The Setting:
Once part of the historic BX Ranch lands, the cottage sits on a private, one-acre property bordered by BX Creek and surrounded by towering trees. Guests enjoy access to a beautifully landscaped side yard—an ideal spot for morning coffee, evening wine, or just soaking up the serenity of the outdoors.

Getaway this summer to the URBAN COTTAGE! This is a quaint home located just a couple minutes from Okanagan Lake. Casually decorated for comfort and relaxation with nice linens. All you need to do is bring your personal belongings and groceries as the kitchen is well-stocked with small appliances and most items you will need. Oil and balsamic vinegar, spices and you’ll find some basic condiments in the fridge too. Enjoy the patio and large backyard for summer activities, and finish off the day by the fire-pit.

This single bedroom detached house is set right in front of the lake with a great view and easy access to the dock and shoreline. This is a great retreat for a couples getaway. There is a full bathroom with laundry and full kitchen with dishwasher. All you need is your clothes and some food and you can move in to a beautiful lakefront getaway for a quiet week of removal from the busy bustle of life. Have coffee on the dock after hiking or biking in the mountains behind the cottage right out the back door. We are 4 mins from the mountain bike trail head at Ellison Provincial Park. Go for a run on the quiet back road and get some hill training in or just a casual walk through the woods on the many trails in the area. There are also kayaks and paddle boards available for free if you would like to do water activities, or just bring your bathing suit for a soak in the beautiful clear water of Okanagan Lake.

There is a large deck for lounging in the sun, a covered eating area for any outdoor meals and a BBQ as well for those fresh lakeside meals you can't get anywhere else. There is also an indoor kitchen table if you prefer eating inside. There is a separate private parking area right next to the cottage for loading and unloading easily.

There is a large fire pit for lakeside fires with comfy adirondack chairs surrounding for a perfect ending to any lakeside day. Have a glass of wine or sherry fireside looking at the stars telling stories of the exciting day before retiring to a comfy warm king bed just steps away.

We are about 20 mins from downtown Vernon where you will find great downtown shops with lots of handmade art and Okanagan specific brands. There are many restaurants in town and lots of cafes with fresh cooking.

Silver Star Mountain Resort is 20 minutes from downtown Vernon and offers downhill mountain biking and hiking if you want to get up in the alpine. You can load your bike on the chairlift and bike down on any of the green, blue or black runs depending on your ability. You can rent bikes and e-bikes there if you don’t want to travel with them. The village has lots of nice mountain shops and restaurants as well as a spa.

There are many activities around the valley, you can rent a boat or jet skis, float the Enderby river on tubes, rent e-bikes and bike the rail trail along Kalamalka Lake to Oyama then bike up to wineries and breweries or do a driving tour. There is no shortage of things to do in the Okanagan Valley.

Check in is Saturdays any time after noon for this weekly rental. We promise you won't want to leave. Most of our customers come yearly and have been coming for many years.

The Loft is a 600 square foot studio on the second floor of a cottage from 1936, the original dwelling on an 8.5 acre property located 10 minutes outside of Vernon, BC. The Loft has a full bathroom, full kitchen, a living room area, a desk, and a bedroom nook with a queen sized bed. Guests have access to a firepit on the property and free parking. There is WiFi. Public walking trails start at the top of the property driveway. We are 20 minutes from Silver Star Mountain and 15 minutes from two lakes. There are multiple provincial parks within a short drive, as well as wineries and other tourist attractions.

We are in a rural setting yet only 5 minute drive to downtown. Surrounded by small acreages with interesting neighbors. Some have horses, sheep, lamas, donkey, and ostriches.

Come relax in this beautiful house with a cottage feel on 8 acres. Enjoy lake views from 2 sundecks and private hot tub, walk/snowshoe in a private forest, or cozy evenings inside with blankets and books in the livingroom. Kids have their own entertainment upstairs; Netflix, Wii, and foosball table. This entire house can accommodate up to 6 people with a master bedroom on the main and large open second floor. Enjoy all the recreation, 5 min to SilverStar Road, 10 min to town, in a rural area.

The space
Our place is a piece of paradise that includes a master bedroom with a queen bed and a large walk-in closet on the main floor. Outside of the master is an office space with a desk in case you need to get that little bit of work done. There is high-speed fibre optic internet that will handle any zoom meeting or streaming needs. Still on the first floor is a fully outfitted kitchen with a dishwasher, pass through to the living room, and next to the dining room. There is a large foyer with lots of room for your ski boots and a large closet to store your gear. Off the main floor is a huge sundeck looking out to the lake with its own private hot tub. It’s ideal for enjoying while you sip your coffee on summer mornings or take in the spectacular sunsets over the mountains anytime. The laundry is on the first floor as well. Upstairs includes a tv and games area with a hide-a-bed and two comfy twin beds at the other end. There is a separate sundeck with a propane fire pit to enjoy the evenings as well.

Every season is spectacular here! We have the best location, being private while still being close to all the amenities. Silver Star Resort, with excellent downhill skiing, Canada's largest daily groomed X-country trail network, Tubetown tube park, and biking is just 25 minutes and two stop signs away. Sovereign Lake Nordic is 20 minutes for XC skiing, snowshoeing or even snowmobiles. Swan Lake boat launch is 10 minutes down the mountain for fishing or a quick paddle. Families, take quick trip to the waterslides 5 minutes away. Those last-minute groceries are 7 minutes, and on the way home from your adventures at the end of the day. We’re 15 minutes to Downtown Vernon with a wide variety of local shops and restaurants, and close to beautiful Kalamalka Lake and the Rail Trail, and Okanagan Lake just over the hill. Don’t miss out on all of our local cideries, wineries, farmers markets and locally grown food options. Vernon really has it all!

In winter we do get a lot of snow! Our place looks like a winter wonderland December to March! It’s a paved road and driveway that are plowed, however, winter conditions change rapidly. I recommend carrying chains just in case the plows are late one day.

Feel welcome to use the entire space around the guesthouse, yard and forest. The hot tub is just outside the front door inset into the deck.

There are some trails and views on the acreage, feel free to walk them. The parking is in a T shape. You have the left arm and I have the right. There is room for 2 cars or bring your boat!

We also have a very friendly, giant puppy. He will likely come and say hi at some point. He shouldn't jump up on people as the rule for him is paws on the ground. If he's a bother let me know and I'll try to keep him close.
