This incredible log cabin is nestled among the huge pine trees of Brighton, Utah. It is surrounded by by the beautiful Wasatch mountains, which make skiing and snowboarding in the winter extremely amazing. Brighton Ski Resort is 10 minutes walking distance, and Solitude Ski Resort is only a 5 minute drive. The snow up here is the greatest snow on earth! The Nordic Center is a 5 minute walk, and offers snow covered trails for cross country skiing or snow shoeing in winter, or hiking in the summer. Silver Lake is located here at the Nordic center, and offers amazing hiking trails, and great fishing in the Summer and Fall. Trout abound in this beautiful mountain lake, and is only a 5 minute walk. The cabin itself is secluded, and off the main road. It is totally remodeled recently with no expenses spared. All is new inside and out with the exception of the two story fireplace, and the full log walls. This beautiful cabin is full of charm. There is nothing more cozy than sitting in front of the fireplace on a frosty winter day.

Gretsky's Great Escape at Brighton Ski Resort is a large 2,000 sq ft, family owned and operated cabin by Emily and Alex Gretsky.

Located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, we are about .01 mile from the base of Brighton Ski Resort and .05 miles up-canyon from Solitude Ski Resort.

We have easy, year round access. It’s off the main Big Cottonwood Canyon road. Our cabin is situated up-canyon from the Guardsman Pass road; in the summer months this provides direct access over the Wasatch ridge to the Park City & Deer Valley! There is plenty to do from our doorstep without ever getting in your car: Biking, hiking, explore Silver Lake Nature area, and of course skiing in the winter months!

Located 13.7 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon, we have easy year-round access. Once at the cabin, you can walk or bike over over to Molly Green's Pub or grab a burger at the Milly Chalet at Brighton Ski Resort. There are plenty of things to do when your legs are worn out!

Brighton Ski Resort and the Solitude Nordic Center are a short walk across the base of the Brighton “loop” road; 3-5 min walk from our front door.

IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE: Absolutely NO DOGS ALLOWED. Not only is it illegal to have dogs in Big Cottonwood Canyon due to watershed and forest service regulations but the owners of this property have a serious pet allergy that prohibits animals of any kind. If staff or neighbors report the presence of dogs/ animals of any kind, the guests will have to be ask to vacate and pay for additional sanitizing. We apologize for such strict precautions. Events, weddings, large gatherings, or accommodating more than the designated number of people a booked property is advertised to sleep is not permissible at any time during your stay. 12 persons max occupancy. We do charge additional fee per guest over 8 people so please be accurate with your guest count. Failure to add accurate guest count to your booking may result in you being asked to vacate property without refund. There are cameras on site, be honest. Due to restrictive ordinances and the desires of owners to preserve the peace and tranquility of neighbors and our community, these "events" are not permitted, ever, as they can be disruptive and are additional wear and tear on the property and grounds. Pine Tree Cabin is a beautiful vacation rental in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Minutes from Solitude Ski Resort, five minutes from Brighton Ski Resort; Snowbird, Alta and Park City are just a short drive away. It is tucked away in a private canyon, yet only 12 miles from Salt Lake City with shopping, dining, movies, major league sports, and more.

Beautiful wood floors and wood accents throughout make this home a truly mountain experience. Large great room with a wood burning fireplace is perfect for entertaining; step out onto the large deck with stunning views of the mountains. The private 5 person hot tub is awaiting you after a long day of skiing and snowboarding. The Family room is great place for relaxing and watching TV.

On the top level there are 2 bedrooms. The bedroom on the right has a queen bed and a set of bunks. The bedroom on the left has a queen bed. There is a bathroom on that floor with 2 sinks and a shower with double shower heads.

Our Alpine Lodge completed in 2009, sits on more then an acre of pristine forest next to Silver Lake. Skiing and snowboarding at Brighton Resort are close enough to walk, and if your passion is Nordic skiing then you have world class snowfall and skiing from our door and on to the groomed tracks of the Solitude Nordic Center. A beautiful mountain setting, large kitchen, hot tub and laundry are all here. 2000 sq ft of decking insure that you will enjoy the mountain air even if you would just like to sit in a chair.
The decor is warm and natural with stone, slate and special features including a wood burning stove with fuel provided. A giant antique bathtub will delight you and a steam shower will warm your bones after a day on the slopes. Second floor decks give the tree house in the woods vibe.
Kids love climbing the ladder to the upper loft that is full of toys for them. After the sun goes down, you can light a fire, watch TV on a crisp 80" flat screen and relax.

- "Beautiful cabin in an ideal location, right next to the start of the Silver Lake trail. Ample living space, wonderful storage for our "stuff," great bedrooms and beautiful large outdoor decks. Our 12 grandkids especially loved the bunk room, where they got to have a giant cousin sleepover! We saw moose across the street every day, and several species of birds and a deer from the back deck. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed. Robin promptly answered a couple of questions we had. We had a fantastic experience."

This 1 bedroom, luxury master bath is perfect for the couple who want to be skiing from the moment they wake up and return to a cozy romantic retreat!

For those of you that want the experience of skiing directly into the front door of the cabin, you will be able to do so off the great western ski run. This is a black diamond run. You can also take a vantage of the free shuttle, which picks up directly in front of the cabin every 10 to 15 minutes and there’s a few minute ride over to the main resort where you can select the lift that you would like to start your day with. At the end of the day you can jump back on the same shuttle, which will drop you off right in front of the cabin.

You will have access to the entire cabin. If there is anything you need, please just shoot us a message or give us a call. We will be at the bottom of the canyon and at your beck and call.

Unfortunately, no pets are allowed in the canyon. It is a watershed canyon that provides drinking water to Salt Lake County. There is a substantial fine if the sheriff or neighbors see you with a dog in the canyon.
Other things to note
Skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, snowshoeing, and rock climbing are all accessible right out the front door at Moose Meadow Manor! We will leave you directions to some of our favorite local hikes as well as a few sets of snowshoes and some snow fort-making molds to enjoy the snow even when you aren't making turns at the resorts.

In the warmer months, drive over beautiful Guardsman's Pass to visit Park City in a short 30 minutes!

Another perk for renting Mystic Moose are the owners ;). We love the Wasatch mountains and have extensive knowledge of the mountains and resorts. We will be able to provide suggestions for hikes, snowshoeing trails, backcountry access, snow conditions/avi resources, which resorts have the best snow, etc. We also own season passes to Wasatch resorts and if the timing works, will meet guests on the slopes for personal tours.....basically giving you the local tips.

We do our best to maintain the hot tub but availability of our hot tub is not guaranteed.

We have strived to retain its rustic beauty while making it a comfortable, year-round retreat in the woods. Enchanting, seclusion and tranquility describe our amazing cabin. Enjoy cooler Summer temps here at 8,800 feet and the greatest snow on earth in the Winter. Snow tires / 4x4 required.
Please see important info on other details to note. Because of SLC watershed regulations pets are not allowed in canyon. Due to the historic nature of the property, if you have young children, please inquire first. 4x4 required in the winter. Also, the cabin does not accommodate really tall people very well. Ceiling heights average of around 6' 2" in much of the cabin. So if you are tall, please note.

Cozy little cabin had everything we needed including a serviceable kitchen, comfortable main area, with Alexa for music and TV with Netflix, comfortable beds, clean bathroom with hot shower, and a fun wood-burning fireplace. Was not exactly walking distance to the resort but was easy to have a non-skier in our group shuttle us back and forth. - "We loved our stay in this lovely VRBO, hidden amongst the pines and in the beautiful setting of big Cottonwood Canyon! The stream running through the backyard and the wildflowers made for the perfect picturesque view from the dining room. We all enjoyed some R & R resting in the hammock, listening to the creek and watching the hummingbirds flitter about. We stayed here to be close to Spruces campground where our daughter was married August 2nd. The entire weekend was perfect and we felt right at home in this lovely cabin. I would recommend you read the listing description well - this cabin does have some steep stairs to the second floor and some rugs that may be difficult for older individuals to manage ( i.e. my 85 year old Mom) but this truly is a gem of a rental for those seeking a peaceful retreat with beautiful surroundings. - "Sharlee's unit at Iron Blosam is small but perfect. While the building was finished in 1974, all the fixtures have since been updated, and everything is in working order. The unit has a full kitchenette, which is great, since cooking meals at the resort is a great way to connect with friends and save money at expensive restaurants. It's a short walk over to Snowbird, and Alta is a short bus ride away. Highly recommended for Ikon pass holders."

The larger, uncovered section of the deck is home to a magnificent 6-person hot tub, offering the ultimate way to enjoy a serene body, a peaceful mind, and tranquil moments in nature. During late spring, summer, or fall, the deck transforms into an idyllic spot for day-long relaxation.

The entire cabin is yours to enjoy, complete with a brand-new hot tub. You'll find ample parking space for up to two vehicles in the driveway. Please note that due to our frequent Utah snowstorms, we recommend all-wheel drive or 4x4 vehicles equipped with snow tires for safe access.
Other things to note
• While we adore pets, it's important to note that they are not permitted on the property or within the canyon itself. The area is designated as a watershed, and bringing animals into the canyon can result in fines or penalties.
* Like so many of the older cabins, the stairs leading to the second floor might be perceived as steep by some, and not suitable for those with mobility challenges. However, we’ve recently installed a sturdy handrail for added safety and support.
• The path from the driveway to the cabin may have snow accumulation. We make efforts to keep it clear between snowstorms for your convenience.
• We have a camera positioned outside the cabin for your safety and to oversee road and driveway conditions, particularly for snow removal purposes.

Our cabin is built into a slope with large windows and open spaces. Enjoy cooking in the chef’s kitchen with a convection oven, large range, and island seating for 7. Enjoy meals with friends and family surrounded by views of pine trees and mountains in the elegant dining room. Relax in one of multiple cozy nooks, play ping pong, or take time for yoga and meditation in the large multipurpose room.

There are 3 private bedrooms with bed spaces for 20 in 11 different beds (Brighton restricts to 15 adults). There are 4 full bathrooms with three showers and one shower bath. There is a 3 car enclosed garage available for guests with additional uncovered parking in the driveway.

We have a large back deck with a smoker for grilling, fire pit, and hot tub for guests. There is another deck off the master and a small balcony off the multi-purpose room. Two large picnic tables in the back can seat 16.

*Note: In winter months (November-April) Big Cottonwood Canyon requires snow tires AND 4 wheel or AWD for any cars coming up the canyon.

- "We were able to book this house somewhat last minute as we decided to go to Brighton/Solitude/Alta instead of Park City due to the uncertainty surrounding the ski patrol strike. The owner was extremely responsive and accommodating to our situation and helped us get booked quickly. The house is in a great location only a very short drive from Brighton (you can see the slopes from the back porch of the house)...you could also walk down to the shuttle bus as well which isn't far but would take approx 10-15 minutes in ski boots. The house itself is almost brand new, is huge and has everything you could want in a ski vacation - two bedrooms w/ king beds and nice bathrooms, a kids room that would fit 5, and a giant all-purpose room with hang-out area, ping pong, exercise space and another 3 beds. The garage was great so our vehicles were warm and free of snow in the AM. The hot tub was great after long day of skiing and we used the huge Traeger smoker to cook up some pork one day. Highly recommend for families, and we will be returning again!"

To ensure your privacy, the cabin and main house are separated by approximately 100ft of yard space. If you'd like to book the main home for a fully private experience, contact us for info on pricing.

Please note that the lawn care crew will access the exterior space once a week, and a yard maintenance team will access the yard once a month. These service providers will only access exterior areas and will not enter indoor spaces.

For safety, security, and enforcement of house rules, we have installed 3 exterior security cameras on the premises. One camera overlooks the front yard and driveway, and two cameras monitor the backyard, including the patios and back parking area.

Please note that these cameras are solely for security purposes and to enforce house rules. They are not actively monitored unless there is a safety concern or security issue. We prioritize the privacy of our guests and do not use these cameras for any other purpose.

Our style is a CLEAN, CRISP and COZY.

We are locals. We will be onsite to balance the hot tub and remove snow as needed.

Please include the accurate number of total guests (12 ppl maximum) for your stay including children, infants, or friends that may stay overnight or part of your stay.

Our team needs to know what to expect in advance to staff properly and estimate cleaning time properly. Please note that we do charge an extra per person fee for groups larger than 8ppl.

Our cabin is a gem! Look no further!
Alex and Emily are hands on owners with an attention to detail like no other! They manage the cabin personally and are able to do repairs and maintenance constantly to keep the cabin in prime shape for guests! They take great pride in providing the perfect getaway for guests. The cabin easily accommodates large groups and multiple families due to the 3 levels, and 2 full kitchens.

Guest access
You have access to the entire cabin. It is 3 levels, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 Kitchens, 2 decks (front and rear). Back deck has private hot tub for 8 people. With booking, guests also have access to the backyard with plenty of room for kids to run around in the forest and enjoy to nature!

Parking is limited to 2 spots unless prearranged with owners.

Other things to note
12 guest maximum at any time. No exceptions!
If you have more than 12 guests or are not accurate about the total number of guests in your party, you will be required to check-out early and forfeit any remaining days of your stay with no refund.

In Summer months, you can walk over to the Silver Lake Nature preserve to walk the boardwalk, fish, or just enjoy the scenery! Watch for Moose! They are commonly seen at Silver Lake, eating the grasses in the wetland!

IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE: Absolutely NO DOGS ALLOWED. Not only is it illegal to have dogs in Big Cottonwood Canyon due to watershed and forest service regulations but the owners of this property have a serious pet allergy that prohibits animals of any kind. If staff or neighbors report the presence of dogs, the guests will have to be ask to vacate and pay for additional sanitizing. We apologize for such strict precautions. Events, weddings, large gatherings, or accommodating more than the designated number of people a booked property is advertised to sleep is not permissible at any time during your stay. Due to restrictive ordinances and the desires of owners to preserve the peace and tranquility of neighbors and our community, these "events" are not permitted, ever, as they can be disruptive and are additional wear and tear on the property and grounds. We apologize for the limitations this may put on your plans to stay with us, but please understand that we must (and will) make every effort to monitor, enforce and protect the interest of our owners and our community. In the event you are found to have violated this rule you may face potential legal or financial penalties. Quiet time is from 10pm-7am. Please keep this in mind when using outside decks and hot tub. Noise ordinances are strictly enforce by owner and local police. If you are coming to party hard please choose another area as this in not allowed in Big Cottonwood Canyon. .
