You have the whole pool house to yourself . Pool and hot tub are shared spaces ( don’t worry,we would never get in the hot tub with you) but may get in when it is not in use from guests.

Lyles Bayless Sr who purchased the property from the Jefferson heirs in 1917. This cottage was to serve as a home for the cook who prepared meals for employees of the Jefferson Island Salt mine, which was 1300 feet below Jefferson Island.

One bed is in the loft, accessible by ladder only. The other bed is in the studio space below. Bathroom features vintage claw foot tub with overhead rain shower, river stone flooring, blue-green art glass window panes in an old cypress door, and bicycle handlebars and brake levers for towel bars and hooks. Kitchen features 1930s cast iron porcelain sink set in stainless counter atop vintage pine shelves. Cast iron table and bentwood chair set, together with fridge, freestanding stove, dishes and cookware allow for dining in. Living room and kitchen windows feature stained glass artwork. Loft space railing fashioned from pre-World War II bicycle frames adds interest. No TV or radio, just glorious escape.

The balcony over-looks a lit courtyard, with a fountain and additional outdoor seating. To your right is the fish-stocked pond, surrounded by cypress trees, with its solar lit peer. Downstairs is the living, kitchen, and dining areas with another coffee bar, mini fridge and island where the welcome refreshments and breakfast/brunch is served daily. A half bath and laundry room is available for your use. To the back of the house, there is a covered, lit patio which is furnished with an outdoor dining set and living room set. Feel free to pop popcorn, tell ghost stories and/or make s’mores at the fire-pit area. Checkin time is 3:00pm and checkout is 10:00 am. We do allow lenient times upon request.

The space
Nestled around 10 minutes from Lafayette, this pool house has all you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Upstairs bed is a queen with memory foam mattress with memory foam mattress pad. Downstairs has a queen sleeper sofa with memory foam mattress pad.

Guest access
Guests will have full access to the first and second floors of the pool house, as well as the pool. A full kitchen and washer/dryer is also at your fingertips.
