The cottage was absolutely perfect, there were plenty of lovely walks around, we hired E-bikes through Bear Trax which was fun. All local amenities which included shops, pubs and restaurants (dog friendly) were within easy walking distance. Highly recommend this cottage and we will definitely be back to stay again." - "Great location, descriptions and details on the website very accurate, really enjoyed."

There is parking on the next couple of streets or a public car park right across the road of the home. Straight inside into the lovely living room, the sofa is lush and comfortable.Tv has everything you will need. Not just 5 channels but abundant of channels. Kitchen has everything you need there was complimentory items as well which was great you could have a cuppa before you go adventuring. ... Bathroom : shower was pristine and i'd forgotten my toothpaste! no fears, complimentary on hand phew!Bedroom: I had to have a sneeky peek at the makers of the bed as it was so comfortable and it made me laugh when i found the tag... ( have a look! Dont want to be a spolier) Even though it is on the main road it was quiet at night and I had a good few good nights sleep. Even during winter time the home was warm.I went on my own and felt so very safe the village is lovely lots of walking to do. Community very friendly very welcoming. I am going back and truth be told in those four days I was there I was sad to leave. It really was a santuary."

Note:
Please note that the property is on the site of an old hill farm. We do occasionally get snow in the winter and very occasionally this can mean leaving the car in the village and an adventurous walk up the hill (about 15 mins) to get to the cottage.

By car:
From Wrexham, Chester and the North follow the A483 on to the A5 South. From Shrewsbury, Birmingham, London and the South, follow the M54 on to the A5 North. At the Gledrid roundabout turn off the A5 for Chirk. Follow signs for Glyn Ceiriog and the Ceiriog Valley. Follow the valley road for about 5 miles through Pontfadog and Dolywern and into Glyn Ceiriog. At the mini-roundabout take Quarry Road between the village shop and the Glyn Valley Hotel. Continue up Quarry Road for about half a mile until the road turns into a track in a clearing in the wood. Take a hairpin right up a steep track and follow the signs to the right for the holiday cottage.
If you have a query before your arrival, please do get in touch. Otherwise you can just turn up any time after 5.00pm and the keys will be in the door. If we finish changeover earlier than that, which we frequently do, we’ll be sure to let you know right away on the day. Make yourselves at home and we will pop down to say hello on your arrival day or shortly after. If you need to pick up some basic provisions, the village shop, Cross Stores, is open from 7.30am (8.00am weekends) to 8.30pm. Further guidance, instructions and advice await you in the cottage.
On your day of departure please vacate the cottage by 10.00am (to allow for Covid secure cleaning). Please leave the cottage clean and tidy, the keys in the backdoor and don’t forget to give us a review!

You are spoilt for choice with walks and outdoor activities. The house is a few minutes walk to the ChainBridge (historic pub/restaurant) over the River Dee

The little red brick house is a real tardis with high ceilings which give the rooms a light and airy feel. The space is made up of bedroom, living space, and kitchenette with a shower and 2 toilets; a perfect set up for comfortable living.
The main bedroom boasts an ensuite toilet, king sized bed and French doors opening on to the deck. With the view of the birds and mountains, it can be hard to get out of bed! The living room is complete with a sofa bed, electric fire, TV radio and DVD player with enough films to keep you occupied on a cosy night in.
The phone signal at the house is poor but the Internet is excellent with high speed Wi-Fi with 80 Mbs download and 20 Mbs upload speeds.
The kitchenette has everything you need for a truly self catering break. Electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dining seating for 4, washing machine and dishwasher, fridge and freezer, all the usual utensils and pans you would expect and a slow cooker to keep you easily fed after a day of exploring.

If hot tubs are your thing then you won’t be disappointed with the set up in the Piggery. Perfect after a day of adventures or spending a day relaxing in the sun surrounded by near 360° of green.
We have recently got two beautiful horse neighbours, Siskin and Thrift who live in the field next-door door.
