Within 1 block, you will find the dive boats departing for Molokini, as well as some of Kihei`s best restaurants. As an added amenity, the Condo features reserved/covered parking - something lacking at most accommodations in Kihei. After a day at the beach, enjoy the beautiful swimming pool, cook out at the pool-side BBQ area, or try a game of shuffleboard.

When you check into Haleakala Shores front office you will receive a parking pass for your car. If you didn`t rent a car, Maui offers cheap public transportation with the Maui Bus. It is only $1 for each area you want to travel to and there are many convenient stops around the island and close to Haleakala Shores.
GUEST RENTAL AGREEMENT –

1. CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT - Check-in time is 4 p.m. Hawaii time & Check-out time is 11 a.m. Hawaii time. Late check-out will result in an additional charge unless arrangements are made IN WRITING.

2. NO SMOKING - This is a NON-SMOKING unit.

3. NO PETS - Pets are not permitted

4. Hawaii State Taxes: the tax rate is always subject to change, by the State of Hawaii. We are mandated to collect these taxes and pay them. Therefore, if the tax rate changes prior to your dates of stay, we will need to collect any additional taxes due prior to your arrival.

5. CANCELLATIONS - A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation of a reservation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations made within sixty (60) days of the arrival date may forfeit the full advance payment. Refund eligibility and processing times may vary depending on the platform through which your reservation was made (e.g Airbnb, Vrbo, or direct booking). that result in shortened stay or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent. We recommend trip insurance to protect against unforeseen cancellations or changes. If you are due a refund, a 9% fee will be charged due to credit card charges. A refund will be issued within 72 days (M-F). We have no control over the amount of time the credit card takes to issue the check.

6. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY - The maximum number of guests for the agreed upon rate in this unit is six (6).

7. INCLUSIVE FEES - Rates include a one-time clean linen/towel setup. Maid service is available at an additional cost. If you are interested, please let us know in advance. However, laundry/dish soap and enough paper products to last a few days are provided. Guests must purchase additional paper products as needed but need not re-stock at check-out.

8. RATE CHANGES - Rates are subject to change without notice but will not be changed on any reservation already confirmed.

9. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS - Any reservation obtained under false pretenses of any kind will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check-in. If discovery of false pretenses are discovered after check-in, party will be evicted without a refund of any monies.

10. PARKING – Assigned parking stall number is 329, but please go to the front desk to get your parking pass to place in your car. If you arrive after the office is closed, no worries, just come back the next morning. If it’s a weekend, and the office is closed, no worries, just go in Monday morning.

11. RULES - In addition to the conditions of this Rental Agreement, guests are required to obey any rules put forth by the resort. Pay particular attention to the rules posted in the Pool area regarding food and glass.

12. PERSONAL BELONGINGS - Tenants shall be responsible for their personal belongings and agree to hold the Owners harmless for any loss due to theft, or damages to or by them while occupying the unit.

13. INSECT CLAUSE: Hawaii has one of the most enjoyable ecosystems on earth, and insects are a part of that system. We try to control this natural occurrence by regularly spraying for insects. The most common pests that may find their way into the property include ants, small beetles, gnats, mosquitos, geckos, and even cockroaches. Naturally, it is a good idea to keep the doors closed while enjoying our island, but that will not necessarily eliminate all occurrences of insects. We do not offer refunds or adjustments for pest control issues. If you notice a problem, please call Holly so we can handle it.

By booking with us, each adult guest acknowledges that they have read, understand, and will abide by the terms and conditions of this Rental Agreement.

Update on the Lahaina fire:
I am sure you are aware of Lahaina and the tragic event of the fire. Lahaina is slowly starting to rebuild but it will take many years. The rest of the west side of the island where Lahaina is located is fully functioning and open for business.
The Governor and Maui Mayor have emphasized that the rest of the island is still open for tourists to come and enjoy. Kihei has been unaffected. Vacationers are welcome to come and enjoy the South/Central and East part of the island that still has many spectacular places and fun things Maui has to offer. Governor Green has been on national TV recently advising that the best thing interested people can do to help the island recover is to come and vacation here and support our local businesses.

Now after a year since the tragic fire, Lahaina has been cleared of the fire debris and the first homes are being rebuilt. New housing projects are underway and the fire victims are beginning to move in.

The studio is located in The Island Surf Condominium and is zoned as Condo/Hotel and as such is NOT subject to any of the efforts to convert short term vacation rentals to long term rentals. You do not have to be concerned at all in making a vacation reservation at this property. Please note that The Island Surf is a NO SMOKING building. There is a designated smoking area in the parking lot.

- "Nice stay, enjoyable vacation." - "My husband and I chose this studio for the smaller size (it was all we needed) and the location! We were there on a family trip with my son's family and in-laws. We just needed a small place since we decided we would congregate at my son's unit. We were just steps away from the pool and beach, which is where the family was the majority of the time. Every morning we had coffee on the lenai and listened to the birds and ocean waves (we could see the ocean from our second story location). It was so peaceful and quiet even though the main walkway was right outside our unit. Joan was very responsive to our questions and the Studio itself was clean and well appointed. We would not hesitate to stay in this unit again and as for Wailea Ekahi Village ~ it exceeded all expectations! Wonderful snorkeling right off of the beach (we swam with turtles every day!), close proximity to shopping, groceries and easy access to the walking path along the coast that takes you past all of the larger resorts. Property was beautifully maintained, lush tropical plants and flowers everywhere!! Wonderful value for the location and we met several travelers who were repeat visitors stating it was the best place they had ever stayed on the island. Perfect for families and multi-generations! Wonderful pool and Pavillion with comfortable dining and seating areas, full kitchen and grills for pool and beachside meals. (plus very nice showers & bathrooms). We all loved it here."

Maalaea Harbor and Kihei Boat Ramp are a short drive, if you want to go on boat excursion for snorkeling, diving, sportfishing, whale watching tours from December to April, and sunset or dinner cruises. From North Kihei, you have many great options to drive to South Maui to enjoy golf, shops, restaurants, beaches in Kihei, Wailea and Makena, or drive out to the West side and enjoy art galleries, restaurants, and shopping.

The space
Tropical beach retreat (500 sq ft) located across the road from the ocean by the Humpback whale sanctuary located in North Kihei accessible to town and centrally located to everywhere on island. Bus service stops close by our building.

Tropical decor with warm wood floors and granite kitchen, this cozy studio is centrally located to get to everything on Maui. The canoe club is right up the road and a farm market too. Inside the unit is a comfortable queen bed and a comfortable sleeper sofa.

The studio is large, almost 500 square feet and has all dishes, blenders, coffee makers etc. and don't forget the wine glasses!!

WE have beach chairs, cooler, beach towels. Your all set.

Honestly, this is a large studio but if you have a toddler and want a long stay, this may not be the place for you.

Any stays longer than 7 days will have a second cleaning at $100. The cleaning does not include laundry. It will be requested a few days before the stay begins.

Other things to note
Many great restaurants everywhere. Some can be very pricey so if you're budget minded do those for lunch!!

But the FOOD TRUCKS!! Many wonderful options from Hawaiian food, Vegan, Thai food , burgers , Mexican and even Sushi!! There must be at least ten or more. And then there is a long garden area that has Buddhas and fountains and a large space for Hula shows. It’s so cool. You can do lunch or dinner. You can eat there as it’s very inviting or it just pack it up to go and take it to your favorite beach park. You’re gonna love it.!
Also great healthy options at Hawaiian Moons in town. For vegans in Kahului, my favorite is Down to Earth and there is a Whole Foods there too. Walmart and Costco are close to the airport and great options to load up for water and things that you might need including that chicken from Costco.!

Maui has zillions of things to do... from zip line to snorkel-whale-turtle watching, Iao valley strolls, hiking Haleakala, biking down from the crater, horseback riding, windsurfing, kite-surfing, surfing... and exploring cool little boutique towns for shopping....Even ABC store has great souvenirs!! and of course going to Hana!!!!!!

THERE ARE LOTS OF TOURS BUT YOU DONT HAVE TO DO MANY BECAUSE THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO ON YOUR OWN. MAYBE PICK A FEW THINGS $$ (ie luau, snokel trips, scuba, helicopter zipline etc) AND THEN YOU CAN EXPLORE MAUI ON YOUR OWN JUST DRIVING AROUND CREATING GREAT MEMORIES..
