With close access to the Ashuwillticook rail trail and a short drive to convenient shopping and restaurants, this is a perfect location for your Berkshire getaway. Relax on the private back porch, or in the large bath tub. Cook meals in the full kitchen, or do some writing at the desk with views of the pond. Sleep in late in the king sized bed, and then enjoy what the Berkshires has to offer! 5 minute drive to Lakeview Orchards, 20-25 minutes from Lenox, Tanglewood, and Kripalu. 30 minutes to Mass MoCA and the peak of Mount Greylock (less to the start of the trails, if you want to hike it yourself!). 5 minute drive to Jiminy Peak, 45 to Berkshire East and Butternut ski resorts. 20 minutes to Notchview for cross country skiing.

This is a unique old house, and you will find nautical books and artifacts, as well as trinkets from around the world. Please note that there is no TV. The spiral staircase is one of my favorite features of the house, but it is narrow and steep, so please take care. If there will be more than two guests, and you require complete privacy from those staying on the couch downstairs, you might want to rethink, as the house is small and the bedroom upstairs is a loft. The bedroom upstairs has low ceilings - but with a comfy king sized bed, there's no need to stand up for too long, anyhow! In addition to the full bathroom downstairs, there is a half bath on the second floor, so one does not have to navigate the small staircase after bed time. The second bed, a pull out couch downstairs, is queen sized and very comfortable.

There is a narrow spiral staircase to the bedroom which has access to a toilet and sink. We didn't stay up there as the pitched roof is too close to the bed and it was cold. The bathroom has a nice washer/dryer however the baseboard heater doesn't provide enough heat so it felt frigid. There is spa tub suitable for soaking but if you less agile you may have trouble getting into the tub. The living room couch opens to a double bed with linens in the storage part of the couch. There was good heat on the first level and the hot water heats up quickly. The house is situated close to Target and the Regal Berkshire movie theatre. It is 15-20 minutes to area attractions such as Edith Wharton's house, Ventford Mansion, Norman Rockwell Museum and Clark Art Institute, etc. We would stay here again."

If you’ve driven by, you’ve wondered about the story of this beautiful stone building. Built in 1832 as a one-room schoolhouse – a function it served until 1950 -- this charming and historic building has been given new life as a guest house - since 1998.

PLEASE NOTE: It's an old building with an unusual layout, so please carefully read the description below.

Beautifully situated amidst horse farms on the scenic road to Mt Greylock. In the center of the Berkshires, 5 miles from Jiminy Peak ski area, 10 miles from South Williamstown, 15 miles from Tanglewood and Mass MoCA, and 20 miles from Jacob's Pillow. 5 miles to Pittsfield and the Berkshire Mall. Private garden. 5 acres of property in the back where horses graze, and alpacas, donkeys and other friendly animals next door.

Everything is provided: fully-furnished mostly with antiques. Bedspreads, linens, blankets, pillows, towels, iron and ironing board. SMALL KITCHEN with mini stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffeemaker with assortment of coffee, tea and hot chocolate, pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, etc. Broadband internet and TV with Netflix, Hulu and other streaming options included.

There are 2 floors. The first floor is the old classroom with old desks. There is also a trundle bed which can be used as 2 twins. The bathroom is on the first floor. The 2nd floor is like a studio apartment - with a queen bed and a twin bed and the small kitchen. PLEASE NOTE: There is one bathroom, on first floor.

Ideal for a romantic getaway or for a family of 4-5. A fee of $25/night applies for additional adults after the first two (limit of 4 adults total). No extra charge for children. Sweet, newly renovated cottage, in a blissfully tranquil setting on Lake Garfield in Monterey, MA. Secluded, private, yet close to amenities, the cottage sits on a secluded 9 acre wooded lot along with one other house. 100yd walk to the private dock (shared with the other house). Monterey is at a higher elevation in the Berkshires (above Great Barrington), so the air is cool and refreshing during most of the summer. The cottage has been completely renovated and is equipped with WiFi and air conditioning. New, open-plan kitchen has full range of appliances, including dishwasher. Full-size front loading washer and dryer. Living room contains a plush L-shaped sofa, flat-screen TV/DVD player with Direct TV package, wood burning stove, and lounge chairs. A 15 minute walk from the cottage is the village of Monterey, MA. Dotted with pre-colonial buildings, it is a hidden jewel in the Berkshires. Within walking distance there is an honesty farm stand where you can get the freshest veggies, as well as a farm that produces goat cheese from their own herd. Monterey is home to the historic Bidwell Museum. Monterey is a 20 minute drive from Great Barrington, where you can find a large variety of restaurants, grocery stores, theaters and shops. In addition, all the attractions of Great Barrington and the Berkshires are at your fingertips: Tanglewood, Kripalu Yoga Center, Norman Rockwell Museum, Hancock Shaker Museum, the Clark Museum, the WE DuBois Museum and the Naumkeag Museum.
Natural beauty abounds. The Appalachian Trail is nearby for hikers, and beautiful back-country roads are here for bikers. Your neighbors will include owls, eagles, herons, ducks, and possibly a curious baby bear (please don’t leave food outside!). A perfect, soothing get-away.

Land trust across the street from cottage. Outdoor smoking only. Culligan water sulfur filtration tank provides clean water with no smell to the entire house. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom can be challenging to for older people or people with physical limitations.

Berkshire Mountain Cottage is a warm and cozy hideaway located in the Berkshire hills. Its located between North Egremont and West Stockbridge, placing it within 15 minutes of Tanglewood and 5 minutes from Main Street in Great Barrington, by car, and close to many other Berkshire locales. The cottage is also very close to hiking and biking trails and numerous swimming areas on both lakes and rivers.

The cottage features (2) bedrooms, living room, kitchenette, screened in porch and (1) bathroom. The master bedroom contains a Queen sized bed and plenty of closet space. The second bedroom has a trundle bed with a riser and it sleeps (2). The building is semi attached to the main house. It has a separate entrance. And private outdoor area It is a roomy 800 sq ft, recently renovated, and beautifully decorated. You can easily prepare a great breakfast, lunch and even dinner (BBQ) or choose to sample one of the many restaurants in Great Barrington.

The cottage property contains grassy areas, flower gardens, forest, a stream, and a beaver pond which attracts exotic birds. There are tables and chairs set up outdoors for your enjoyment. We welcome well behaved dogs of all sizes.

We take special care of cleaning and sanitizing the cottage prior to your arrival.
All linen and towels are washed at a high temperature, and dried in high heat.

650-square foot charming cottage directly on 129-acre Center Pond in Becket, MA. One main bedroom upstairs with queen bed, very small loft area upstairs (for sleeping only - probably best for children) with 2 mattresses, small bedroom downstairs with single bed. Sleeps 3 in beds, plus the loft beds for kids and a loveseat-sized couch. Small kitchen with full oven, microwave, frig. No dishwasher. Small bathroom with shower. No washer/dryer. No cable TV, but large TV monitor and blue ray DVD player. High-speed internet. NOTE: the homeowner's association along the road has very strict quiet policy after 10 PM so this cottage WILL NOT be a good choice if abiding by this policy will be a problem.

OUTSIDE
Outside has spacious upper deck and lower deck, plus dock. Eating table and sitting area on upper deck, with comfortable seating on lower deck. Dive into water from dock into 6-foot depth. Clean, clear lake great for swimming. Cottage has 3 kayaks and one 2-person canoe. Great fishing . Motorboats permitted. However, very quiet, peaceful lake. Cottage is east facing. Warm, sunny breakfasts on the deck.

Becket is located in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts close to great hiking (including Appalachian Trail), antiquing , outlet shopping (Lee), theatre (Stockbridge, Pittsfield), dance (Jacobs Pillow), music (Tanglewood), museums (Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Clark Institute in Williamstown). Great biking on many of the rural roads in the area.

Comfortably appointed and super clean, the cottage features an enclosed porch, a large outdoor deck, a cozy living/dining/kitchen area, and a fenced-in backyard, making it ideal for dog owners. The deck has lounge chairs, a gas grill, a dining table with an umbrella, and a fire table. You are centrally located to great hiking, lakes, skiing, and charming towns. The lovely town beach on Lake Garfield is a 3-minute drive away. And folks tell us the bed has the most comfortable queen mattress! Across the road, there is, in fact, a beaver lodge! Three-night minimum for holiday weekends.
