The cottage is located on the banks of the IJ, with a view of the water and the city. The house is at cycling distance of both Waterland and the center of Amsterdam within the Ring. Tram 26 is a 10-minute walk away. A tram leaves every 5 minutes. The travel time to Central Station is 10 minutes.
The house is in a somewhat isolated area which is being developed into a busy housing area in the coming decade. So unfortunately there may temporarily be some noise between 7am and 4pm due the building activities ( not in the weekends).
The cottage has an open kitchen with good facilities. A large bedroom with two single beds (both separately and together). In addition, a small bedroom with bunk beds. The cottage is suitable for two adults and two children. High chair and baby bed available. Separate bathroom with shower and toilet. Washing machine available.
The cottage has WIFI, radio and TV.
Outside you have a picnic table.
There is parking on site.

- "Though getting there requires a short train ride from the station, it runs frequently and is a straight shot to the destination. There’s also a 10 minute walk, but there were blackberries growing along the way for sustenance. The property was sweet with a beautiful view of the harbour which was just feet from the back door. It was green and restful and quiet. Our hosts were generous and gracious with their time, and there was everything and more that we needed in the home to make our stay comfortable. After a busy day in the city, it was so nice to return to some quiet in the evening. We would definitely recommend this property."

The house is a former stable. It is a jewel that is hidden behind the farm. Outside you will see a classic Zaans-West Frisian house with a nice terrace and a garden. Inside is making adjustments of the space. The living room is very spacious and cozy with a cozy seating area and a large dining table. The living room adjoins the box bed for two people. The bedstead is a lovely love nest that is adapted to the people of today: you can easily lying sprawled in sleep! The cuisine is a mix of modern and classic. A beautiful sight and equipped with refrigerator, microwave oven and dishwasher. Downstairs you will find the bathroom. This is very tastefully decorated and has a shower, toilet and washing machine. There is underfloor heating in the bathroom.
Next to the house is a barn where are sometimes cows or calves and in the spring the sheep get their lambs there. You can see them through a window. Upstairs is a spacious bedroom for 3 people with beautiful views.

Our guest house has a double bed downstairs and with a dock on the mezzanine where limited headroom is two more beds. The small kitchen in the guest room is separated from the bathroom by means of swing doors behind which are a spacious rain shower, toilet and sink.
There is a private terrace and trampolines in the garden.
On the dike there is free parking. A good supermarket with restaurant is 100 meters away. The guesthouse is located nationwide but with bus, tram or metro you are within 15 minutes in the center of the canals belt of Amsterdam. From our location it is also nice to cycle to the old villages such as Ransdorp, Durgerdam and Holysloot. There are 4 bicycles available. Day trips to Marken, Volendam, Zaanse schans and Keukenhof are also easily accessible.
That is why we call this place the best of both worlds.

- "Beautiful place!" - "Mariette was a fantastic host and her place is the perfect middle ground between a busy city and a relaxing countryside. It took five minutes to walk to the 37 bus line, which can get you to just about any connecting trend line and to whatever neighborhood you want to go to. It takes less than 30 min to get to Centraal Station if all transit lines up right. There are bikes and everything you need to cook if you want. It really was the perfect day, small caveat being four stars to cleanliness because of the amount of spiderwebs in there for spiders. I think Netherlands may be different than in the states where we try to keep spiders out of the home, but there are a considerable number so beware if you’re afraid of them!"

A lovely, modern guesthouse in a recently renovated summerhouse on farmhouse Welgelegen. The lodge has a private entrance and private terras with an amazing look out. It has it's own kitchen with fridge, dishwasher and oven/microwave. The stairs bring you to the upper floor where you find a kingsize double bed and a walk in shower. The sofa in the living room is suitable for 2 persons. The lodge is situated next to a beautiful river and within a 15 minute walk you can catch a train to Amsterdam.

The guesthouse has a kingsize double bed upstairs and a sofabed downstairs. The sofabed has bedding and is suitable for two persons. The toilet is downstairs.

The farm lodge is situated on a farm build around 1850 surrounded by a beautiful and typical Dutch rural and quiet landscape. It's a perfect place to find rest en inspiration. This accommodation is not a place to party. We have quiet hours between 22:00 and 08:00. Groups of friends are welcome if they are willing to pay a security deposit and respect our house rules.

Ilpendam is a picturesque village 10 minutes' drive from Amsterdam. In the morning, you see the sun rise on the horizon, in the evening you dine on the jetty by the water while grebes and coots swim by.

From this oasis of calm, you can explore the beautiful Waterland region or visit the bustling city. Every 5 minutes a bus goes to Amsterdam and within 15 minutes you are in the city centre.

The space
The holiday home was originally an empty barn. In 2017 it was converted into a holiday home.
When you enter the house you immediately look out over the water and the meadows. Through the glass sliding doors you step on the landing stage and you can swim in the Ringvaart.

Downstairs is the living room, a spacious luxury kitchen and bathroom with shower, toilet and washing machine. A staircase leads you to the two bedrooms (so there are no doors). One bedroom has a double bed, the other two single beds.

Guests of our holiday home have their own part of the landing stage on the water and part of the owner's garden where you can make use of a lounge set.

Other things to note
We like to share the place with like-minded people who, like us, enjoy the peace and nature and at the same time enjoy visiting Amsterdam.
