I loved sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch and enjoying the view out on the lake. Even though it was warm, there was a bit of a breeze and there were no mosquitoes. We took the boat out around the lake and enjoyed seeing the homes on the other side of the lake. Dennis and Melanie were amazing hosts, answering all our questions and having everything ready for our visit. The guesthouse has a well supplied kitchen and bathrooms. Magnolia Pines is a beautiful industrial farmhouse home located inside the quiet, gated, retirement community of Holly Lake Ranch. It has everything you need to sleep 6 up to 15 in comfy beds. Our main house is a 2 bedroom/2 bath that sleeps 6. The bunkhouse is a separate garage apartment that is a 3 bedroom/1.5 bath that sleeps 10 (an add on of $150/night that will be charged after you book). For your convenience you can rent the main house or both structures. Since the bunkhouse does not have a kitchen we do not rent it on its own.

You can cuddle up and stay inside all weekend or venture out into the piney woods of East Texas and enjoy the numerous community amenities that Holly Lake Ranch has to offer. Our home is conveniently located just a block away from fishing, swimming pool, tennis, pickle ball, playground, walking trail, frisbee golf, putt putt golf, and a small sandy beach area to play in the lake. The 18 hole golf course, restaurant, and larger lake are within a 5 minute drive within the Ranch. We have equipment you can use while at our home. Holly Lake is a quiet community with the average resident being retired. This is not the place for a party weekend :)

Our main house has the living room with a tv, fully stocked kitchen, king master bedroom with full bath, and separate bedroom with 2 queens and a full bath. The Bunkhouse has a living area with tv, queen bedroom, and a full bath downstairs. The upstairs of the Bunkhouse has a king bedroom, bunk room with six twin beds, and a half bath. All lines and towels are provided. In addition to comfortable furnishings, our house offers two outside eating areas, fire pit with chairs, covered back porch, and a fenced in back yard with tall trees and room to kick or throw a ball around! There is Wi-fi and a washer/dryer for your use during your stay.

- "I booked this property for a men’s retreat and 6 of us stayed at the property comfortably. We booked the bunkhouse and having two living areas made it an excellent situation to do our retreat elements in the bunkhouse and our social aspects in the main house near the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would expect. We ran into a few hiccups, none of which seemed to be the fault of the homeowner in that there was new staff at the check in for the Holly Lake Security and somehow the bathroom heater was left turned on so the A/C had some trouble the first day getting to temperature but the owner was very quick to respond to texts and resolved all issues quickly. We even had a welcome message at the front door that showed the owner read our message about our intent for the weekend and it was a very kind touch. The property was beautiful and the pictures were accurate. Another note for future renters, we tried to go to the putt putt and didn’t realize you needed to bring your own gear to play… it may have been somewhere in the garage but we decided to just enjoy the pool instead and still had a great time. Would definitely come back in the future!"
