- "Just got back from an overnight stay at the cottage. Beautiful area, surroundings among nature. The cottage was warm and comfy, and clean. We had a balcony to ourselves and ample space for the 2 of us. However, when it came to dinner time, the restaurant on site was CLOSED. We looked up numerous "nearby" places but none would deliver due to the resort either being too far away or closed for christmas holiday.NO FOOD DELIVERY available to this resort! We called reception who was very nice and gave us the gate number to allow any deliveries in however it was fruitless as nothing was available nearby. We also had an issue with the AC but the receptionist was very helpful and came immediately to help us out. Hubby and I ending up eating from the breakfast basket for dinner. This basket was provided to us at check in (around 3pm the day before). This could be due to the christmas holiday but make sure to see if the on site restaurant is available before you go or you will lack any dining experiences from being at this resort. I wish i had packed food from home or gotten it otw to the resort to store in the fridge. Overall a well recommended place & a would stay again!"

California Dreamin', our HOME, is a contemporary 3 bed/3 bath lodge-like house able to easily accommodate a maximum of 8 guests. Guests have EXCLUSIVE access to the entire resort property - 2,500 sq.ft. house, 3/4 acre garden and grounds, salt water pool, spa, firepit, yard and bowls court. It's ALL yours!

The house is spacious yet comfortable, with plenty of natural light. It is tastefully furnished, boasts a large gourmet kitchen, Smart TVs and a natural gas fireplace in the living room. We have beautiful mountain and sunset views, and are in a prime space for stargazing as the neighborhood is very void of light pollution. The home is just blocks from Lake Hodges, where you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, fishing, bird watching, and picnicking.

All bedrooms have their own bathrooms. We provide luxurious bamboo bedding for a refreshing night of sleep. The master suite is extremely spacious with vaulted ceilings, a chaise lounge, a large walk-in closet, an ensuite bathroom with an over-sized soaking tub, and an additional, separated side office room. It also has its own door to the outdoors.

There is on-site parking for at least 6 cars.

This home is our labor of love and 28 years in the making. Sue & I raised our two daughters here and in 2015 finally finished the renovations. We transformed it into the contemporary home we envisioned when we bought the property in 1993, yet it maintains the charm of a home well lived in and loved! Taylor is our California Dreamin' property manager and she lives in the front Guest House. She will welcome you to the property and show you the in's and out's when you arrive. Taylor is a very quiet professional and aside from checking you in and out, has minimal contact with guests.. She has her own parking space, separate access to the Guest House and her own private outdoor area. She does not have any access to the pool, spa, firepit, bbq, lawn bowls, etc. while you’re at the property.

This beautiful Casita is half way between Disney land and San Diego. It's located near several amenities including areas like: Lego land, Seaport Village, Balboa Park , San Diego Zoo, and the Wild Animal Park. It's also approximately 45 miles from the Mexican border.

The kitchen provides dishware as well as newer appliances including a wine fridge, dishwaher, microwave, refrigerator, and stove. The living room has a large couch, dining room table with four chairs, and a 45" smart TV.

A pop up bed (for the kids) can also be provided on request.

This 2 bedroom apartment has two queen beds, a full kitchen and laundry. With mbeautiful views all around, it is very close to the San Diego Safari Park, wine tasting (walking distance to 4 wineries) and several wedding venues. You’ll love the privacy and spaciousness, the fresh fruit and farm animals, and the tranquility of the place, while being only 4.5 miles off the freeway. This space is excellent for couples, business travelers, small groups, solo adventurers, and families.

The space:
The apartment is on the other side of the garages as the main house so you have plenty of privacy. There are two separate bedrooms, each with a very comfortable queen bed. A full-size bathroom is not attached to either bedroom so is easily accessed by both bedrooms without inconveniencing anyone. You have a full kitchen with a sit up bar as well as a separate dining area. The living area has two sofas, one of which pulls out into a double bed. The washer/dryer allow longer-term guests to do their laundry. Also, there is a very spacious outdoor patio for relaxing in the sunshine or star-gazing and enjoying the serenity at night. The high-end craftsmanship is noticeable and the house is newly built.

Guest access:
You have the entire apartment to yourself. We live in the main house full-time so we are on hand for anything you might need during your stay but stay out of your way if that is your preference.

Other things to note:
There is also a new and adorable tiny house on the property listed separately on VRBO. If you have a larger group, or family/friends who would like to stay nearby (about 100 steps away), this is a great option to expand your group size but still have your privacy and separate space!

- "All amenities listed except the hottub. Comfortabe couch and full kitchen. Enjoyed feeding the goats and picking fresh citrus right off the trees." - "We were in town for a wedding. Following the instructions, we had no issues finding the rental. It was quiet and comfortable. We had a small issue with the WiFi but after checking the in-house manual the correct password was inside. Two small things that would have made it better. 1. Powdered coffee creamer. Sugar and sugar alternatives were provided but no creamer. 2. There were no hooks on the back of any of the doors or on the walls in the bathroom to hang towels to dry. Both items were minor and did not impact our stay dramatically. We would book again if we needed to be in the area for anything. Take note that there is nothing really located in close proximity to the rental. Make sure you hit up a grocery store or anything else before you get there. If you don't you will have about a 15-minute drive to get to a grocery store"

The casita has one bedroom, with a Cal King bed. En-suite bathroom, with a large shower, and walk-in closet. There is a half bathroom in the hallway near the main entrance. In the common room, there is a galley kitchen with a dining table and a leather sleeper-sofa that folds into a queen size bed. Extra bedding is provided. The patio table outside the back door is a great place to have dinner and enjoy the beautiful Escondido weather.

Guests will have a dedicated entrance to the casita. Additionally, guests have a private patio in the back of the casita. For the areas in the front of home, there is a pool/hot tub in a shared yard space, though it will be available for private use during your stay. Host lives on site and will be on the property, but not in your living area. You may see us outside as the driveway and front yard are common areas. Host will minimize disruptions to shared areas during your stay.

This rental might not be suitable for small children, as the pool is not gated from the living areas. If you have any questions regarding the pool usage, please contact host.

This home is one of a kind! The home has a resort-style layout. For the areas in the front of home, there is a pool/hot tub in the shared yard space, available for guest use during your stay. Host will minimize disruption to you and your guests in the shared areas.

You'll love the privacy and security, as home is fully fenced, with a gate to access the living and yard areas.

Great home for outdoor living, with two patios; one in front of casita (shared yard space), and the other is private, just for you, in the back of the casita. A gas BBQ is available for your grilling needs. Lots of trees and great views of the coastal mountains.

Close to Kit Carson park, which is a great place to walk your dogs, let the kids play, or play disc golf. North County Mall is 1.5 miles away as well, with access to great shops and many dining options. Great location!

Pool uses solar heat, and cannot be heated manually. However, on a typical sunny day, pool will heat up by 6-8 degrees. Typical pool temperatures are 75-79 F in the spring/ fall, and 80-88F in the summer.

You will get one free hour of hot tub use during your stay. Should you choose to use it longer, there is a $10 fee per hour of usage (the fee is to help cover the cost of propane for heater).

Parking: There is dedicated parking available for you during your stay. We can accommodate up to 2 vehicles.

They are doing an extensive addition to the home that was in the back yard, so we were a little cautious when the children were outside playing so that they wouldn't get hurt. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook, including a Keurig K-Supreme Plus coffee maker, Instant Pot, juicer, waffle maker, and a full-size fridge with filtered water and an ice maker. We provide a selection of coffee and tea, as well as creamer, sugar, basic seasonings, and cooking essentials.

The bedroom features a comfortable California king bed with quality bedding, a blackout shade, and a small walk-in closet. You’ll find a variety of pillows and blankets in different firmness levels, and touch nightlights with USB ports by the bed.

There’s a designated workspace in the living room with a comfortable office chair, a small Bluetooth Bose speaker, and a selection of books. A smart TV is available for streaming (please log in to your own accounts).

The bathroom includes luxury shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a hair dryer, curling iron, and plenty of towels.

A washer and dryer are also available for guest use in the garage, along with laundry detergent, drying racks, and hangers.
