The space

In the early 1900's trains brought summer stayers here from their larger homes in the city.

Within our quiet neighborhood, this mature treed property has grapevine arbor on southern exposure deck where cardinals, multiple bird varieties visit and nest. Small woodland creatures meander through the property.

Bedrooms have century-old spool beds, high thread count linens, soft wood floors and stained glass windows. Extra blankets and pillows plus bathroom linens provided .

You can experience a 1915 summer life in a cottage home property reminiscent of that time.

Softwood plank floors creaking, rain on a tin roof & smell of morning air after, birds, wind chimes , rustling poplar leaves and grapevines overhead, bacon crackling in cast iron, coffee perking, are all daily comforts here... listen to record player with many LP's, or watch old movies provided.

Full kitchen stocked with cooking implements of years ago as well as current expected basics. Grocery and liquor store 7km away.

1915 original style 3 sided outdoor veranda gives you a view of Kennebecasis River, with furnishings that strive toward 1910-50 with the feel of a summer place then.

You can run to the river to swim (6 minutes if you are slowly swaggering), pitch a tent in the yard, take a long walk on one of the many walking trails nearby, or sink into a lawn chair on the veranda and relax.

Outdoor dining table under veranda roof is 24 hours a day, rain or shine. Big selection of cast iron skillets to use.
Extra lawn chairs and lawn games are stored in wood shed.

15 minute drive to ferry that goes to Digby, Nova Scotia where you could do a day trip as a foot passenger and return to this shangrila that night.
Car and passenger Ferry is free to Saturday farmer's market on Kingston Peninsula, and is about 15 minute drive from cottage to ferry, with a lovely little float over for 7 minutes. Local farmers will amaze you with their produce and wares. Terrific place for a down-east breakfast in their long-tabled cummunal seating set up.
You will leave with a full belly and a heart warming smile on your face.
Bring your own tote bags to take you gems home in.

Fly into Saint John airport with a 12 minute drive to the cottage. This could be your summer getaway for years to come.

The space
Beautiful old home on the banks of the Bay of Fundy offers spectacular ocean views with no noise pollution to ruin the moment. Star gaze at night with truly dark skies and just count the stars. Restful and quiet sleep is almost guaranteed here.

The home is mix of modern amenities displaying many interesting antiques and vintage finds. Many small kitchen and home appliances, and a new BBQ are all available for your use during your stay. A smart lock means you will never forget your front door key.

The home is turn of the century era home with lots of history and is located just 25 minutes from downtown Saint John.

First floor offers a small cozy kitchen, wood stove, powder room, dining room, living room/TV room with an extra large window facing the ocean.

Second floor offers 3 full bedrooms and a 3 piece bathroom with washer and dryer:

The space
The Beachcomber is a two bedroom cottage at New River Beach. The cottage is loft style, with the second bedroom being the entire loft floor overlooking the main living space. The cottage has live edge wood throughout, giving it a comforting feel.

On the main floor you will find the kitchen, living & dining room, wood stove fireplace, master bedroom, and a full bathroom with laundry as well as heated flooring. Out the front doors of the Beachcomber cottage you will find a wonderful ocean facing deck that is extremely welcoming, we expect you’ll love it as much as we do!

In the backyard, you will also see a bunkhouse with additional bunk beds and a small porch for sitting.
