Welcome to "Sunset Retreat!” A quaint 2 bedroom, 2 bath lakefront getaway with a bonus bunkhouse located on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State. This property features a main house with a fully stocked kitchen complete with a dishwasher, a dining area and a sitting area with lake views, one full bathroom with a washer/dryer, and one bedroom with a queen bed. Additionally, there is a bonus bunkhouse a few steps away from the main house with multiple beds and a TV. Between the buildings there is off-street parking for 3 vehicles and a 4 person hot tub available for year round use. Across the quiet street there is a wonderful grassy yard area, a lakeside deck with a grill, table/chairs and an oversized dock area. Cast a line off the dock for some great fishing, float peacefully in an inflatable tube (we have 2 available for rental!), or enjoy a paddle around the lake in the 2 kayaks provided for use.

Pillows, sheets, towels, and other linens are provided for your convenience. Heating and air conditioning are provided throughout for comfort in all seasons. This property is equipped with cellular service, 500mbps+ high speed internet & Wi-Fi, and a Youtube TV. Strictly no smoking. Pets are allowed with an additional $200 pet fee which covers up to 2 pets. Please say yes to the pet option when making the reservation so you are charged correctly. This property is located about 2 miles in on a private road; bring what you need to feel settled! There is a grocery store in Union Springs, Auburn and Ithaca. There are a couple local convenience stores around Aurora.

The shoreline and lake floor is rocky/slippery. We recommend bringing/wearing water shoes for safety.

Come prepared to enjoy every day. Get up early to see the change in the color of the hills across the lake as the sun rises or watch an afternoon storm roll down the lake leaving the air clean and fresh. Enjoy the lake breeze and the sound of waves lapping against the dock. Fish off the end of the dock in one of the best fishing spots on the lake or enjoy a paddle around the lake in a kayak. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. - "My family & I had such a wonderful vacation at this house. The house is absolutely beautiful with outstanding views. The kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed. The yard was definitely a nice bonus for our dogs and young kids. We did have issues with the WiFi, but it was taken care of quickly which was much appreciated. The only con I can speak to was the cleanliness of the grill. It was quite dirty with cobwebs, bugs, etc. so my husband spent a decent amount of time scrubbing & cleaning it. All in all, it’s an amazing place for a large family. None of us wanted to leave. Highly recommend."

The house has been designed to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, with a special focus on maximizing the beautiful lake views. The first floor is open and filled with natural light, thanks to large windows overlooking the water. The kitchen is fully stocked and is open to the rest of the floor so you don't have to be apart from your group while preparing your meals. There is a dining room with seating for 6, and the cozy living room has an electric fireplace to cuddle up by on a rainy day and read a book.

Upstairs, you'll find three bedrooms. Prepare for your outings in style in the full bathroom featuring a double sink, ensuring everyone has plenty of space to get ready. One of the bedrooms has its own private bathroom complete with a rain showerhead.

Step outside through the French doors on the first floor and onto a spacious deck with outdoor seating and a dining area. A brand new dock allows you to take a refreshing swim in Cayuga Lake. There is also a grill provided. A barrel sauna is available to keep you warm on those cold nights. It can comfortably fit 4 adults, and you can squeeze 6. The lake side is all glass so you can watch the water or the sunset as you relax. You can also stay on the deck until the sun goes down and enjoy a glass of local wine while watching some of the most incredible sunsets you will ever see!
We also have a Watercraft Shed available for rent which includes 6 Lake Tubes, 4 Paddle Boards (with optional kayak seats), 2 Hard Side Kayaks, and plenty of Life Jackets. Rental Fee is $75 **per day**. After 3 days of rental the rest of your stay is free! You may choose to only rent for 1 or 2 days of your stay.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a lake house in a rural area. There will be some spiders and bugs no matter how carefully we clean. The road to the house is a 1 lane dirt road. We love the quiet seclusion and the beauty that this house has and we know you will too, but please understand the area that you will be staying in.

This is a small, quiet, dead end street. It is a private street with a strict 5mph speed limit because of the road's proximity to the houses. There are only 4 properties past this house, so there is little to no traffic at the house.

There is ample parking for cars at the house. The street is only 1 lane, so sometimes you'll need some patience getting in or out. Everyone is very friendly and will make sure you have the access you need!

Notes for Boats! The street is tight and while you'll be able to get it down to the house, turning it around is a challenge and requires an experienced driver. It is doable though. Also, the water can get very rough in even mildly bad weather so we don't allow overnight hitching of boats on the dock to avoid any dock or boat damage.

My only comment was that I had asked for early check in if possible which I really appreciated but my only complaint with the process was that we kept going back and forth on when we could meet based on running a bit late in the morning and then being pushed back an hour later than that because the owner had an appointment, only to get there and find out it was actually a self check in code anyways. She was great with communication and I appreciated her coming to show us around the house and explain some specific things but if we had known we could just check in ourselves whenever and then plan to meet with her a bit later it would’ve been more ideal. But otherwise it was a great trip!"

Amazing house right on the beautiful Cayuga Lake!! Water access and sunsets like you have never seen!! We have an outdoor shower that will feel amazing after a day on the lake. We are a mile away from Mackenzie Childs and the beautiful Aurora Inn. Across from the Inn is an awesome bar and grill.. The Fargo! About three miles away from the rusty roof house is Aurora Ale and Lager, and a few amazing wineries. What more could you ask for in a vacation?

- "Our family's stay was quite enjoyable. The house felt deceptively old and established because of the decor but everything was new and worked like a charm. The lake views were fantastic and the back porch took full advantage of them. The pier and beach were close enough to keep watch over while being far enough away to avoid the feeling of being on the deck of a cruise ship. There was plenty of space for parking in the driveway and the overall feel of the property was mostly tranquil. The house was so beyond well-stocked that it felt strange at times, like taking over someone else's home. The information about the area was nice to have and there were only a few rules to follow. We will definitely consider staying again when we return to the Finger Lakes next year!"
