- "My husband and I stayed recently at The Nook for a week and we were welcomed by Sara and a little later by Wilson. The cottage is in beautiful surroundings and as a Macclesfield girl, I felt at home. It was all ready for us when we arrived and was very clean. There was everything we needed including milk in the fridge for a lovely cup of tea. The cottage has been renovated in keeping with the surroundings and is charming. We had a comfortable stay. We will definitely visit again in the future and hopefully be able to go for some walks. This stay we didn’t have time as we were visiting family. Thank you to both Sara & Wilson and hopefully see you soon or when Covid permits. Take care Annie & Phil. October 2020 xx"

Thank you for a wonderful stay." - "Just returned from a short break at this very impressive property. The owners were warm and welcoming and have thought of everything that you might need, it appears that no expense has been spared. The location is perfect if you enjoy cycling or walking but be warned that it is almost half a mile from the cottage to the main road and its uphill, luckily it is laid with tarmac and provides a nice smooth ride! Also it means in a downhill finish after a hard ride in the peaks. If you want a nice peaceful retreat in a brilliant location then this is it."

- "We loved staying at 4 Washpool Cottages and would definitely come back again. The view out of the back of the cottage was spectacular. We know the area well as we have relatives living nearby but the large number of footpaths in the area meant we explored parts of Rainow and the surrounding area that we had never been to before. Within 5 minutes walk of the cottage you can be out in the middle of nowhere by the babbling brook at the bottom of the field, watching the sun set over White Nancy and the Kerridge Ridge. The cottage was very comfortable. The multi-fuel burner heated the property and the hot water with no trouble (and adequate fuel was provided, along with firelighters and kindling etc). The kitchen was well equipped with all the cooking equipment you could ask for - and the knives were sharp (which is not always the case in holiday accommodation!). Blankets were provided in the living room for use when the room was a little chilly first thing in the morning whilst waiting for the fire to burst into life. Duvets and bedspreads were warm too. Plenty of information provided in the cottage including some useful maps of the local area showing the footpaths. Parking was the only slightly iffy thing, but we didn't experience any problem during the time we were there. The road outside the cottage is a 50mph road and leaving the car outside meant parking it on the road. We did try parking on the grass to tuck the car in a bit but there is a water main running through here so parking on the grass is a definite no no. Thankfully we had brought the old car as we had been moving our son's belongings at Uni. The cottage owners were really helpful moving their car up a bit to allow us to squeeze in behind them over their driveway. We had a bicycle light with us which we displayed in the back window of the car overnight as a warning. I guess the road is used mainly by people who are familiar with the area and know that cars are often parked here. You could always park your car further down in the village and walk back up to the cottage if you needed to."
