Really sweet cottage, modernized in recent years, situated in a conservation area. Decorated to a high standard throughout. Ideal for romantic getaways, fun-filled holidays for small families by the sea, discovering Portsmouth, Hampshire & the South coast and business trips.

Our cottage is spotlessly clean and has two bedrooms, one with large double bed and one twin - the twin has a 'zip and link' bed which can be made up into a large double. Our living/ dining room leads onto the bathroom and kitchen. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need in a home away from home. Bathroom, as in many Victorian properties, is located on the ground floor. Garden has a patio area and lawn.
We are located 15 minutes from the seafront and conveniently located for lots and lots of fun activities and attractions. Also, minutes away from Albert Road with it's many restaurants.
A car is useful but not an essential. For those with a car, parking is available. For those without, there is a good local bus and train service.
Southsea, Portsmouth is a perfect location for any type of holiday and at any time of year – short city breaks, surprise Valentine’s/ anniversary getaways, Easter holidays, educational half term breaks, summer holidays by the sea, the Great South Run, Christmas and January Sales shopping. There is something for everyone. It is an ideal location for a holiday in Britain no matter what the weather or the time of year.
The cottage, as well as ideally located for visiting Portsmouth, is a perfect base for visiting the south coast and key locations further afield – central London is only 90 minutes away by train.

- "PROS: Great location! Walkable to gunwarf, canoe lake, the pier, restaurants, and fun shopping. The yard size was great! The home was totally clean and well cared for. Wi-fi worked well, there was plenty of space in the living room and dining room. All kitchen appliances worked well and the kitchen was stocked with the essentials. Complaints: You have to get through 3 locks to enter the home-a skeleton key for the main gate which has to be locked coming back in, there was a key for the door as well as a key for the bottom of the door, which had to be locked on the inside as well. I highly suggest upgrading this system and, for my next point, putting an inside security lock in. The morning following our arrival, a handiman entered the home without knocking and my daughter was in the bathroom on the toilet without a shirt on. The bathroom faces the front entrance. Although I don't think that he saw her, she was mortified and for the rest of the week would not sleep in her own bed as she was scared this man would return. It still made us uneasy as there was no security lock inside.No central heating and half of the radiators did not work, including the living room which we couldn't use at night because of how cold it was. I messaged on vrbo and text both numbers and no response, so we just had to deal with the cold. Toilet seat was broken, but we fixed it. No dressers for clothes. No games or anything, just basic. Good on a budget, but don't expect much. 0 communication."

Purple Cloud is an ideal semi-detached cottage for you and your loved ones to spend Staycation. The cottage is just for you! The house consists of 3 double bedrooms on the first floor, further ground floor double bedroom facing the garden path, lounge/sitting room with smart TV, fully equipped for master chef kitchen/diner, two ground floor shower/WC rooms and generous garden with a dining table. Due to near cul-de-sac it is easy to find an available spot to park on street and parking permit for one car is included in the booking fee.

Once parked you are unlikely to need your car during your stay because everything is so close by to walk to! Food shops, restaurants, the seafront. There are many buses and taxis too if you wanted to venture to Gunwharf, not forgetting the Voi electric scooters.
Part of the charm of Tide Cottage is the age of the property. It was built in 1850 and has been renovated for modern living, though the original staircase remains. The staircase may be steeper and have shallower stair treads than you are used to, with a tight turn. Whilst we have built a very strong and sturdy handrail, if you or anyone in your party have any mobility limitations, staying at Tide Cottage will not be suitable.
