Along with the easy beach access you get a stunning sunrise view. You can see the water from the master bedroom and the large, gated deck from the living room. The deck has 2 Adirondack-style chairs and a patio set perfect for both lounging and dining outdoors. If you need to rinse off after the beach, the private outdoor shower is an unexpected convenience.

If you would like to bring your pet please contact us so we can get information and approve your pet. We have pet bowls, pet towels, and a large kennel available for your use. There is a daily fee of $20 per pet. Also, we require your pet(s) to be on flea preventative and up to date on vaccinations.

Close by is public access to the Atlantic Recreation Center with a swimming pool, splash park, fitness center, and a wonderful kids playground. There is also a movie theater 15 minutes away. The kitchen has beautiful granite counter tops, all new stainless steel appliances, a large pantry, and everything you need to prepare fabulous meals in the comfort of your very own beach cottage. The living area is equally inviting and includes a 42-inch flat screen TV, and a Blu-Ray/DVD player. You'll also find a washer and dryer in the pantry.

Linens are provided, including sheets, bath towels, kitchen towels, beach towels, and dog drying towels.

In the master bedroom, you will find the decor to have a playful yet sophisticated feel. It includes a very comfortable king size bed, a flat screen TV, and an in-suite bathroom with a combined shower and tub. The guest bedroom has one twin and one double bed, and a flat screen TV. It's the perfect place for your kids or guests. The second bathroom also has a combined shower and tub and is centrally located off the main hallway. The cottage includes free Wi-Fi and cable TV.

Went down to the beach and watched the sunrise each morning over the ocean and then walked practically around the corner and up the street to Eagen's Greenway for some great birding! Saw a painted bunting each day though he stayed too far away to get a really great photo as well as an alligator, some bunnies and turtles! Cardinals were everywhere. Saw two Carolina Chickadees right off your front porch and many shore birds at the beach too. We drove down to the bridge and saw the Spoonbills. We ate at Arte's Pizza and twice at the Salty Pelican where we had great seats for the sunset. I sure hope we can get to Fernandino Beach again and stay at your place. A true hidden gem as the guests would say! This space is a renovated guest house/in-law suite (above our garage). We are located across the street from the beach with private beach access. This space is detached from the main house and has its' own entrance and separate HVAC. It features a fully stocked kitchen, 1 bedroom with king size bed, sectional couch with pull out full bed and 1 full bathroom. NO smoking/vaping in or on the property.

This is our guest house apartment/in-law suite located above our garage. We live here full-time in the main house. The detached guest house is above our garage and you will hear the garage open/close and vehicles pulling entering/exiting through various times of the day/night. In the communal laundry room, you'll find a new LG washer and dryer, along with an iron and ironing board. There’s also a Miele vacuum, broom, and Swiffer Jet available. The remote for the Edison lights is on the water heater. For outdoor use, a set of adjustable dumbbells (up to 50 lbs) is provided. Please return all items to their original places after use.

SECURITY
This quiet area is home to retirees, college students, blue-collar workers, and young families. For added security, we have RING Motion-Activated Lighting and security cameras monitoring the outside perimeter and driveway, all positioned externally. The property is situated in a peaceful, established neighborhood with homes dating back around 70 years. When we’re not traveling, we reside just three doors down in a gray remodeled Craftsman home.

PARKING
Private parking is available: Cottage guests park on the left side, while Bungalow guests use the right side, with each side providing two parking spaces. There is also a shared paver parking pad parallel to the street for your use. Free and legal daily/overnight parking is available on the neighborhood street if needed.

HOUSE RULES
We have a strict NO SMOKING policy inside our units, which includes vaping, incense, cigarettes, marijuana, and other substances. If you need to smoke, please do so outside. Be mindful that the backyard is a shared space with other guests. Smoke damage remediation is very expensive and will be charged to those who violate this rule, so we ask for your cooperation. Parties and events are not permitted without our permission, and the use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited.

Some time in the late twenties, early thirties a sea captain built a one-room beach house two and a half blocks from the ocean. It resembled the inside of a ship’s cabin with a pull down bed, built-in shelves and cabinets to maximize space. The exterior structure still stands and is the main living space of this original Florida beach cottage, now expanded to include a kitchen and dining room and large master bedroom with spacious bath. 900 square feet in all and creatively renovated, The Beach House as we call it, lies only two and a half blocks from the beach and sports a comfortable back patio, brick wood grill and portable gas grill, and bike shed. The impression is one of ease and efficiency. Everything has its place and there is a place for everything. Even better, all utilities, subscription television channels and high speed streaming quality internet are all included in the price.

The interior walls are shiplap boards and in the bedroom, the boards run up the wall and along the ceiling, accentuating the cottage feel. Exterior hardy board give the cottage an old-world feel, especially with the white-railed porch in front. Tastefully decorated and landscaped, this house calls to your simpler nature when you might shower outside after the beach and dry in a lawn chair. In the mornings when the day is still cool and the birds are singing, I sit in the Adirondack chair on the front porch and work on my laptop. Life is too good.

Fully up to date with modern necessities like WiFi, Amazon firestick (just say "Alexa"), flat screen wall mounted TV, brand new microwave, dishwasher, dual fuel range and refrigerator, front loading washer/dryer, it has all that you need to feel comfortable with none of the stresses of busy streets and noisy neighbors. Take a bike ride (bikes provided) to Jax Beach Pier, walk into the Beaches Town Center (only seven blocks away) for dinner or frozen yogurt, or buzz over the Intercoastal Waterway and pick up a gourmet dinner from Fresh Market. Walk to the beach, have wine in the back yard, grill out burgers and roast vegetables, all this and more and yet life stays simple. We hope you will enjoy the Salt Life as much as we do.

Atlantic beach ordinance requires a THREE MONTH MINIMUM RENTAL and have personally contacted me about this. Also, it is important to know that PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED and this is non-negotiable. - "This little guesthouse is quite adequate for a single person needing a short-term place to stay. I stayed here for a couple of weeks while relocating to the area and searching for a more permanent home. It is in a very quiet neighborhood (but there was some noise from someone doing lawn work and sawing - a neighbor perhaps - on a Saturday when I wanted to sleep in, a little annoying, but unavoidable). The owner was very speedy in getting back to me when I checked-in and inquired about the wi-fi password. The guesthouse does have a very, very tiny shower. I can deal with small spaces just fine, but others may need to consider whether a shower smaller than a phone booth will work for them. Like everywhere in this part of the country, air conditioning is a necessity. The window unit a/c works just fine, but some guests may want to bring ear plugs to offset the noise from the unit while sleeping at night. Because of Florida's high humidity and its interaction with woodsy environments (indoor and outdoor), you might bring a scented candle with you to light from time to time. There is a sports bar with a fairly decent menu within walking distance, as well as a gas station with made-to-order sandwiches and other items. Overall, it was a reasonably good stay. I would stay here again if the need arises."

Or have a getaway with a small group of friends or family? If so, then this cottage, within walking distance to the beach, is for you!

The covered front porch is an ideal setting for chatting with the neighbors and sipping on lemonade. To the left of the duplex is a courtyard and a spiral staircase leading to the roof top deck, with enough seating for your group. This deck gives you the best of both worlds with privacy and limited ocean views. Perfect for those windy beach nights gazing at the stars!

As you enter this duplex, you will notice the unique design of the cottage, with the common areas of the living room, dining room, and kitchen along the right side and the private areas of the bedrooms and bathrooms along the left side of the cottage. The master bedroom has a queen size bed with an ensuite bathroom featuring a tub/shower combination with beachy themes. The second bedroom has a queen size bed also with ensuite bathroom featuring a small walk-in shower and plenty of closet space with tropical and tribal themes. This is a perfect set up for a getaway to our little island! This property sleeps up to 3 people. No more than 3 people allowed to occupy the rental at any given time.

The space
This townhouse is located on Fanning Island, one of the barrier islands along the St. Johns River. Guests can dolphin watch as they relax in one of the most beautiful places in Jacksonville. This the perfect place to enjoy privacy yet remain to close to everything Jacksonville has to offer.
For offshore fisherman, we are 1/2 mile from Jim King Park and boat ramp, home of the Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament. Additionally, we are 15 minutes from JaxPort Cruise Terminal.
For those interested in fishing off the dock feel free to bring your fishing gear. There a bait store close to the property.

Guest access
You will access to kitchen, laundry room, wifi, and cable tv included. We will provide coffee and tea. We can stock groceries for guests upon request. Guests can place and pay for their grocery orders online from Walmart at Hutchinson Park location, set a time for pick up and we will handle the rest. Let us know what you need.
Guests will have full and private access to the pool during their stay.

** PLEASE READ** We have artisan well water which has many health benefits but is not chlorinated and has a different taste and smell. Some guests are not familiar with sulfur water and might find it to be very strong in odor.
