This 1880 s storefront studio has been completely renovated and is located steps from the Historic Route 66 and the beautiful Carthage square. It's within walking distance to the Civil War Museum, shops, coffee shop, restaurants and bowling. It boasts a queen bed, loft bed, compact full kitchen, a vanity area, luxurious walk-in shower, and a toilet closet.

The re-purposed storefront apartment features floating beds made from reclaimed wood, granite counter tops in the the kitchen and vanity area and unique decor. There are many things to do within walking distance.

The entire space is yours. There are double-locking suite doors that connect to Crossroads Loft next door. The two spaces can be rented together or separately.
There is much to experience in our quaint town. There are Art Walks, Food Truck Fridays and live entertainment on the square. The Civil War Museum is literally next door. Within walking distance, there is a coffee shop, deli, an art gallery, antique shops, boutiques, bowling alley, historic courthouse, historic library, restaurants, authentic Hispanic stores and cuisine. Within a couple of miles, there is the Precious Moments Chapel, Stone s Throw Dinner Theatre, Route 66 Drive-In Movie Theatre, The Power s Museum, Municipal Park Golf Course, and historic Victorian homes.

We live a few miles from the space, so if there is ever an emergency, we are a phone call away.

There is free parking on the street right in front of building. The parking is limited to two hours from 8-5 M-F. There is a free city lot a block away.

The only drawback is that 2 people getting ready at the same time may have some conflict in the small bathroom. Come stay at our stylish downtown loft! It's perfect for families, a group getaway, executives, or a couples escape. There are no quiet hours, our loft is above a bar and event space, but the noise is almost always gone by midnight, we provide earplugs by the beds. The only access is stairs, so you get to skip the stair master for the time you are here! 😃 The property is 2,400 square feet, so plenty of space. AND It's right in the middle of some of our greatest locally-owned restaurants, nightlife, boutique shopping, and coffee shops in Joplin. The new Arts and Entertainment Complex is just a few blocks away, also.

There are 3 bedrooms (2 king and 1 queen) and 2 full bathrooms. There are 2 separate comfy living rooms, a billiard room, and a laundry room in the unit. The kitchen has all you will need! You also need to know that there are a lot of stairs. And NO quiet hours. The business is below usually are closed around midnight. So it’s not loud after that generally. We do provide earplugs 😊

The air was nice and cold, the full kitchen well stocked for Keurig coffee and the game room was awesome. We played pool and darts and there were a variety of board and card games as well. "Thirties" is a charming 600 sq ft studio apartment on the lower level of Stirling Cottage, (the farmhouse above that can sleep up to 16 people.)
It is a perfect place for a casual weekend or for longer term lodging (which comes with a significant discount.) Thirties features a hand-built (sorry, non-working) massive stone fireplace, a fully equipped 1930's - style kitchen, and unique bathroom. The main room has a daybed that sleeps two, with an art screen that separates it from the "bedroom" with twin beds. (Ample floor space would allow 2 extra guests on air mattresses - extra charge of $20/person/night.) An inside stairway connects Thirties to Stirling, - together, they can sleep up to 22 people. Or the stairway door can be locked on both sides for guest privacy - Thirties has its own private entry.

Situated on 60 beautiful, peaceful acres, we are a working farm with a "laughing creek" bordering the west edge of the property. Stroll the property, lounge in the hammock with one of the affectionate cats, listen to the birds, have morning coffee leisurely at the table under the trees,
and take a journey back to a simpler time with the vintage ambiance of this lodging.
PLEASE NOTE: I cannot accommodate animals inside the apartment because so many of my guests have allergies.

FARM TOUR
At the Cottage farm, (weather/season permitting,) we offer a Farm Tour which includes interacting with and hand-feeding Hannah & Hezzy, our long-hair Scottish Highland heifer & bull; Tom and Harry, our two Alpacas; Rebecca, our LaMancha milk goat (and the other goats;) Libby, Valiant, & Esther, our Anatolian/Pyrenees goat guardians; and, Jill, the affectionate barn cat.
Across the road at the Stirling farm are beautiful St. Gertrudis cattle, my assortment of chickens, and more sweet, affectionate cats. In addition to interacting and hand-feeding the animals (except Libby,) the tour includes milking lessons (when Rebecca is still producing,) and egg collection - $30 for 1-10 people - $40 for 11-20.

MASSAGE:
I am acquainted with an experienced massage therapist, who brings her table and supplies to the property. One recent guest who has experienced professional massage therapy in many of her world-wide travels, said, "Elise gave me the best massage I have ever had!" And another said, - “ Elise gave Rich the best massage he has had since we left Arizona 20 years ago!” (Advanced notice necessary-payment made directly to Elise.)

CATERING:
There are also two caterers within five miles of the farm:
Angie Smith – catering – smoked meats, etc.
Mende Staggs – cakes and full meal catering.
Communication and payment made directly to them.

The Courtyard Suite has a king bed. The bathroom has a walk in shower. We allow a maximum of two guests at the property.

The guest house is attached to the main house via a breezeway. There is a covered pavilion where you can grill and eat. The courtyard has a pool that is open from May through late September. We have over an acre fenced in backyard with a walking trail. The home is pet friendly. Friendly pets can run free in the backyard but need a leash around the courtyard/pool area.

There are two friendly cats on the property. They are current on their shots.

While Clay enjoys utilizing this space for travelers who are coming to the area for various reasons, Klaver Cottage is unavailable to rent for parties or miscellaneous reasons for locals to gather. He appreciates your understanding.

At Klaver Cottage you will find a king size bed and convertible sofa in a studio space conntected to the fully equipped kitchenette and bar area with a large flat screen TV. The spacious bathroom includes a 48” shower. During the summer months guests have access to the pool and outside space.

Please park in the west side (right side )of our driveway. If there is a vehicle in the drive way it is fine to park behind it. There is a teak path on the west side of the garage that will lead you around back to the cottage. The keys will be on the bar inside and the sliding glass door will be unlocked.

Please do not take any glass outside on the patio or to the pool area; cans only or use the blue silicone drink ware that is provided. If there is an accident and glass gets broken it could puncture the pool liner or pool cover.

During the off season the pool is closed for the season but you are still welcome to enjoy yourself outside and use the outside accommodations.

Outside quiet hours are from 11pm-8am. No loud outside noise. Which doesn’t mean you aren’t free to be outside and enjoy yourself!! :)

Please keep in mind this cottage is located at our home. There is no guarantee of private use of the outdoor space and if our family is home and wants to utilize the outdoor space we will but welcome you to use it as well!

Upon departure:
1. bag your trash, take it out and put it in the big garbage can in front of our garage.
2. put the dirty towels in a pile on the bathroom floor.
3. leave the keys on the bar leaving the cottage unlocked.

Plenty of space for the kids to goof off (unlike a motel room where there's hardly any floor space that isn't taken up by beds, tables, etc). Only suggestion would be maybe make a guest profile for the Netflix, prime, etc accounts or else log out of them so we can cast from our own phones to the smart tv. Tried casting to the tv since it showed up on my phone but it wouldn't let me since it was logged in to the owners account. Otherwise, great place to spend a few nights. Would stay again if visiting the area in the future."

Any changes are REQUIRED to be approved by host before your stay, per our insurance regulations. Failure to provide this will result in reservation cancellation and/or additional fees.

2) We want to make your stay the very best it can be! If you like, please let us know what brings you to town and we will be more than happy to make some suggestions for restaurants, shopping, entertainment, parks and anything else that might be of interest to you.

• More than the registered people in the reservation overnight will result in fines up to $150 per person, per day.

• There is a maximum guest limit of 8 people during daytime hours (7 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Non-registered guests must leave by 10 p.m. Only the people named & listed in the reservation can spend the night.

• No smoking inside or outside the unit. Renters will be charged $250 for violation.

• If you break the no pets policy there will be a $150 dollar fee in addition to a special pet cleaning fee of $150 for a total of $300 additional charges.

• Stays longer than 21 days will result in an additional $250 cleaning fee.

• Quiet time is from 10 p.m.-7 a.m.
