- "Great place to stay with a stunning view, pool and outdoor dining area. The gardens are bursting with rosemary and flowers. In the morning the local house martins swoop down and collect bugs from the surface of the pool, it’s quite a spectacle. Great to have multiple bathrooms, comfy beds and a usable kitchen space. Only concern about the villa was there wasn’t a few of the basic kitchen things such as washing up liquid or cooking oil. There is also no air conditioning, but that was okay as all of the windows have mosquito nets over them so we could have them open in the night. Unfortunately, I’m not sure they were 100% mozzie proof so some of us still got a little bitten. The host Mauro and Paula were generally very friendly and came to water the plants on a couple of mornings as it was particularly hot. The only other things to note was additional costs required for utilities."

There are over 260 wineries in the Montalcino area, and this place is right in the middle of them. The views from the backyard are fantastic, and the pictures don’t do the beautiful vistas justice. We had a lovely week in this area. Check-in was great and the host who met us had a lovely welcome gift of local baked goods and a bottle of wine. He, Matteo, was great the entire time — very helpful and responsive! The kitchen was well-appointed with everything you need to cook there. We didn’t use the formal dining or living room, and spent most of our time there outside or in the kitchen/family room area. The pool was lovely and was cleaned twice during the week. There were ample beach towels provided and six chaise lounges — three with pads for comfort. The most important thing to know about this property which wasn’t clear to us from the listing is that there are four bedrooms upstairs and only one bathroom. The two other bathrooms are downstairs, but there are no bedrooms. We were two couples traveling together, and the upstairs bathroom was challenging to use because the door scrapes loudly on the tile floor to open or close it. We felt like it would wake up our friends if we used it. It would be an easy fix to trim the door! The stairs are steep and a little uneven, due to the age of the property. Suggestions: Upgrade the bathroom towels and provide bedroom extension cords."

- "The villa Lavacchio is a beautiful property, the taste of the interiors is exquisite, and it is a comfortable and spacious house. Tiziana looked after us beautifully, and is a very good cook. The pool is a good size and was the perfect temperature. The views are amazing, and the woodland surrounding it gives it a great sense of space and tranquility. I would very much recommend it. The only negative feedback I would give to the owner is that in several of the bedrooms the air conditioning was not working properly, and in the month of July when we were there, it was so hot in the bedrooms that some of our group could not sleep well. Fabulous villa situated on a hill in the Tuscan countryside near Montalcino. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, it is the most suitable place to spend a holiday of peace and tranquility. We take daily trips to surrounding towns, very close to Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza, Siena, etc. It's a little far from San Gimignano (1.5 hr drive) but we managed to go and took a cooking lesson. 2.5 hrs from Rome and 1.5 hrs from Firenze. This is not a villa where you could walk around to visit the near by places and you NEED a car to get around. The Ancient Convent I Cappuccini is a complex built by the Minor Capuchin friars, of which we have news already from the end of the XV century, and it is 3 km far from the near Montalcino, famous for its excellences in the world.

The recent renovation of an old ruin, once used as stables, gave rise to Monterzi, a pretty farmhouse perched on top of a hill, in a discreet position in a property surrounded by vineyards and olive trees yet not far from the lively medieval borgo of Montisi, just a short, pleasant walk away, and from San Giovanni d'Asso, famous for the production of the delicious white truffle. During the restoration works, the stone turret, which was originally the main body of the structure, was expanded and completely renovated in accordance with the typical Tuscan style, rendering the interior comfortable and functional. The house has two floors, connected both internally and externally by staircases and, being built on sloping ground, both floors have direct access to the outside. The main entrance is under the portico and can be reached by climbing a few steps; It enters the living room with a dining area, connected with a double bedroom, a twin bedroom with joinable beds (with direct access to the outside through a French window) and a bathroom with shower. A short flight of stairs leads down to the lower floor with laundry and kitchen with outside direct access through a French window.

The house is set in an estate of about two hectares, for the most part vineyards and olive groves which characterize the surrounding landscape. The park has various types of vegetation: along the paths inside the property, where guests can stroll in pleasant tranquillity, are a variety of native shrubs and tall trees, such as maples, holm oaks, chestnuts, old oaks, lindens and fruit trees such as fig, cherry, pear and peach. A panoramic portico equipped with table and chairs (and brickwork barbecue just few steps away) completes this ideal setting, where guests can enjoy delicious meals of typical Tuscan flavour.
Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:
The swimming pool, about 15 m from the house, on a slightly lower level and wooden and net fenced with gate, is south facing in a wonderful panoramic position over the Val d'Orcia. The rectangular-shaped pool, with a ladder for access to the water, measures 4 x 8 m with a constant depth of 1.10 m. It is lined in PVC and has chlorine purification. The sunbathing area surrounding it, paved in pink stone and bordered by lavender bushes on two sides, is provided with sunbeds and has a solar-heated shower. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.
