- "I kind of don’t want to tell anyone else about my stay because I want to keep this gem of a place all to myself!!! Tina is an incredible host and made the entire experience so easy. I feel like she genuinely cared about us and wanted us to enjoy our vacation as much as they would want to enjoy their own. The home is gorgeous, it has everything you could possibly need and then some! The dock/river is perfect for all of the water activities we love to do (paddle boarding, swimming, fishing, pontooning, sunbathing, reading… the list goes on!). And that view you get to wake up to every morning!!!!! We are already booked for next summer! Thank you Tina! You and your home are very special! ☀️"

- "Beautiful property on Lake of the Woods. During our stay it was cool and raining which prevented us from fully enjoying the lake, amenities and great outdoors. No doubt when the weather is nice and warm this is a great place to stay. We enjoyed the sunroom and would recommend for families, big or small" - "We brought our adult kids and grandkids for some family time away and this cottage did NOT disappoint! Enough space for the entire family and so much to do for everyone. Between the game room, the water, nearby park, hiking trails, fire pit, we were all busy (or relaxing) the entire time. I have zero complaints! John was available for any questions we had and the experience was amazing. Thank you so much! Only downside was that we didn’t want to go home."

Bookings of less than 6 days will be considered from opening in April to June 20th and again from August 20 to closing.
The Cabin at West Cott allows guests to enjoy the lake and experience wilderness, while also exploring their energy use and how they impact the planet we live on.
The cabin is not connected to any electrical supply company. It is a solar powered home, that can sufficiently provide electricity for the energy aware family. There are two diesel generators that provide backup, but ideally should rarely come on. How much they come on is determined by the guests energy consciousness.
The Cabin at West Cott is on a quiet lake with good fishing and full access to the Winnipeg River. Whether it's a leisurely trip by water to Minaki, or kayaking through wild rice filled bays, adventure awaits. Wildlife can be seen from the dining table or dock. Eagles are a regular sight, travelling to and from their nests, feeding and training their young. Fall hunting and winter snowmobile activities make for 12 months of fun.
There are 880 square feet of living space, including a 220 square foot sunroom. The cabin is a two minute treed walk to the water. Due to fluctuating levels of the Winnipeg River system, at times the ramp to the floating dock can be steep. This can be difficult for people with mobility issues.
The cabin contains two private bedrooms and sleeps 6 comfortably. The couch can double as modest sleeping space for two if necessary. There is a cozy propane fireplace for chilly evenings or rainy days.
The cabin shares a dock with the main house.
The property is not suitable for people with mobility problems.
- There is no loud music or parties allowed at anytime. Quiet time is enforced after 10:00pm
- Any evidence of smoking indoors will result in a minimum cleaning charge of $200.00.
- There are absolutely no pets allowed. Any evidence of pets will result in a minimum cleaning charge of $200.00
- No cleaning fish on the deck or dock. All fish remains must be taken far from the property, as they attract bears. If there is evidence of fish cleaning, there is a minimum sanitation charge of $200.00
If payment for extra guests is not automatically charged to your booking, the amount of $25 per day per guest >6 is due upon arrival.
- "Wonderful property, wonderful host!" - "We very much enjoyed our vacation! Everything was as described. The walk to the dock was quick, we swam, used the canoe and kayaks, they were in great shape, as was the dock. The cabin was clean, the large kitchen made meal prep easy. Susan was an excellent host. We’ll be back!" - "We spent an enjoyable week canoeing, kayaking, swimming and otherwise just taking in the forest and lake setting. The cabin is spacious and comfortable with many windows to let in the fresh air. Susan was quick to respond to questions and requests and the cabin was a short drive to Kenora and to some popular day-use and hiking spots."

- "It was a very cute quick getaway." - "My friend and I stayed in one of the tiny cabins this past summer and it was such a cozy stay! They have a little farm on site, which was fun to go look at. It’s a 3-5 minute walk down a trail to the lake, where you can go for a swim, a kayak ride (they had some to use), or float around on floaties for the afternoon. The bathroom house was really clean and lovely to use. The communal fire pit area is beautiful as well. 10/10 stay and will be booking for next summer as well! "

Cozy boat access family style cottage near S island on gorgeous lake of the woods. Fully equipped with AC, furnace, woodstove and starlink internet. 3 bedrooms and a futon in the windowed porch. Sleeps 6. 1.5 acres. Beautiful view of the sunrise and faces east. A short distance to S island and beautiful beach.
In our bay we have a resident family of loons as well as 3 bald eagles that lunch on a small island in front of ours.
Guests are required to self-clean the cabin for arrival of the next guests and remove all items brought, including garbage and recycling. We provide contractor garbage bags and garbage can be dropped off at the waste transfer station.
There are several places to launch boats and park in Kenora. The most common is the Kenora Recreation Centre public docks (18 Mike Richards Way, Kenora, ON P9N 1L2), which is just across the canal from Safeway. There is a public boat launch available and a large long-term parking that is fairly secure. Go inside the Rec Centre building to pay for parking, approximately $CAD 7.50/day. During weekends or off hours, you can still pay for parking by going further inside the building to the pool check-in desk. Alternatively, you can launch boats at the Anicinabe Park docks. They also offer paid parking although it is significantly more expensive. It is, however, possible to park for free on the roadside outside the park. We recommend the Rec Centre public boat launch and parking.
This is a seasonal (summer) BOAT ACCESS only island. Guests must have a boat OR contact Green Adventures for shuttle (pick up/drop off) arrangements. Extra fees will apply.
We have a Lund WC16 with 50 hp Mercury available at the island for rent for $175 per day or $800 per week, not including fuel.

Includes access to a wood-fired sauna, dock, hiking trails & canoes, kayaks and SUPs. Guests provide pillows, season appropriate bedding & towels. Whether you are looking for rest or adventure, this cabin is the ideal home away from home! Built with timbers from a local sawmill this cozy dove-tail log cabin is set back into the forest part way up a small hill and is our most private accommodation. We named this cabin Nettle, after the prolific, healing wild herb that grows in our rich bottomlands and we hope your stay will be healing for you as well. (For those familiar with nettle’s stinging nature, rest assured there is no actual nettle growing near the cabin!)
The main floor of Nettle is furnished with a woodstove, queen-size futon with comfortable mattress, a well-equipped kitchenette and a small washroom with a sawdust composting toilet. Upstairs there is one bedroom with a platform queen bed and an additional twin mattress that can be pulled out to accommodate a fifth guest.
**Max 2 adults plus 3 kids.
** Guests bring their own bedding, pillows and towels.
Outside the cabin has a small porch, a picnic area and a fire-pit. A cedar shower, wood-fired sauna and dock are available a short walk away.
The kitchenette includes a camp cooler, 2-burner propane cook top, dishes and cookware including a French press coffee maker, dishpan and soap, drinking water and wash water. There is also a 2-burner propane stove on the porch and a grill for the fire-pit.
Filtered drinking water and wash water in 5 gallon camping jugs are included with the rental as Nettle does not have running water. Hot showers are available in a separate cedar pay shower that is located a short walk away. The cost is $1 for 5 minutes and we can make change for you if needed.
The cabin is part of Wild Woods Hideaway, a rustic eco-resort tucked into the forest and along the shores of Mink Bay, near Kenora, Ontario. In addition to cabin-specific features, your rental includes access to several shared amenities including a dock to sit on, swim and watch the sun set from, use of canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards (life-jackets included), hiking trails, wood-fired sauna and a cedar pay shower. Because Nettle is more secluded than our other rentals it is a bit further from the shower, sauna and dock, though still less than a 10 minute walk from everything. Nettle is also our only dog-friendly unit and is located next to the trailhead for the Mink Bay trails.
The head of Mink Bay has been designated a provincially significant wetland and many birds and other animals either make their homes along its shores or stop in during their seasonal migrations.
