This is a fully furnished 1 bed/1bath second floor apartment that is close to Union Hospital! It has a comfortable Queen bed, a couch, and dining table. The house is an older brick home that has been restored, and modernized. Expect privacy and modern comforts with a classic feel. The space
The house is located downtown Fort Wayne, but just far enough away to be tucked into a quiet street. The greyhound station is 5 blocks away, and the city is very bike friendly. Some of the best restaurants in Fort Wayne, including a resturant/distillery, are only a few blocks away.

I take cleaning and sanitation seriously. All linen and blankets are washed and sanitized between every guest, every time. Pillows are sanitized on high heat and enclosed with a zippered pillow case every time. All surfaces are clean wiped and sanitized. Floors are always swept and mopped between guests. A day is placed between bookings to ensure plenty of time for cleaning. Dishwear is washed using high heat every time. Please let me know if you have any additional health and safety requests.

This is a Private Room with its own Lock. The bathroom, Living Room and kitchen are shared with other guests. The laundry facility is in the basement and you are welcome to use it responsibly. You will get your own cabinet space and fridge space. Parking is free street parking or park behind the house.

Our beautifully restored 1880s home, 2 miles to Earlham, features fine woodwork and architectural detail. Two guest bedrooms upstairs sleep two each with shared bath. Listing is for one BR, inquire if you want to rent both. LGBTQ welcome.
We do not offer self checkin, thus it is important that guests provide an accurate estimate of arrival time.

The space
Surprisingly cozy, “Arden Hearth” is a grand old Victorian with seven decorative fireplaces, a sweeping entrance hall, front and back parlors, and a stunning oval dining room. Upstairs, the front two adjacent bedrooms are ideal for a family, with a queen bed in one and two twin beds in the other. Guests share one large bath with shower and tub upstairs; there is also a downstairs bath without shower. Although there is no central A/C, older homes were built to maintain comfortable temps year-round. In summer, we provide a window AC unit in the primary guest bedroom, and in winter, we provide an electric space heater and down comforters. The house is not handicap-accessible; you must be able to climb stairs. There are a few steps outside leading up to the entrance that do not have a railing. Inside, the bedrooms are on the second floor with a long flight of stairs, but there is a hand rail along those stairs.

Guest access
Guests may relax and visit in the parlors or enjoy walking the meditation labyrinth in the back garden. They may also reserve the downstairs for small gatherings such as birthday parties, bridal showers, or reunions for an additional fee, depending on the size of the group and duration of the event.

We work out of our home and thus are around quite a bit. We are happy to share the history of the house with guests and offer info on places to go and things to do in the area. While we enjoy getting to know folks who visit, we are also fine with giving you space if you prefer. Just let us know what you’re comfortable with, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
