- "Great place to stay with a stunning view, pool and outdoor dining area. The gardens are bursting with rosemary and flowers. In the morning the local house martins swoop down and collect bugs from the surface of the pool, it’s quite a spectacle. Great to have multiple bathrooms, comfy beds and a usable kitchen space. Only concern about the villa was there wasn’t a few of the basic kitchen things such as washing up liquid or cooking oil. There is also no air conditioning, but that was okay as all of the windows have mosquito nets over them so we could have them open in the night. Unfortunately, I’m not sure they were 100% mozzie proof so some of us still got a little bitten. The host Mauro and Paula were generally very friendly and came to water the plants on a couple of mornings as it was particularly hot. The only other things to note was additional costs required for utilities."

There are over 260 wineries in the Montalcino area, and this place is right in the middle of them. The views from the backyard are fantastic, and the pictures don’t do the beautiful vistas justice. We had a lovely week in this area. Check-in was great and the host who met us had a lovely welcome gift of local baked goods and a bottle of wine. He, Matteo, was great the entire time — very helpful and responsive! The kitchen was well-appointed with everything you need to cook there. We didn’t use the formal dining or living room, and spent most of our time there outside or in the kitchen/family room area. The pool was lovely and was cleaned twice during the week. There were ample beach towels provided and six chaise lounges — three with pads for comfort. The most important thing to know about this property which wasn’t clear to us from the listing is that there are four bedrooms upstairs and only one bathroom. The two other bathrooms are downstairs, but there are no bedrooms. We were two couples traveling together, and the upstairs bathroom was challenging to use because the door scrapes loudly on the tile floor to open or close it. We felt like it would wake up our friends if we used it. It would be an easy fix to trim the door! The stairs are steep and a little uneven, due to the age of the property. Suggestions: Upgrade the bathroom towels and provide bedroom extension cords."

- "The villa Lavacchio is a beautiful property, the taste of the interiors is exquisite, and it is a comfortable and spacious house. Tiziana looked after us beautifully, and is a very good cook. The pool is a good size and was the perfect temperature. The views are amazing, and the woodland surrounding it gives it a great sense of space and tranquility. I would very much recommend it. The only negative feedback I would give to the owner is that in several of the bedrooms the air conditioning was not working properly, and in the month of July when we were there, it was so hot in the bedrooms that some of our group could not sleep well. If air conditioning is offered it should work! Apart from that, it is a great place to gather for a peaceful intimate holiday."
