This incredible log cabin is nestled among the huge pine trees of Brighton, Utah. It is surrounded by by the beautiful Wasatch mountains, which make skiing and snowboarding in the winter extremely amazing. Brighton Ski Resort is 10 minutes walking distance, and Solitude Ski Resort is only a 5 minute drive. The snow up here is the greatest snow on earth! The Nordic Center is a 5 minute walk, and offers snow covered trails for cross country skiing or snow shoeing in winter, or hiking in the summer. Silver Lake is located here at the Nordic center, and offers amazing hiking trails, and great fishing in the Summer and Fall. Trout abound in this beautiful mountain lake, and is only a 5 minute walk. The cabin itself is secluded, and off the main road. It is totally remodeled recently with no expenses spared. All is new inside and out with the exception of the two story fireplace, and the full log walls. This beautiful cabin is full of charm. There is nothing more cozy than sitting in front of the fireplace on a frosty winter day.

Gretsky's Great Escape at Brighton Ski Resort is a large 2,000 sq ft, family owned and operated cabin by Emily and Alex Gretsky.

Located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, we are about .01 mile from the base of Brighton Ski Resort and .05 miles up-canyon from Solitude Ski Resort.

We have easy, year round access. It’s off the main Big Cottonwood Canyon road. Our cabin is situated up-canyon from the Guardsman Pass road; in the summer months this provides direct access over the Wasatch ridge to the Park City & Deer Valley! There is plenty to do from our doorstep without ever getting in your car: Biking, hiking, explore Silver Lake Nature area, and of course skiing in the winter months!

*Great Room, 2 large leather sofas next to gorgeous new custom Limestone high output fireplace with Walnut mantle. This is visible from the kitchen and dining areas.

Located 13.7 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon, we have easy year-round access. Once at the cabin, you can walk or bike over over to Molly Green's Pub or grab a burger at the Milly Chalet at Brighton Ski Resort. There are plenty of things to do when your legs are worn out!

Brighton Ski Resort and the Solitude Nordic Center are a short walk across the base of the Brighton “loop” road; 3-5 min walk from our front door.

IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE: Absolutely NO DOGS ALLOWED. Not only is it illegal to have dogs in Big Cottonwood Canyon due to watershed and forest service regulations but the owners of this property have a serious pet allergy that prohibits animals of any kind. If staff or neighbors report the presence of dogs/ animals of any kind, the guests will have to be ask to vacate and pay for additional sanitizing. We apologize for such strict precautions. Events, weddings, large gatherings, or accommodating more than the designated number of people a booked property is advertised to sleep is not permissible at any time during your stay. 12 persons max occupancy. We do charge additional fee per guest over 8 people so please be accurate with your guest count. Failure to add accurate guest count to your booking may result in you being asked to vacate property without refund. There are cameras on site, be honest. Due to restrictive ordinances and the desires of owners to preserve the peace and tranquility of neighbors and our community, these "events" are not permitted, ever, as they can be disruptive and are additional wear and tear on the property and grounds. We apologize for the limitations this may put on your plans to stay with us, but please understand that we must (and will) make every effort to monitor, enforce and protect the interest of our owners and our community. In the event you are found to have violated this rule you may face potential legal or financial penalties. Quiet time is from 10pm-7am. Please keep this in mind when using outside decks and hot tub. The hot tub cannot be used during the quiet hours of 10pm-7am. Noise ordinances are strictly enforce by owner and local police. If you are coming to party please choose another property as this is not allowed at our cabin and Big Cottonwood Canyon in general.

Minutes from Solitude Ski Resort, five minutes from Brighton Ski Resort; Snowbird, Alta and Park City are just a short drive away. It is tucked away in a private canyon, yet only 12 miles from Salt Lake City with shopping, dining, movies, major league sports, and more.

Beautiful wood floors and wood accents throughout make this home a truly mountain experience. Large great room with a wood burning fireplace is perfect for entertaining; step out onto the large deck with stunning views of the mountains. The private 5 person hot tub is awaiting you after a long day of skiing and snowboarding. The Family room is great place for relaxing and watching TV.

On the top level there are 2 bedrooms. The bedroom on the right has a queen bed and a set of bunks. The bedroom on the left has a queen bed. There is a bathroom on that floor with 2 sinks and a shower with double shower heads.

For our guests safety, as well as security of the property, there are two security monitor/light systems outside the home. One is above the garage door, and one is near the outside stairs.

History, family and beauty can all be found in this legacy private and unique spot at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon in Brighton Utah.
Our Alpine Lodge completed in 2009, sits on more then an acre of pristine forest next to Silver Lake. Skiing and snowboarding at Brighton Resort are close enough to walk, and if your passion is Nordic skiing then you have world class snowfall and skiing from our door and on to the groomed tracks of the Solitude Nordic Center. A beautiful mountain setting, large kitchen, hot tub and laundry are all here. 2000 sq ft of decking insure that you will enjoy the mountain air even if you would just like to sit in a chair.
The decor is warm and natural with stone, slate and special features including a wood burning stove with fuel provided. A giant antique bathtub will delight you and a steam shower will warm your bones after a day on the slopes. Second floor decks give the tree house in the woods vibe.
Kids love climbing the ladder to the upper loft that is full of toys for them. After the sun goes down, you can light a fire, watch TV on a crisp 80" flat screen and relax.

- "Beautiful cabin in an ideal location, right next to the start of the Silver Lake trail. Ample living space, wonderful storage for our "stuff," great bedrooms and beautiful large outdoor decks. Our 12 grandkids especially loved the bunk room, where they got to have a giant cousin sleepover! We saw moose across the street every day, and several species of birds and a deer from the back deck. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed. Robin promptly answered a couple of questions we had. We had a fantastic experience."
