Located 1/2 mile from Newport Beach and walking distance to a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars, and stores it is great home base for exploring the Newport Beach and Costa Mesa area and is just 2 miles from the water!
Guest house is detached from main house, has private entrance, parking, full kitchen and fenced off back yard space. The Patio includes a BBQ and patio table to enjoy So-Cal evenings or take in the sun while not out exploring.

The space
The back house, Casita provides privacy and casual comfort and is great for both pleasure and business travel as the unit includes a working desk, high speed secured WiFi, and is less than a mile from a FedEx Office and just three miles from the Orange County Airport.
The Casita is entirely secluded from the main house but I do ask guests to keep noise down after 10:00 and be mindful and respectful of neighbors.

You are welcome to sit by the pool or swim, however it is not heated but stays warm during warm weather usually around 78-82 in the warm months.
Jacuzzi may be available for use upon request, and only available before 10 pm with a maximum use time of 1 hour, however, it is up to the owners discretion considering weather ( due to heating costs and two hours to heat up when it's cold).
The pool is shared by the owners in the front house. Also just a reminder the pool is for guests to enjoy and we ask that you not host get together's at this location at the respect of the owners in the front house. Guests have lounge chairs for their use on their side of the pool.
Other things to note
We have a dog who is small and friendly - mini doodle named Levi. Please use caution when coming in and out the side entrance to make sure the gate is shut securely. The dog is not in the back yard if we are not at home. He thinks everyone is here to visit him.
This unit is meant for adults only due to pool liability, however, feel free to ask me and depending on the circumstances (age of child, etc) it can be arranged.
You get a nice breeze through the big sliding windows and I provide a standalone fan, and there is a ceiling fan, which you are welcome to keep on even if you aren't there... the weather is usually very pleasant and most people in this area do not have or need AC. We do have an occasional hot day with no breeze but for the most part the fans suffice. We will move in a portable AC for extremely hot weather. If you close the blackout curtains to block the direct sunlight and leave the fans on while you are out it keeps it cooler .
other items: Microwave, keurig coffee maker, toaster oven, toaster, electric kettle, portable two burner hotplate with pots and pans, an air fryer is available upon request. There is an extra fold out table under the sofa you can use for additional cooking space. The eating table in the room can be opened up for more dining space or work area..

The unit is perfect for individuals or couples. The bungalow is furnished with almost any amenity you could need. The swimming pool is within 10 feet from the entrance of the bungalow and is not suitable for toddlers or small children.

You will have your own private entrance on the right side of the house and the bungalow and pool/spa area all to yourself. No one else will be in the pool area during your stay other than my gardener on Thursday mornings and my pool guy on Saturday mornings. Each are only in the backyard for about 10-15 minutes.

We recently built a modern luxury studio in our backyard in a quiet neighborhood in Costa Mesa.
The stand-alone unit is situated in our backyard. It provides privacy for our guests, featuring massive custom windows that allow them to enjoy the surrounding nature and welcome in the morning light. There are privacy window treatments on most of the windows, but we recommend using eye masks if needed to avoid morning sunlight.
We are situated near a canyon with excellent running and biking trails, as well as easy access to the beach, approximately 2 miles away. We are centrally located for great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars.

Guests will enter through our side gate and have their own keyed entry. We'll leave it unlocked before your arrival and leave you with a key. You have full access to our studio, porch, outdoor shower, and all the glorious views!
