Sometimes our Jack Russell dog ( Marley) is resident on the property. He is always happy to have company and pats but it is up to you whether you interact with him or not.

You have your own room, bathroom and verandah however the pool area is a shared space. The 2 bedroom house located close by may sometimes be occupied. This home is also available on Air BnB if you need extra space. Another building on the block is occupied by a gentleman who may look after the pool and do some gardening, he will be available if you need anything or have any questions.

Built in 2017 this self contained unit, with 2 air conditioners, ceiling fans, and access to swimming pool, is located 5 minutes drive to the best beaches in Broome. It is located in a quiet street with bush views. The apartment is separate to our main home with private driveway and secure gates to the property.
Apartment comprises of a fully equipped kitchen, lounge with 55" TV, king size bed, rain shower ensuite and separate toilet.

The space
You will be staying in a modern self contained unit, with your own secure access. The kitchen contains a full sized fridge, oven, cooktop, microwave and we supply cooking utensils for your use. A queen sized sofa bed is available for guests and a King sized bed in your bedroom. A laundry is conveniently located/hidden in the hallway cupboard. The toilet is separate from the bathroom, which is off the bedroom. You will have space to park your vehicle behind a secure remote controlled gate. There is a lovely bush outlook from the front patio where you can enjoy a drink whilst watching the sunset.
We are lucky to have bush reserve over the road from the property which gives a sense of semi rural lifestyle.

We provide secure parking for one vehicle behind a remote controlled gate. Your own vehicle is recommended for travelling around Broome.

6.5 km from the City or 15-20 mins by train. A 5 min walk to Fairfield train station, on the same line as the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground, & Tennis Centre, 10-15 minutes away, or Marvel Stadium 25 mins. Sports & Concerts. Entry via the laneway provides privacy, while on street parking is not time restricted. A 5 minute drive to the Eastern Freeway also opens up day or onward trips from Melbourne. Pool, outdoor patio and washing machine available, but shared with us & our friendly dogs.

The space
The Bungalow is 2 storey, with a spiral staircase leading to the "mezzanine" bedroom upstairs. Here you will find a Queen Size Bed, Wardrobe, Drawers and a work desk. There is an open void of just over 1 metre, protected by a wall to give upstairs a "loft" feel.

Downstairs is open plan, with a living room and Kitchen, with a Double Sofa bed for 2 extra guests.

Here you will also find the TV (Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney), as well as Bluetooth connectivity to a speaker from your Smart device for music or Podcasts.

There is reverse cycle Air Conditioning/Heating, both upstairs and Downstairs, independent of each other, with an additional Ceiling Fan upstairs.

The Bathroom/Toilet is located off the kitchen/living room area downstairs.

Private Access is via the rear laneway at the back of our street, parking is on the street, not in the laneway.

For your stay we will block access to the patio area outside the bungalow from our dogs, however, at your leisure, you are welcome to come up, as access to our pool is via our decking by the main house.

We also have a home EV charge available, but please note access is for smaller vehicles only. We have a Cupra Born and we have been able to charge a guest's Hyundai Kona. Vehicle dimensions need to be NO larger than 4350mm (long) x 1820mm (wide).

The EV charges on 3 Phase, with varied charge rates (vehicle manufacturer restriction, not the charge). The Cupra Born can charge at (up to) 12 kWH, the Hyundai by comparison 7 kWH. Charge times are restricted based on our home electricity plan, but please talk to me about this if you have an EV and would like to charge (at no cost).

Please note that the pool heating is most effective from November through to the end of March (26-28 celsius). Swimming from April through October is at guest's discretion.

There is also an outdoor setting for meals outside the bungalow and you have access to our (shared) Weber BBQ.

While there is no Washing Machine in the Bungalow, if guests need washing, you are welcome to use ours at no charge.

Please NO Smoking in the Bungalow, or on our property. Smokers please go into entry laneway and close front door.

Per the property description, you have complete independence from us, including full use of the Patio area outside the Bungalow.
Our surrounding garden is only 18 months old, but our trees are providing improved privacy.
The large trees are deciduous, so shed leaves ahead of winter.
You will have an outdoor furniture setting outside the Bungalow, we also provide use of our Weber BBQ.
If the weather is hot, you are welcome to use our pool (4 x 8 metres), but please note children MUST be supervised and cannot access the pool area without at least one parent in the pool area at ALL times. Flotation devices are provided. Pool depth is about 4ft (120cm) at the entry steps and 6ft (183cm) at the deep end.
Per our photo's we have 2 friendly dogs, but we block their access to the Bungalow area. You are welcome to interact with them if you would like to.
We can also secure the dogs if you are using the pool or if you or your traveling companions have any apprehensions around dogs.

There is a walk of approx 50 metres, past a driveway for a block of flats at the end of the street to the rear laneway for access to the Bungalow.

It is a 5 minute walk to Fairfield train station (on the Hurstbridge line), it is a 10-15 train ride to Jolimont station (for the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and Tennis Centre (Rod Laver & John Cain Arena’s). 15-20 mins to Flinders St Station (Melbourne CBD) and 20-25 mins to Southern Cross Station (regional and Interstate train starting point) which is also where Marvel Stadium is located.

Parking is on our beautiful tree lined street.

The Eastern Freeway/Eastlink is a 5 minute drive, providing easy access to the Freeway for Phillip Island, the Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland.

There are major links being made for better access to the Great Ocean Road and Hume Hwy, but currently you need to navigate through traffic for 20-30 minutes (depending on time of day) to get to the Freeway (Motorway) access.

The space
This is a recently renovated private cottage with your own bathroom and kitchenette. A microwave, fridge with Tea and Coffee facilities for when you arrive or before you head off. Comfy Queen size bed with hotel linen to provide a unique country experience. We have a cedar hot tub with spectacular sun set views. Please let us know in advance if you would like us to turn the heating on as it takes a while to warm up.

The cottage no longer accepts pets. We now offer Pet friendly accommodation in our Flower Shed. Please see the Collector Flower Shed listing to have your pets stay.

Guest access
The Cottage is located at the back of the main house.

Plenty of off street parking is available out the front.

Access is via a lock box if no one is home.

Drive BETWEEN the Cafe and the ANZAC Memorial to find us.

Let us know what time you will arrive and we can arrange to have heating and lights on for after dark arrivals.

Other things to note
Please note the Cottage is not the main house. The cottage cannot be seen from the driveway, it is located behind the large garage.

Walk between the house and the garage (follow the fairy lights in the evening) to the cottage at the back.

The lockbox is located at the Cottage, not the main house. The Cottage will already be open for your arrival.

There is a path with lighting to the Cottage. There is small rise and 3 stairs to get to the cottage.

We have free range chickens on site.

Wifi is available onsite, however, we recommend using your own phone for internet. The town only has local 4G satellite services only, there is no fixed internet infrastructure in town.
