- "Absolutely loved our stay at hope cottage! Got there was and was pleasantly surprised by how cosey and warm it was. The cottage is equipped with everything you need and the fact that there was WiFi and a fire TV made it even better as we stayed there from 24th-27th December so wanted to watch a couple Christmas films whilst we were there. The pubs nearby do amazing food and the locals are friendly and welcoming. My partner asked me to be his wife in the cottage on Christmas day so we went to the Crispin and ended up partying with the locals there. The only downside was the dishwasher was flooded when we got there and the duvets are just overwhelmingly warm even if the heating is on low. Would be nice if there was a couple more duvets in the cupboard that are a thinner tog incase you get to warm in the night. :) But apart from that, we really enjoyed it and would recommend! Would love to come back. Thankyou to the owner for our complimentary Biscuits and soft drinks/juice."

The beer garden is lovely in summer too.
Keep walking a little further to Little Longstone and here you will find The Packhorse Inn, recently voted one of the cosiest pubs in the UK. It's definitely worth booking a table for food and you won't be disappointed, the food is all homemade with some excellent seasonal and local sourced produce. They have a great beer and guests ales alongside a great wine selection, all nestled in its cosy rooms with roaring fires and their indoor/outdoor beer garden is a great space for summer drinks. Head there on a Thursday to partake in the popular and hilarious charity pub quiz. A real hidden gem.
