchen, just knock on our front door, so we can assist you with whatever you might need.
