- "Fabulous location just a stones throw from the beach. Everything you needed was in the cottage. Floors a bit creaky but to be expected in an old building. No trouble parking on the street though not sure if this is the case in the height of summer. Bit confusing about rubbish(other than a weekly collection mentioned) but found recyling bins on the promenade and a biffa bin near the harbour for general waste. Good collection of books (read 2 during my stay!)Would happily stay at Bari again."

- "Fab weekend at the cottage. Weather not great, but at least we were able to get out & about. Cottage had everything we needed & hosts were very obliging. Ideal location to travel to Aberaeron or Aberystwyth plus other places/beaches in between. Plum & apple trees outside our front door, which we were allowed to pick mmmmmm. The grounds are picturesque and pleasant to walk around on your own or with your dog, but keep your dog on a lead as there are geese and chickens running freely. The donkeys are very friendly and trot up to the fence to greet you as you pass. This is somewhere I would definitely like to return to."

Do you need more space so that your friends and family can join you?

- "A big thank you for a wonderful stay in your fantastic property! Your warm welcome and complimentary biscuits were appreciated, although my 14-year-old son almost polished off alone! A great location that saw us visit some unique places locally, making this our best post-COVID retreat to date! We'll definitely be back for more!" - "This is a long review…but worth it! This is our second visit to Wales and have stayed at numerous vacation rental properties, and this one was by the far the best. Check-in was a breeze and the owners were easy to contact. The property included nice, personal touches including a welcome letter, fresh eggs and my now favorite cookies (too bad I can’t find them in America). They also included walking maps of the area which came in very handy when exploring the surrounding countryside. The layout was spacious… perfect for a family of five, with plenty of room for all of us. One of the most pleasant parts of our time at the cottage was visiting with all of the animals. Friendly dogs and chickens roamed freely around the farm and lent our stay a feeling of welcomeness. But the best part was getting a chance to visit the two friendly pigs and scratch their belly’s. We were so charmed by the surroundings and animals, we spent one day of our vacation exploring the farm, petting the animals and walking the country paths. It was at the end of our stay where we learned just our hospitable and gracious our hosts truly were. Because of a broken down rental car, our family of five (3 kids in tow) found ourselves stranded at the cottage on a Sunday, with no way to get to our next destination. After letting Daniela know of our predicament, they offered us a ride to our next destination. On a Sunday. Two hours away! I have never experienced such kindness on a trip before."

Glynnedd is a beautifully presented and spacious dormer bungalow, with a high standard of comfort, set within the peaceful village of Bronant. You are assured of a warm Welsh welcome by the owners, or “Croeso Cynnes” as they say in Wales. The house is perfect for anyone needing a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, and an access ramp is also available in the property. Its enclosed garden has country views, including the stunning Cambrian Mountains, and is ideally situated to provide an excellent touring base from which to explore Cardigan Bay, the Heritage Coastline and the wonderful county of Ceredigon.
The rural surroundings of this holiday cottage really are an undiscovered gem. The sparsely populated county of Ceredigon offers roads that are untroubled by traffic, footpaths and bridleways that can often be explored without coming across another person. The terrain is excellent for cycling (on or off-road), motorbike and motor touring, walking, birdwatching, fishing and horse riding. If you like to explore the culture and history of the area, you can visit ancient churches, the ruined Cistercian Abbey of Strata Florida and Wales’ most remote chapel in the hills, Soar Y Mynydd. The Tregaron to Abergwesyn mountain road is well-worth driving as it offers wide open vistas of remote mountains and moorland. A world away from the bustling cities and hectic motorways, this is probably the greatest wilderness in southern Britain.
Just 6 miles away is the delightful town of Tregaron, steeped in history and famous for being a gathering place for the drovers who, before the advent of rail transport, herded large numbers of cattle, sheep and even geese, hundreds of miles to the markets of south east England. Today, the very small town still has a friendly atmosphere and boasts independent shops and an award-winning bar and restaurant. From here you can also visit the Cors Caron Nature Reserve, the largest raised bog in Britain with boardwalks winding through it.
Within half an hour’s drive you can visit the picturesque and colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron, the seaside resort of Aberystwyth, with its long promenade and pier, the longest electric cliff railway in Britain, running since 1896, and the Rheidol steam railway. Visit Rhiannon’s Welsh Gold, Red Kite Centre, and the waterfalls at Devil’s Bridge. A 45 minute drive will bring you to New Quay, a quaint fishing town with lovely beaches and famous for its seafood restaurants and boat rides. Pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

- "Lovely owners very quiet and peaceful" - "Stunning in every way. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo" - "I managed to book as a special treat for our wedding anniversary, due to someone cancelling, when we arrived we were greeted by Simone the owner, a very nice and honest lady, she gave us a verbal tour of the area and introduced us to her pet sheep -( Larry and Mo ) and her 3 old English Sheep dogs, social distancing was observed On entering the property we were delighted to see there were all that we needed and more, we only needed to bring food and clothes , everything else was supplied, right down to the shower gel. Now the walk down to Aberystwyth... the best way we found was walking down the lane and catching the funicular railway back up and walking round the fields, the walk back up the lane is not a fun walk 掠 ( we tried it once )... but it will cost u £4.50 single each person... the best £9 spent . The views from the cottage is amazing well worth the visit, we will definitely return Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo"

The cottage itself is finished to a high standard and has a very secure back garden which was a must for us with our two retired greyhounds. We found the only down side really was that you had to get in the car to go anywhere to eat and also to take the dogs for a walk - although there was a short walk around the grounds that could be used. It was nice to get away after everything that has happened this year but because of this we found that quite a few of the places we would like to have visited were closed temporarily. We have already said we would like to go back possibly next year when - hopefully - more things will have re-opened. All in all a great week - thank you Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo"

Please note: There is an unfenced slope in the garden.. This wonderful, detached property is a stunning example of a Welsh long barn and sits within the Hafod Forestry Commission Estate, which occupies about 500 acres of the Ystwyth Valley. The estate was designed in the late 18th century and although the original mansion is gone, the historic walks network has been restored to allow you to enjoy this wonderful landscape.
The owners have lovingly restored this property and created something truly luxurious. It’s all on one level and so much detail has gone into it, from the fixtures and fittings to the lighting and soft furnishings. The large open plan living, dining and kitchen area leads directly to the large garden via bi-fold doors, out onto the decked terrace with a firepit and barbecue. The master bedroom has a handmade feature kingsize bed and a huge en-suite bathroom with double ended free standing bath, twin basins and a walk-in wetroom with special light effect to tell you when the water is warm! There are two further bedrooms, each with their own special lighting effects, the twin has a ‘cosmic’ ceiling and the kingsize bedroom has romantic, twinkly drapes around the bed. A ‘Jack and Jill’ family bathroom can be accessed from the kingsize bedroom or from the hallway and has an eye catching copper sink set within an oak barrel. There is also an additional cloakroom with toilet. Access to the property is via an unmade stone road which is unlit.
The views are amazing and you’ll probably while away many an hour watching the variety of visiting birds and often see red kites and buzzards circling overhead. From the doorstep of the barn, the estate can be explored on foot (there are five way-marked walks of varying length and difficulty), where there are streams, waterfalls and rustic bridges to discover. It provides an excellent base for exploring and taking part in activities such as canoeing, mountain biking, horse riding and walking, or just relaxing in a ‘get away from it all’ location.
Nearby attractions include Devils Bridge, first built by monks in the 11th century and from where you can take the Vale of Rheidol steam train that meanders through the valley to the seaside town of Aberystwyth, and the Silver Mountain Experience, an 18th-century silver-rich lead mine. A 30-minute drive will bring you to the attractive Ceredigion coastline with an array of beaches and coastal towns and villages. The Pendre Longbarn is a unique property in an idyllic spot so come and see for yourself! Beach 15 miles. Pub/restaurant is 4 miles away. Supermarkets are in Aberystwyth 12 miles away. Some guests like to pre order groceries to be delivered.

The name, the Plucking Barn originates from the days of old when the barn was used to prepare ducks and chickens. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms, one a double and the other a twin. They both have access to the lovely shower room with walk-in shower. There’s also an outside seating area right by the barn with barbecue, table and chairs and a great enclosed paddock for exercising dogs right opposite.

The pretty coastal resort of New Quay and the colourful Georgian harbour town Aberaeron can be easily reached within 30 minutes’ drive. You’re very likely to see dolphins in the bay and there are boat trips available to watch them and the other wildlife. The Victorian seaside and university town of Aberystwyth is also within easy reach and here you’ll find a traditional pier, promenade and the old electric cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill where you can enjoy a really panoramic view of the bay.
If outdoor activities are your thing, there are plenty of options for walkers and cyclists of all abilities as well as horse riding, canoeing and more. Families can enjoy a day out at the National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mines at Pumsaint, the Silver Mountain Experience (silver-lead mines) at Ponterwyd or the red kite feeding centre at Bwlch Nant Yr Arian. Or why not take a trip on a traditional steam train from Abersytwyth to the falls at Devil’s Bridge? There’s far more to see and do here in this diverse and culturally rich part of Wales than can be written in a few lines, so why not book a break or a longer stay at the Plucking Barn – you won’t be disappointed. Please note: This property is situated on a farm environment - care should be taken at all times, especially with young children.. Tyllwyd, so named after the grey stone used to build this Victorian, detached farmhouse, is wonderfully situated within 80-acres of farmland, which takes full advantage of the glorious hillside views of the Rheidol Valley or “Cwm Rheidol”. The farm now only grazes cattle and sheep, along with hay and silage crops taken from the fields throughout the summer. There is record of a Tyllwyd at this location dating back to 1716 and it may have been part of the Abertrinant Estate at this time. Most of the estate was sold in 1830 and the census from 1841 and 1851 show farmers with their families living at Tyllwyd along with their servants. A later census records lead miners and farm labourer’s residing at Tyllwyd. Only one other building survives from this period and this was the milking parlour, until 2003. The extent of the farm and the house today were probably established in the late 19th Century and was built with servants’ quarters that are now the bathroom and utility room. Servants continued to be employed at the farm and maybe as late as the 1940s. A dairy herd was established with 70 cows and the milking parlour was installed in one of the old 19th-century buildings. Potatoes were also grown and supplied the local chip shops in Aberystwyth. Dairy farming continued at the farm up until 2003.
The house has now been carefully and lovingly restored by the present owners, retaining period features, including original flagstone flooring, that gives the house its character. The spacious country kitchen, with a traditional clothes airing pulley, features a large range cooker with three ovens. The kitchen is open plan with the comfortable dining area so it’s the perfect place for a sociable gathering with friends or family. The living room boasts a cosy wood burner and there’s an adjoining games room to enjoy with table football and darts. On the first floor there are four light and airy attractive bedrooms, two with double aspect windows. The master bedroom features an en-suite shower room and walk-in dressing room. Outside, the large garden is great for children to enjoy and adults to appreciate sitting out with a glass of wine around the fire pit on colder evenings.
Capel Bangor has a pub which serves quality food using local produce, fine wines and real ales.
The Vale of Rheidol narrow gauge steam locomotive is the finest way to explore the stunning Rheidol Valley. Opened in 1902, the railway has been delighting passengers young and old for over a century and the train which begins in Aberystwyth calls at Capel Bangor station on its way to Devil’s Bridge where you can alight to visit the unique waterfalls that have attracted many thousands of visitors since the 18th Century, including William Wordsworth who wrote about the "Torrent at the Devil’s Bridge". Today, the Falls Nature Trail provides a unique opportunity to see this great natural feature in the Rheidol Gorge. Birds of prey such as red kite and buzzards are regularly seen soaring high above the valley floor and breathtaking views can be enjoyed by all.
Stay at lovely Tyllwyd Farmhouse and enjoy this distinctive Welsh region with a thriving cultural identity. It’s perfect for a weekend break or a longer stay with award-winning beaches, sandy coves, sea cliffs, caves and wonderful wildlife, spectacular sunsets and starry dark skies. Horse riding is available just 1½ miles away. Fishing is available nearby, a licence is required and permits are available through Aberystwyth Angling Association. There is also sea fishing in Aberystwyth. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
Please be aware this property is situated on a farm environment, during certain times of the year there will be farm machinery entering/leaving the yard, care should be taken at all times, especially with young children.
- "Beautifully restored rustic charming house. Felt at home from stepping through the door." - "We arrived to a lovely warm farmhouse and a local produce welcome pack for us. Even the dog had little treats, a bed and bowls which was really thoughtful. The rooms were all generously sized with lofty ceilings and furnished tastefully. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were modern, the games room was a treat for the kids and the walks round the farm and up onto the hill gave us some great views. We will definitely be back in the summer. Close to Aberystwyth and everything you could need, but far enough out to feel like you’re the only person in the world. I would 1000% stay here again." - "Lovely quiet spot, lovely accommodation" - "What a delightful cottage in a marvellous setting. So peaceful. Just the rest we all needed. Lovely little detached bolthole in the countryside, but close to the beautiful Cardigan Bay Coastal Path, sandy beaches and the villages of Aberaeron and New Quay where the bottlenose dolphins can be seen. The University Town of Lampeter is approximately 4 miles away with shops and restaurants.
Ideal place to chill out relax and unwind from everyday life.

Private detached little cottage - NO light pollution here
Quirky little 1 bedroom cottage.
Please note before booking: This is an old cottage set in the countryside, but only a short drive to the beautiful Cardigan Bay Coast where the famous bottle nose dolphins can often be seen. The cottage does has bumpy walls, a low ceiling in the lounge and is far from perfect and has old features still present, you might also come across the odd spider, cobweb and countryside smells as it is in the countryside, but that doesn't mean it is not clean or unhygienic, its part of the character of the cottage and the area it is in. We never claim it to be a 5* property, but we can say it is a lovely cosy cottage.
If you are looking for a perfect newly modernised property with nothing out of place and a small outdoor area then this one might not be for you.
There are no shops or pubs within walking distance of this cottage and the phone signal is not the best but the cottage does have Wifi.

There is a wide screen HD tv with DVD player, dvd's, books and games. Patio doors open from the living room onto a small patio area with garden furniture.
The space
We are ideally placed to explore the seaside village of Borth and the sand dunes of Ynyslas, as well as offering easy access to Aberystwyth, 6 miles away with its university, castle and harbour.
The Wales Coastal Path, the Dyfi Osprey Project, the feeding of red kites at Nant Yr Arian, all these are within easy reach.
Off road parking is available for up to two cars and is accessed by a shared driveway with our own property.
We supply bedlinen and towels and have a travel cot and highchair if required.
