Our recently renovated mid-mod Canyon Nest is in the quiet old Laguna neighborhood of Bluebird Canyon, above Laguna Beach's HIP District. It is the perfect place for 1 or 2 adults to relax after a day at work or play. Fall asleep in the canyon stillness and wake to the sound of birds singing. Watch hummingbirds hover in the strawberry trees as you sip coffee on the shaded patio.
This hidden retreat is five minute drive to shops/restaurants/beaches.

The space
This secluded canyon retreat has its own parking space, patio area and laundry room. Landscape lighting on a timer with sensor security lighting from parking area to front door.

The Guesthouse, adjacent patio, parking space and washer/dryer are exclusively for your use during your stay.

Pour a to-go cup of coffee and walk a few minutes down the hill to watch the surfers from the Thalia Street lookout. The high school pool and tennis courts are open to the public and just 1 block away. Ample street parking.

The guest cottage and private deck are all yours and provide the perfect combination of indoor/outdoor living. The only shared areas are the breezeway where the shared washer/dryer are located. All other grounds are for use of the main house.

The only shared amenities are the washer and dryer in breezeway. Thursdays are main laundry day for main house so other days should be mostly available.

Open shelving and a generous pantry round out a fully equipped kitchen. Dining indoors or alfresco offers bamboo, canyon and nature views. Versatile counter space for dining or working. A soft leather chair to sink into while enjoying your favorite book or TV shows. The Bungalow bathroom features a copper sink and oil rubbed bronze finishes. The shower offers adjustable massaging shower head and subway tiled walls. The courtyard is a lovely spot to enjoy morning coffee or evening wine - all while taking in the bamboo and canyon views.

The best way to experience Laguna and Bluebird Canyon are by walking. The town offers complimentary on-demand shuttle service all over town.

Additionally there is year round trolley service available along Coast Highway (10 minute walk) to whisk you to North Laguna, South Laguna or further to Salt Creek beach & the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel.

The Bungalow studio and adjacent courtyard areas are for your enjoyment.

All other grounds are for the use of the main house.

We are unable to accept any animals. Our family suffers from severe allergies. The property is on an open canyon with a lot of wildlife. It is also not safe for pets or service animals.

Nestled on a hillside, and out of earshot from the hustle and bustle of town sits a small one bedroom cottage constructed in the spring of 2022. The cottage is about a mile from the ocean in the quiet and very scenic neighborhood within Laguna Beach called Bluebird Canyon. This is a wonderful place to retreat at the end of a busy day at the beach and for those who enjoy coastal mountains, birds, nature and long walks.

The space
The cottage sits under the carport and is detached from the main house where we are usually in residence. It is small, approximately 375 square feet, but is fully equipped with all modern amenities and appliances. The living room shows a picture of two arm chairs which we can be switched out for a single sofa bed for those bringing a third guest. The bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed which has three large drawers on each side plus two dressers located in the closet for additional storage. The kitchen is fully equipped with a drawer dishwasher, farm sink, Bosch appliances (the microwave doubles as an electric oven) and retro refrigerator/freezer. The dining table is mounted to the wall and can be collapsed when not in use to save on space. There is also a washer/dryer located inside the cottage.

Other things to note
We are happy to host you in our cottage but know we are usually in residence in the main house next door so for those interested in throwing loud parties this is not the right place for you. This is a residential neighborhood and because the cottage is set in a canyon, noise travels and we need to keep peace with the neighbors.

The space
Ultra comfy bed and super soft sheets. Cabin feel with river stone fireplace and log walls. Crashing waves as your background music at night! No kitchen but well-equipped and it is only a two minute stroll to several restaurants, bars and mini-markets. The cabana adjoins the main house but is its own private and separate space.

Guests have private entrance and parking. Enjoy the private deck as well for your morning coffee or a sunset cocktail!

The cabana is equipped with all modern conveniences including flat screen TV, Cable, Wi-Fi, mini-refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and a tip sheet of Laguna’s best restaurants, beaches and local events.

The space
Sea View Cottage is a 13 minute walk to Main Beach and the village center. You can walk down Pacific Coast Highway or through beautiful Heisler Park.

We are located in North Laguna Beach - one block away from food such as Pavillion's grocery store, Reunion Kitchen & Cafe, Grazie Pizza, Jan’s Health Bar, and Asada's Mexican restaurant.

For sandy beaches - Sea View Cottage is .1 mile from Fisherman's Cove, .2 miles from Diver's Cove, .2 miles from Shaw's Cove, and .4 miles from Crescent Cove. These are all very short walks away. The free Laguna Beach trolley stops at each of those coves, can take you into town, and to the event centers of Sawdust Festival and the Pageant of the Masters.

There are 4 beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and plenty of beach toys and beach towels. You can rent paddle boards or diving equipment from nearby shops.
