Mountain Thyme is tastefully furnished in well-coordinated and functional pieces, all professionally chosen to enhance your vacation experience.

Mountain Thyme comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests (6 adults max) in 2 bedrooms plus a sleeping loft with bunks (no uncomfortable pull out sofa’s here). The oversized master bedroom is graced by a king-sized, Tempur-pedic mattress and premium linens. The bathroom has a shower, separate tub and makeup area. The guest bedroom downstairs features a queen bed, has dual closets and private access to the outdoors. Both bedrooms have flat screen TVs. There is an additional full bathroom on the main floor, which houses the laundry closet complete with a full-size washer and dryer.

The amazing loft has a total of 4 bunk beds and is the perfect retreat for kids (or those young at heart). It features a train table & various toys as well as an old school tabletop arcade game to keep everyone entertained for hours. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a wonderful family meal which can be enjoyed at the farmhouse style dining room table with room to seat everyone. As the evening winds down, the cozy and inviting living room is the perfect spot to relax. Enjoy the large flat screen TV with full cable and you can even access your Netflix, Hulu, or Pandora accounts on the Smart-Enabled BluRay DVD player. And yes, this cabin does have free WI-FI and your cell-phone should work just fine.

Mountain Thyme’s outdoors spaces truly are what make this cabin special. The screened-in porch, located just off the living room, seamlessly blends the indoors and out. Here you can enjoy swinging away those cool fall nights or morning coffee on a warm spring day. The upper porch is a breathtaking vantage point to enjoy the sights and sounds on the pond while lazily relaxing away the day. It’s the perfect spot to curl up with a good book in one of the uber-cozy chairs and let yourself be transported to a more relaxing pace of life.

The rear covered porch is as great spot to spy on the abundant wildlife in the woods such as deer, squirrels, raccoons, owls and a multitude of beautiful birds. Or just enjoy the peaceful sounds of rain on the metal roof. Even the side of the house has a covered space that you will appreciate when unloading the car should the weather be inclement.

The inviting fire pit features seating for everyone with adirondack chairs and bench seating is the perfect spot to share campfire stories or just become mesmerized by the dancing flames. Don’t worry about bringing wood, we’ve got that covered too. At some point, you’ll want to make a visit down to our dock on the pond, where a paddle boat awaits your voyage around the pond. Don’t forget to take a moment to feed the catfish (we have food, but they will eat most bread products). Once they have gained your trust, they may even let the adventurous pet them. There are plenty of woods to explore and special little spots to hide out and steal a moment of tranquility.

The best part of Mountain Thyme cabin is that we don’t want you to sweat the small stuff. We want your stay to be as relaxing, comfortable, and as convenient as possible. We include the the little things you typically don’t find in a cabin rental but are appreciated by our guests. Things like dish soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, salt & pepper, spices, batteries & more. This is our family cabin and we keep it ready to use, so enjoy the convenience of a truly ready-to-rent cabin. The kitchen is fully equipped with mixing bowls, pots, pans, utensils, griddle, blender, waffle maker and everything else you might need to prepare a perfect cabin meal. Also be sure to check the storage room off the back deck where you can find things like life preservers, fire starters, outdoor games like Bocce Ball and other stuff. And if the mood for gardening strikes you, there are tools for that, so have at it!

There are little surprises everywhere so feel free to enjoy everything available to you. Sometimes we will leave you stuff to make s’mores, a bottle of champagne or a 6-pack of beer. Who knows what you will find? We also have a variety of board games perfect for family nights around the table. The arcade game located in the loft features 50 of your favorite classics like Ms. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, DigDug, Frogger & more—and of course it’s free play so no quarters necessary. Our goal is for you to have a wonderful stay and return for years to come. We have tried to think of any and everything you might want during your visit to Mountain Thyme Cabin.

The cabin is easily accessible on good, flat roads just a couple minutes off the Monteagle exits. It is conveniently located less that 1 ½ hours drive from Nashville or Knoxville, 2 Hours from Atlanta and only 45 minutes from Chattanooga. Our cabin is just a few short minutes from the University of the South at Sewanee, St Andrews School, The Assembly Grounds and more. The area is known for its natural beauty, with soaring bluffs, creeks, waterfalls, rock outcroppings and tons of hiking trails to discover these wonderful spots. And if you are looking for nightlife, there a surprising number local dining establishments that are sure to impress. The town of Monteagle has all of the stores you may need plus a variety of shops and artisan markets to peruse. Please note though, this is not like Pigeon Forge. Prepare to relax and enjoy time with your friends and family, the outdoors, nature and just a slower pace of life away from the hustle and bustle.

I read the stories of the Swanee angels and the Monteagle Assembly to my granddaughter and it was a great way to familiarize ourselves with the area. We had a chance to hike the fiery gizzard and explore the Assembly lookout which were right up our alley of activities we were hoping for. Overall, we loved Mountain thyme Cabin and will certainly consider coming back again."

Tucked Inn is fully furnished and features three bedrooms, and two bathrooms (with heated floors), a fully furnished kitchen, upstairs living room with large screen TV, a sunroom that is just perfect for afternoon naps, and 1,000 square feet of porches and decks. Bedroom 3 has it's own entrance with a small porch and large double doors looking onto the upper deck. You'll also find a relaxing hot tub on the lower deck. Central heat and air is provided as well as a wood burning stove with plenty of firewood that provides warmth and ambiance on those cold winter nights. Wireless Internet is available.
Our guests are encouraged to enjoy our garden cottage, "Sunny Side Up". It is a lovely place to just hang out and enjoy a good book or catch a nap. The back porch of the cottage cantilevers over a forest area where deer and other forest animals have been spotted. A covered pavilion is also located near the cabin.
We hope our guests will enjoy the out of doors while visiting Tucked Inn. Hiking, walking, and biking trails are located on the property and it's always fun to sit around our large fire pit after a fun filled day in the mountains! Plenty of firewood is on hand for use in the fire pit.
Tucked Inn is located only 8 miles from the heart of Monteagle with easy access to I-24. The University of the South at Sewanee is located only minutes from Tucked Inn.

This beautiful Log Cabin offers comfort with a quiet setting and a porch swing! Boasting spacious rooms, a comfy living area, a grill space, and a private yard, it`s only a short drive to small-town friendliness. With a fire pit, picnic table, and room to run and play, it`s packed with amenities and ready for your next getaway. Take a walk on the Mountain Goat Trail or go to one of several fabulous eateries in Monteagle. Just a few minutes more and you can be in Sewanee or at The Caverns from this great location. It`s only 7 miles from Monteagle and only 15-20 minutes from Sewanee and The Caverns. World-renowned hiking is only 10 minutes away at the Fiery Gizzard and a mile from the Mountain Goat Trail. Located 1.25+ hrs. from Nashville and 1 hr. from Chattanooga. We have driveway space for your trailer, and the Coalmont OHV Park is just a few minutes up the road.

This log home boasts a super comfortable loft with a queen-sized futon. Complete with Wifi, this is a great space to catch up on some work or study for that next exam, or settle down with a good book. Downstairs has a TV and a comfy sofa for kicking back. The front porch has a great swing and grill, along with chairs for relaxing. With a secluded picnic table and fire ring, this is the ideal setting to get away from it all!

We check in our guests with a warm welcome, a brief tour, and answer any questions they may have.

This is a quiet neighborhood, and there are no immediate neighbors close to the cabin. The bluff is a 30-second walk down the road, and the street is a great place to walk or run.

We are 7 minutes from Interstate 24 and a mile from the Mountain Goat Trail, where folks run, walk, bike, and rollerblade. We are within 30-45 minutes of some incredible waterfalls, along with world-class sites and hiking.

We do charge $10 per night/guest over the initial two registered guests.

We like to check in all our guests personally. This allows for any questions to be answered and to provide all the information we can about the lodge. You are required to text us your ETA and when you arrive at the interstate exit so we can meet you at the property for check-in. If other accommodations are needed, you will need to make those known prior to arrival, as well.

We maintain a strict no pet and no smoking policy. Please respect the property by following these rules.

The living room television has a Roku device for easy access to Netflix or other channels you may have access to. We provide Netflix, Hulu, and ESPN+ free of charge.

We want you to feel at home. Please find extra pillows, blankets, throws, games, and other items inside the chest and the closets in your bedroom for your use.

***Remove makeup and staining elements prior to laying in beds or on any linen or cloth surfaces! Stains from make-up, food, drinks, blood, or other kinds on linens and towels will result in a charge of $50 for stained linen (sheets, pillows, etc) and $10 per stained towel, $8 for hand towel or washcloth.***

If you stain something with blood, please soak the towel or linen in COLD water immediately. If something is stained, please let us know so we can help get it washed and avoid permanent staining. If you hide the stained items or fail to tell us, it will result in immediate charges against your deposit. Otherwise, we will work with you to get the stains out.

Other items that are broken will result in a damage charge. You are responsible for broken plates and other dishes, glasses, stemware, etc. and you will be responsible for paying for them through the security deposit for broken and missing items. This applies to household appliances, furniture, and other home decor and accessories.

If you break something, please do not hide it or not tell us. By informing us of lost or broken dishes or items, you are a good guest and can still receive a positive review.

The kitchen contains extra paper towels, disposable drinking cups, and paper plates for your convenience.
Please use the AC/Heat responsibly. If you are leaving for the day, there is no reason to run the AC lower just to cool the space you are not using. Be considerate of the environment and our property.

Both bathrooms have extra towels in the linen closets and other supplies in the same place or under the sink. We are on septic, so please do not flush personal hygiene items.

Important: the stairs leading to the loft are very steep so it’s probably not the best option for young children or the elderly.

During the winter months from Christmas to March, the washer/dryer will be unavailable due to freezing weather.

This beautiful Log Cabin offers comfort with a quiet setting and a porch swing! Boasting spacious rooms, a comfy living area, a grill space, and a private yard, it's only a short drive to small-town friendliness. With a fire pit, picnic table, and room to run and play, it's packed with amenities and ready for your next getaway. Take a walk on the Mountain Goat Trail or go to one of several fabulous eateries in Monteagle. Just a few minutes more and you can be in Sewanee or at The Caverns from this great location. It's only 7 miles from Monteagle and only 15-20 minutes from Sewanee and The Caverns. World-renowned hiking is only 10 minutes away at the Fiery Gizzard and a mile from the Mountain Goat Trail. Located 1.25+ hrs. from Nashville and 1 hr. from Chattanooga. We have driveway space for your trailer, and the Coalmont OHV Park is just a few minutes up the road.

This log home boasts a super comfortable loft with a queen-sized futon. Complete with Wifi, this is a great space to catch up on some work or study for that next exam, or just settle down with a good book. Downstairs has a TV and a wonderful sofa for kicking back. The front porch has a great swing and grill, along with chairs for relaxing. With a secluded picnic table and fire ring, this is the ideal setting to get away from it all!

The space
The cabin is 1625 sq feet. When you walk in the front door you are in the great room that faces out onto the porch and the view. The dining area is in this room with a very well stocked kitchen. One bedroom with ensuite bathroom (which has some handicap features like grab bars and shower stool) is on this level. Upstairs there's a queen bed in the loft and off that room is the bunk beds and a master bathroom. In the loft is also a desk and ergonomic chair for working with a great view of the ridge. Outside under the wood shed is a charcoal grill. Fire pit is on the terrace with a table and chairs for eating. Great view from the terrace as well. There's a carport for guest use. There's a standby generator in case of power outage - that is, the power will never go out. Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms throughout.

Our secluded cabin is situated on 18 private acres of lush and secluded Tennessee forests. Come and sleep among the trees!

The space
The cabin recently had a complete makeover - all furniture, cookware, tv's, grills, etc. are brand new. The cabin features an expansive outdoor deck, brand new king-sized nectar mattresses (rated by US News as the best memory foam mattress in 2021!), fiber internet, excellent cell reception, two 4k smart tv's, surround sound, three hammocks, a private lounging area, board games, foosball table, and a gas fireplace. We also recently constructed a gorgeous salt water, cedar hot tub. The tub seats 8 adults and is surrounded by trees. A truly exquisite place to relax under the stars!

Guests of the cabin can choose between two firepits, one massive pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs to the front of the cabin, and a smaller one located on our observation deck 16’ off the ground. Both are spectacular places to enjoy a fire with friends and family. We keep firewood stocked and available for our guests.

The Cabin is a short 7 minute drive to downtown Monteagle (and the Monteagle Assembly), which hosts numerous great restaurants and antique shoppes. It’s a 15 minute drive from the campus of the University of the South at Sewanee, where you can find many wonderful activities including the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and visiting Sewanee’s famous All Saints Chapel. The cabin is a short 25 minute drive to the Caverns, a notable Bluegrass music venue set in a cave. For those interested in day trips to the bigger cities, we’re 45 minutes to Chattanooga and 90 minutes to Nashville.

Monteagle Mountain is one of the most stunning natural areas in Tennessee, designated nationally by the Natural Resources Defense Council as a "bio-gem" due to its rich diversity of wildlife, trees, birds and other species. The Cabin is a 10 minute drive to the South Cumberland State Park, a 31,000 acre park filled with world-class hiking trails and waterfalls, including the Fiery Gizzard Trail, Grundy Lakes, and Foster Falls. Beautiful area lakes including Tims Ford Lake, Nickajack Lake, Normandy Lake, and Woods Reservoir offer fantastic fishing, boating, and water sport activities.

The space
This cabin is set on a quiet .5 acres at the end of a gravel road. Perfect for large groups, friends or families. Guests will have ample amount of space to lounge and have a great amount of fun.

As you enter the cabin, you will have access to a full kitchen stocked with cooking accessories, a coffee bar and s'mores fixings! The dining table seats 12 people and 2 additional bar stools are located near the kitchen island. We do ask that guests not use the fireplace in the front dining room please.

The first bedroom boasts a king bed with a smart TV and a desk for remote work access. Down the hall are two full bathrooms and another bedroom with a queen bed and smart TV.

Once you arrive at the kids playroom, across the hall is the door to a full over full bunk bed with individual reading lamps on each bed's adjacent wall.

In the living room (also labeled "game room"), you will find a huge comfortable couch, another smart tv and an electric heated fireplace. You can play a variety of games such as pool, ski ball, darts, connect four, and any board games you find in the closet behind the couch. Turn on the neon sign and make plenty of 'Mountain Memories' as you battle your friends or family!

Off the game room will be the gym/wellness room with a 2-3 person sauna, and a space for yoga or light weight lifting. This is a screened-in room, so it will be cold in the winter and warm in the summer.

Continue through the cabin to find a sunroom with large windows and streaming sunlight. Take a seat on the couch, two barrel chairs or the swing chair; while you drink a cup of coffee, play cards with the group or read a book. You may exit the sunroom to the upper deck to rock in the large rocking chairs, cook on the grill, or have your kiddos slide down the slide to the bottom level (please no one over 150 lbs).

Down the stairs from the sunroom, you will enter the basement bedroom with two queen trundle beds that pull out into two additional twin beds. This bedroom boasts a smart TV and a fun neon sign. Off of this bedroom is a full bathroom with a stand up shower. You may exit the basement to the bottom deck where you will find outdoor games, and a NEW 7 person hot tub!!

The fire pit seats 8 with extra seats available for the entire 14 guests. Fire wood and fire starter will be stored under the cover for your convenience.

Please mind the details in the guest access section for property lines and boundaries, but feel free to explore!

You are welcome to use the entire property during your stay. The property stretches from the carport in the front to the creek in the backyard, and the tree lines on either side of the cabin. You may walk to the pond, but please do not fish or enter under any circumstances. We do not own this pond.

We do ask that you avoid entering the shed and 2 locked closets in the cabin. These are for cleaner/owner use.
