It sits in a beautiful small town called Belleview.IA with lots of parks and access to the river and tons of shops and diners just a short walk away. Although the staff is off site they are super friendly, honest and pretty knowledgeable about the area which is great for first time visitors. The property was super clean and offers an amazing view of the Mississippi River and the lock and damn. My only bummer was the property is not in partnership with the property down the hill so you can not walk down the hill and fish off the dock which really sucked when bass where jumping to the surface for food. But all in all 10/10 best place to take a vacation. There are other fishing spots just a short walk or drive away."

The property is beautiful but all of the big divots in the ground rolled many ankles of several family members while we were out front playing yard games. All in all, we were there to spend time together as a larger family and we were able to successfully do that. We enjoyed our time."

The Martin Hughes House is a nationally registered historic property and local landmark. It was build as the mansion for Martin Hughes. This room we have available is one of the original bedrooms with one closet. It is setup for two traveling companions (Guests) with a desk, two setting chairs and two twin beds. Guests are welcome to use the amenities of our home such as the kitchen, gym, den, washer/dryer. We welcome you to come stay with us in the Martin Hughes House!

The space
Come stay in the Martin Hughes House, a nationally registered historic property and local landmark. This mansion was built in 1888. Martin Hughes was a local brick manufacturer, his home incorporates many different brick architecture styles which he used as a place to bring potential clients. We are top hosts and enjoy sharing our home with our guests! Guests are welcome to socialize with us and other guests or quietly stay for a night while traveling!

During your stay
If you like your space, we will leave you alone. If you want a host, we're happy to welcome you into our family!

Other things to note
We have two parrots and a handful of finches that also occupy the house as well. They are quite friendly and love to meet the guests.

This is an apartment in a historic home and on a street with historic homes. The Yellow Room offers a calm and quiet atmosphere in a safe neighborhood. Perfect for medical professionals and graduate students. Close to University of Iowa schools and hospitals. Free street parking is strict to the two spaces directly in front of the home in addition to the single space in the driveway.

The Boulder Abode is located just 8 minutes from both downtown Des Moines and the airport on a street just off of the main highway leading to downtown.

Even though the house is shared, you have as much privacy and quietness as you want. My dog and I are pretty quiet and frequently gone. We are close to many excellent restaurants downtown. Ask for recs!

I do have a dog but she isn't allowed in your space. She minds her own business on the main level and keeps the mailman on his toes.

The space
Your room is located on the second level with a lockable door separating the 2 levels. In your space, you will find your own private room with a large walk-in closet, a dresser, a desk/workspace, a private bathroom, and a private living room with a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker.

Guest access
You will have your own private room, bathroom, and living room upstairs. The kitchen is shared on the main floor and laundry is located in the basement. You will also have full access to the driveway without having to worry about being blocked in.

During your stay
I'll be available for help either in person or through the app. Any maintenance or special requests will need to go through the Airbnb app to ensure I have a record of it.

Other things to note
You will receive a starter pack of essentials when you first arrive (toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, etc.) but after that, you are on your own except in the case of emergency or other special cases.

A very comfy queen bed, dresser, recliner, small fridge, 32” smart TVs, desk/table & closet are in this room in our home! There is a discount built in for long term guests. it’s 10% for a week and 30% for a month or longer. You will feel at home here, with the use of the kitchen & front and back porches to relax. We do allow a small dog or cat, if they are well podie trained and don’t bark too much. Please let us know ahead of time if you want to bring a pet. Park in the street.

Designed for those guests whose needs are simple, these two connected sleeping rooms are clean, private and super economical. There is no full kitchen but a fridge and small appliances. There is a 3/4 bathroom used only by this unit, but it is across the common hall and not inside the unit. This unit can sleep up to three single persons, there are 3 beds in two bedrooms. Coin op laundry in basement, elevator, 24/7 surveillance cameras in common areas.

Originally built as a bank, this building has been converted to both short term and long term stays.

The city does not allow overnight parking on the downtown streets, but there are two municipal lots a block away from this building.
