We were only there for two nights, but two of us did not wash our because of this issue. It’s also hard to just be in that small tub as it’s very tight in terms of space. This was really the only reason why I gave it four stars instead of five stars because the rest of it was so great. But it’s really hard to go away and not be able to wash your hair. I think the bathtub and showerhead need to be replaced. In addition, the water that comes out of the faucet is very salty, but I guess it just has to do with the area of Guilford? Luckily there is a water cooler provided for drinking water so that is great. Rebecca was very communicative and kind. We also really enjoyed the pool outside. We would love to return, but we really hope that the bathtub and showerhead are replaced!"

Our charming 2 bedroom cottage with it's wrap around front porch has a warmth that is bright, comfortable and inviting. The wood and tile floors offer a clean and open feel. The bedrooms also with wood floors are bright and comfortable. One of the bedrooms has a window seat with views of the river, it is a great room to take in the natural light and read or just sit and relax.
The location is great and our home with it's charm and comfort is a must see.

It is one level living so great for kids or elderly. The sun porch offers spectacular views and has a seating area an eating area. Ceiling fans and sea breezes will keep you comfortable and we offer a window air conditioner for very hot days in summer and in winter enjoy baseboard heat and fireplace. Listen to the waves lapping against the rocks from the open windows!

Neighborhood: Mulberry Point Association is a quiet and charming, summer-loving, neighborhood with plenty of lovely walking areas, all with spectacular views. The small private sandy beach area has a floating swim dock and tide pools to explore. It is protected with rocky reefs so is ideal for small children. The Town Green is only 2 miles away.

Town: Less than two miles away is the historical town green surrounded by boutique shops, excellent restaurants, an Irish pub, toy shop, small grocery shop, ice cream and chocolate shop, craft and jewelry stores, hardware store, churches, town library, town hall, bookstore, post office, etc. Summer concerts on the green, craft fair, live theatre all add to the fun summer atmosphere. The Henry Whitfield State Museum is steps from the town green. Built in 1639, it is the oldest house in CT. Entrance to Westwoods hiking trails are about a mile from the cottage and offer the largest recreational area for hikers in Guilford with 39 miles of trails on 1200 acres. There are two scenic roads intersecting Guilford which are utilized by cyclists and road races in the summer. The towns of Madison, Branford and Stony Creek are destinations also, each offering a unique flavor of historical New England charm and all within 10 mins of the cottage.

Parking: The driveway is for Casa Grandy Cottage use only : ) It can fit 2 cars. Please do not park on Botsford Street, it makes it very hard for our neighbors to back out and we are trying to be great and respectful neighbors, thank you!!

Casa Grandy Cottage was totally remodeled in 2021/22 - new floors, new kitchen, new bath! This 2 bed (upstairs) / 1 bath (downstairs) home is situated on a little street in Milford, situated between the Wildermere Beach and Walnut Beach areas. In the beach blocks the houses are nestled closely together. Our inspiration for this Cottage comes from my Dad's love of travel to both Coastal New England and out West.

YALE GUESTS - We are only 10 miles from Yale! We have hosted professors, students, prospective students and parents who all want to be close to New Have but experience the quieter side of Milford.

This unit has a driveway that will fit 2 cars. There are sidewalks all around and the area is very walkable.

Other Things to Note:
Spring / Summer months - Our landscapers come by to weed every 2 weeks, usually on the weekends. They are only there about 15 minutes or so.

The perfect place for you to experience all the things New England has to offer. Relax along the sandy shores, take a swim or explore Long Island Sound in kayaks (2) or on bikes (2) which are provided. Excellent for walking, 2 miles of continuous sidewalks along the shore. Located on a quite inlet w/ sandy Bay beach, beautiful sun rises, all less than 500ft from the cottage as well as Yale Corinthian Yacht Club (Yale Sailing). Large open living space, great for family gatherings. Two excellent restaurants within walking distance. 45 minutes to Mohegan Sun Casino or 50 minutes to Foxwoods Casino. Many local breweries within town, 5.5 miles to YNHH & Yale University and approximately 15 miles to Quinnipiac University. So many things to do or just relax at home away from home!!

There are 2 bedroom and a loft. Open floor plan and covered porch. Beach chairs, umbrella and kayaks. Sleeps 4 to 6 (grown children would be appropriate for the loft space). Tweed Airport is just minutes away, take the train into Union station, New Haven less than 15 minutes away. We beleive dining outdoors is the porch but if you want to venture out there is an abundance of things to do and see on the CT Shoreline and great night life downtown New Haven.

The space
Ocean view from the balcony and living room with big windows. Launching point for all the attractions and Foliage observations. Many State Parks are less than 30 mins away.
The big windows and balcony let in plenty of ocean breeze and you feel like you don’t need AC here (but brand new units were installed). This house equipped with a king bed, a queen bed and an oversized sofa that sleeps two comfortably. New desk was added as well.

Small pet is allowed upon approval for a 1 time $100 pet fee and 200 deposit, which will be Refunded upon clearance by our housekeeper (only the deposit will be refunded, pls reach out first).

The entire house has been gutted.
Brand new kitchen with stainless steel appliance, build in microwave, decorative chimney. High ceiling in king bedroom, New hard wood floor, new bathrooms. New washer and dryer on the main level by the kitchen. Absolutely beautiful with unobstructed view of the Long Island Sound.

Walking distance to popular venues: Morris Beach (dog friendly and the only beach has lots of palm trees in the summer, in the Northeastern region), Anthony’s Sea View, Amarante's Sea Cliff, Fort Hale Park, Fishing Piers. Short drive to Yale and Lighthouse Point Park.

There is absolutely no airport noise, this small airport stops operating at 10pm.
However we do have some traffic noise with windows open, when cars driving by with higher speed.

Pls note that security cameras are installed at the front and back of the premise (outside of the cottage). Hardwired smoke and carbon dioxide detectors have been
installed throughout the house. All mattresses are protected by bedbug prevention covers.

We have the view of Morris Beach too, the public entrance is down the road. It takes 8 mins short walk. No parking permit needed if you like to drive there. Your own kayak can be used right at the Seawall right in front of our cottage, but boat and jet ski can be launched at the Light House Point Park with $30 fee, it comes with parking inside the park. Non fee parking is outside of park.

We go all the way to make our guests comfortable. We fully wash all linens and even “duvet covers”. We do more than hotel standard!!! All mattresses are protected by bedbug prevention covers.
Coffee machine, blender, cutting boards and tumbler will be rewashed in the dishwasher in between check out. Please use them at ease.

Please no outdoor shoes allowed beyond entrance area. Pls put them in the basket provided. Trust me that you will enjoy the space more knowing there is no germs/dirts brought from the road. Bring your house slippers for comfort.

We have high speed Wifi and supports working from home. Smart TV for your own streaming. We “do not” provide Cable TV but there are some basic channels avilable.

Note - there are personal belongings stored in closets in house (ie we live here and work hard to make it immaculate when we go away to rent it :). The wi-fi Internet access is fast and even reaches out to the gazebo to check your email. There is a hot tub on the back deck ready at the perfect temperature for an evening ahhhh. Relax and unwind.

There is a sofa and love seat with a smart tv in the living room along with a tall table and 2 chairs for dining. The kitchen sits next to the living room with a 1/2 bath attached (wait 'til you see the cutest little sink in there!).

From the kitchen you have a fenced in yard with a deck, dining furniture and a grill to enjoy!

If you need to do laundry, you can head on down to the immaculate basement and get all your clothes cleaned before you leave!

The big windows and balcony let in plenty of ocean breeze and you feel like you don’t need AC here (but brand new units were installed). This house is equipped with a king bed, a queen bed and an oversized sofa that sleeps two comfortably. New desk was added as well.

Walking distance to popular venues: Morris Beach (dog friendly and the only beach has lots of palm trees in the summer, in the Northeastern region), Anthony’s Ocean View (our Beach Access) Amarante's Sea Cliff, Fort Hale Park, Fishing Piers. Short drive to Yale and Lighthouse Point Park.

There is absolutely no airport noise, this small airport stops operating at 10pm.
However we do have some traffic noise with windows open, when cars driving by with higher speed.

Pls note that security cameras are installed at the front and back of the premise (only outside of the cottage). Hardwired smoke and carbon dioxide detectors are installed throughout the house. All mattresses are protected by bedbug prevention covers.

We have the view of Morris Beach too, the public entrance is down the road. It takes 8 mins short walk. No parking permit needed if you like to drive there. Your own kayak can be used right at the Seawall right in front of our cottage, but boat and jet ski can be launched at the Light House Point Park with $30 fee, it comes with parking inside the park. Non fee parking is outside of park.

We go all the way to make our guests comfortable. We fully wash all linens and even “duvet covers”. We do more than hotel standard!!! All mattresses are protected by bedbug prevention covers.
Coffee machine, blender, cutting boards and tumbler will be rewashed in the dishwasher in between check out. Please use them at ease.

Please no outdoor shoes allowed beyond entrance area. Pls put them in the basket provided. Trust me that you will enjoy the space more knowing there is no germs/dirts brought from the road. Bring your house slippers for comfort.

We have high speed Wifi and supports working from home. Smart TV for your own streaming. We “do not” provide Cable TV but there are some basic channels avilable.

Lovely, open and classic 1930s beach cottage is a magically light and quiet, special place to relax. The views onto to Long Island Sound are fantastic. Sand and surf are right out the front door!

The cottage is fitted out with comfortable vintage and minimalist furnishings and has wood floors throughout. The kitchen has top-of-the-line appliances including a Sub-Zero refrigerator, Gaggenau cooktop, Miele oven and dishwasher. The cottage has two bedrooms and a spacious living area comprised of an open kitchen and large dining and living room.

One bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the other bedroom has a full-size bed. An extra-long twin in a quiet corner of the living area is both a daybed and extra accommodation at night. The bathroom has a tiled stall shower, a claw-foot tub and limestone floors. A deck right outside the front door provides additional space to relax and enjoy the sun and beautiful views.

New A/C (mini-split units) are installed in the living room and each of the bedrooms. These also provide heat in the winter.

Walking and biking are favorite past times. Sailing, wind-surfing, golf, fishing, and bird watching are other popular activities. Seaside eateries Little Pub and Riley's are a short walk just down the way, for ice cream, huge hot pretzels and family meals.

Amenities include wireless internet, flat-screen television with streaming services in the living room, washer/dryer, dishwasher, A/C units.

But nothing beats the view and unique calm this place provides.

The cottage is located only minutes off of interstate I-95 and is quickly accessible from Stamford to New Haven. Local train service from Stratford and Bridgeport to New York, Stamford, and New Haven is easily accessible.
