- "We really enjoyed our stay! Jonny is an easy host to communicate with and made sure we had all the information we needed. The listing and photos were representative of the cottage and property - though both indoors and out is more spacious than they appear. The dock area is a great place to soak up some sun in the afternoon and the kids enjoyed the boats and lily pad. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen had all we needed and there were good board game and dvd collections in case of rainy days. Nice mix of sun and shade options outside. We had room to play badminton and volleyball on the front yard (non lake side). The gradual entry to the water was great for kayaks (provided) and the sups and canoe we brought. Also great for the dog and would be great for anyone with young kids. Our kids (10/12) had lots of fun but wished the water was deeper off the dock. Still, we wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend the property for those with young kids, seniors, and absolutely anyone who would enjoy fishing on the big, beautiful Lake Tomiko. This is a great spot for kids, parents and grandparents to relax and play together. Adventurers - we had a great canoe/SUP adventure up the nearby Tomiko river. So beautiful! A few easy lift-overs, most of which we paddled on the way downstream. We made it to the foot of a series of rapids that would make a great picnic spot (leave no trace!) Saw MANY beavers, two huge snapping turtles, and some deer and wolf tracks."

The wonderful four-season windowed+screened front porch is a great spot to spend an early morning or late evening in the warmer months.

The galley kitchen has been updated and is completely equipped with everything you'll require to cook and entertain during your stay, down to the spices in the cupboard and the ample storage for your own pantry goods. The dining table comfortably seats 4 directly off the kitchen.

The home is on an artisan well, which has a UV filter and is drinkable. A Brita water dispenser is available for your use in the fridge. The home is equipped with a natural gas furnace, and central air conditioning. In-home Washer and Dryer are also available for extended stays.

Outside the yard is level. A BBQ has been provided on the front deck for your use and a brick patio with chairs, bonfire pit and picnic table can be found outback.

Yard games are available in the sunroom for your use.

One thing, if you’re here for a beach vacation, be prepared to drive to get there. I assumed the beach was at the end of the street but that’s private property and you have to walk over to the next street to access a public beach. You might also want to hit a beach on Eagle Lake, around 20 minutes away."

Gorgeous pine cottage and separate pine cabin on Wolfe Lake, 3 hours north Toronto and 30min south of North Bay, with over 600 feet of lakefront. Equipped with 3 bedrooms main cottage with 2 full bathrooms, and furnished separate cabin with additional double bunk bed. With over 600 feet of very private waterfront, no immediate neighbours, there are lots of options. Hang out on one of the docks, chill on the beach, hang out on the water front deck, in the beautiful gazebo, or just unwind in one of the hammocks. The lake also has fantastic fishing for pickerel and small mouth bass. It is this unique and stunning property that brings visitors back every year. Escaping back to nature, enjoying the private serenity and wildlife is really what this cottage is all about.

This gorgeous and spacious cottage sits on a property surrounded by trees and looks down a small hill to a dock and sundeck right on the lake. You can dock your boat and sea-doos or just spend time jumping or fishing off the dock and soaking up the rays on the lakeside deck. You will be visited by families of ducks during the day and in the evening can build a campfire and enjoy the quiet. This cottage can accommodate 2 families with privacy or has plenty of room for a group of friends to create amazing memories. It has a full kitchen, 1 full bathroom and second bathroom with a roomy shower, along with all the extras you could need like sunroom, bbq, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

There is a free boat launch 5 minutes up the road. The town of Astorville
has a perfect little grocery store where you can get your groceries, ice, cocktails, beer, gas, movies etc. Within 20 minutes you can be in North Bay or 30 minutes to the kiosk in Algonquin Park.

Spending time on Lake Nosbonsing will feed your soul and give you long lasting memories like it does our family and will leave you wanting one more day.

PS Our rentals are Saturday to Saturday. Rates based up to 4 people or one family. Add $125 per additional adult per stay. Weekend rentals by request in off season/weekly rentals from mid May to mid Sept.

- "The property has a lot of great amenities. The dock is beautiful and the beach is nice too. The view is lovely as well. Cabins are good, basic but have the necessities. Beds are very comfortable. The Vrbo listing does not provide a lot of detail. Signing a contract will be required with many additional stipulations. Firewood must be purchased on site at a cost of $13.50 per small bag. Communication with owners could have been better. Poor communication led to a very unprofessional outburst by owner in the last day which left a very bad taste."

As you make your way up the quarter mile driveway, you will notice it is shared partway and then divides into two private drives. Please stay to the left all the way. Keep your eyes open, on your left hand side, you may often see the many deer, ducks, or swans that visit our pond. As a caution, drive slowly at dusk as there are plenty of deer in the area.

Upon arriving at Grandview, you will be welcomed by our sandy recreation area for hours of badminton, volleyball, and horseshoes along with a grassy area for ring toss and other family outdoor games. Overlooking the bay is a large fire pit with a fantastic view, plenty of seating, and firesticks for hotdogs and smores. There is also a multi person tree swing, outdoor eating area, BBQ and more.

Entering the cottage, you will be immediately drawn to the vast expanse of windows showcasing our grand view. On your way to explore, you will be forgiven for passing by the newly renovated bathroom with its granite vessel sink and luxury pressure-balanced shower panel featuring a rain shower head, waterfall head, hand held attachment, and 5 body jets. If a soaking bath is more your scene, there is a second bathroom with a beautiful marble sink, wooden bench, and deep soaking tub.

The kitchen is large, bright, and well equipped to cook a variety of meals. from quick and convenient to elegant and gourmet. Enjoy your culinary efforts in the large dining room which boasts a large 8 person harvest table and spectacular views of both the lake and the bay. Off the dining room and primary bedroom, there are sliding doors onto the expansive deck which runs the length of the cottage. Enjoy a cocktail stretched out on the lounge chairs or be more social on the rattan outdoor living room set....or both, the choice is yours.

The vast great room offers panoramic views of the lake and bay. The wall of windows ensures you can sit comfortably in one of the two reclining sofas or either of the reclining chairs and watch the renowned Lake Nipissing sunsets. Once the sun sets, pull up the leg rests and watch satellite tv, stream a movie on the 75 inch smart flat screen, or open up the drawers underneath and discover the array of cards,dice, puzzles, and board games.

All the bedrooms feature new luxury hybrid mattresses, new crisp white linens, plenty of pillows, plush duvets, quilts, and remote controlled ceiling fans. The primary bedroom features a king size bed with storage, flat screen tv, workstation/makeup prep, and private deck access. Lying in bed you can watch the hummingbirds fight over sweet nectar and if you are an early riser, watch the sunrise from the luxury of bed. The corner bedroom features two queen beds and a generous size closet. The third bedroom offers more flexibility with 2 XL twin beds to comfortably fit an adult in each or use the conversion kit to convert into a second king size bed.

Having the "grandest view" on the lake comes with some compromises. This means unfortunately our lot isn't level, there are drop offs at various points on the property. The walk down to the lake involves a steeper gravel drive and then some stairs to reach the waterfront, but don't worry, there is no surcharge for the cardio workout coming back up. Please pack appropriate shoes knowing the terrain. Down at the waterfront, there is plenty of room for your boats and PWC, along with the canoe, paddle boat, and kayak that comes with the cottage. There are some life jackets and safety kits in the dock shed however there are no guarantees on size and fit. Callander has two free public boat launches, beaches, parks, and splashpads just minutes away for your convenience.

Given the terrain of the property, ranging from the ponds, valleys, drop offs, and of course the lake, children must be supervised at all times and unfortunately it is not the property for those having accessibility concerns and/or issues.

-breaker for water pump and water heater will be OFF
-breaker panel is in the cupboard in 2nd small bedroom (lift the cabinet door up and use the plastic latch to open the electrical panel, then turn on the breakers labeled "water heater" and "well pump" which are marked with green tape)
-breaker for baseboard heaters will be on and heaters on low/medium (turn them up to warm up as needed)
-please turn the breakers for the water heater and well pump OFF before you leave
-please leave both baseboard heaters on medium before you leave (to prevent frozen pipes)
-instructions for fireplace are taped to the wall near the fireplace
-let the indoor fireplace die down before going to bed or it will be too hot for sleeping, especially in the loft area

Things to bring:
-drinking water (cottage is on a well so it is fine for showering and cooking but we don’t drink it); there is a water cooler that will fit any standard water jug
-firewood (we cannot guarantee firewood will be available; wood can be found around the property but we advise guests to bring some; wood can be purchased at the Eagle Lake Country Store which is 25 mins away)
-bed linens like sheets (queen x 1, twin x 4), pillows and pillow cases (each bed has a duvet with duvet cover on it)
-bath towels, beach towels, hand towels, dish cloths, tea towels, towels for wiping dog paws
-dog bed/blanket if you are bringing dog
-toilet paper
-paper towels
-boots or closed toe shoes (some areas can get very muddy/sinking if there is recent rain

-the main dock is in the water from beginning of June to mid-October (if you visit the cottage late-October to May the dock will NOT be in the water for these months)
-sections of the driveway are on an incline, so it is recommended to park at the top of the driveway in the winter months, especially if you do not have snow tires or 4 wheel drive
-kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc.
-garbage, recycle and kitchen bags are in the storage/water closet
-garbage/recycling *MUST* be taken home as we haven’t gotten the card yet for bringing garbage to the local dump
-BBQ lighters are in the red container beside fireplace, and in the white cabinet beside the front door there is a tin with matches
-full size propane BBQ (propane provided) and full size charcoal BBQ (bring charcoal) are available
-closest grocery store is in Sundridge or South River
-Eagle Lake (25 mins away) offers both Summer and Winter recreation, and also has a General Store

Our lake house is located off of Hwy 11 in the small community of Callander, Only 3 hrs away from Toronto, 1 hr 40mins from Parry Sound and 30 mins from North Bay, central to everything cottage country has to offer!

There are 3 Bedrooms; 1 on the main floor (Queen bed) , 2 on the upper level (Master: Queen Bed & 2nd Room: 1 Double Bunk bed) as well as a a bunk room in the basement ( 2 Queens beds), and can accommodate 8-12 guests.

A wood burning stove will keep you cozy on chilly nights

A child-friendly Sandy beach for all to enjoy!

Welcome to Deer Crossing cottage located on beautiful Lake Nosbonsing . Our 3 bedroom cottage will provide you with all the comforts of home while enjoying a waterfront log cabin in the woods.

The space
Snowmobilers will enjoy this fabulous cottage. Ample parking for a truck and trailer, close to the vast trail system in the North Bay area with many lookouts on groomed trails. Enjoy the evening playing pool while watching the game on tv.
In the summer enjoy the gently sloped lawn to the sandy swimming area. Excellent for children to play in the water. Canoe and a pedal boat provided for additional water fun. We have 5 kayaks (3 adult kayaks and 2 kids kayaks). For family fun. In the evening, kick back in a comfy chair on the deck and enjoy a beautiful sunset. Fire pit also available for a campfire near the water .

Guest access
Guests are invited to use the entire cottage. Please be mindful that at the back of the cottage is our septic system and we ask that all snowmobiles and traffic refrain from going to that side of the cottage. “No snowmobile” signs are posted for reminders not to go on that side of the cottage.

Fishing: packed full of walleye, northern pike, muskellunge, pickerel, small and large mouth bass and yellow perch. Lake Nosbonsing offers an exciting fishing experience.

The Guest Cottage Retreat in Callander Bay is beautiful year round. Super location for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. There is a canoe, and two single person kayaks to use on site. There are many hiking and walking trails in and around Callander and North Bay. Great area for cycling with cycling lanes on the highway a few minutes away. We are on site, should you need anything. The space
A beautiful retreat with many gardens, birdwatching and great fishing on Callander Bay. This property has lake access to Lake Nipissing and is located in Callander, Ontario. It sleeps four comfortably with a queen and one single bed upstairs, and an additional queen bed downstairs. All bed frames and all bedding has been replaced with new linens, comforters pillows and mattress covers in fall 2024. There is also a new cot if needed. Many upgrades in the kitchen as well with new appliances and new cabinets, fall 2024. The washroom is located upstairs and has a walk in shower. There is use of the dock, but rental does not include a boat. It does include a canoe and two kayaks. We will provide life jackets. Cottage has a nice deck with a gas BBQ. See photos.

Guests have access to their own parking, plenty of space around the yard and gardens. Use of dock. There is a firepit located on the creek near the dock. All are welcome to visit the gardens!

Beaches are in Callander or on the lake as we are lake access with no beach. We are located on a creek with the lake view in site. Cycling lanes on the highway are a few minutes away.

The bathroom features a tub/shower combo and double vanity for extra space. All towels, linens and eco friendly locally sourced bath products provided.

This cottage features parking for 2 regular sized vehicles. Larger vehicles such as extended cabs on large trucks may not fit so please inquire.

The tv is a 50” LG smart tv with Bluetooth capability with a Bose bar speaker with optimizing voice sound. We subscribe to Netflix, Prime, and internet based tv channels. We do not have cable. You can stream from your phone to the tv and also use your own wireless headphones or earbuds.

Our wifi is super fast at 617 Mbps and reliable. Multiple people can be on video calls or gaming at the same time.

Nestled on a cozy quiet lane three minutes from Hwy 11 and the Lakeshore exit, the River Haus offers a peaceful country setting on Lavase River. Enjoy kayaking or canoeing to Lake Nipissing, with equipment available for use. Snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing are nearby. Wildlife sightings are common year-round. Access the Trans Canada trail 0.8 kms away for walking, hiking or biking.

Note that hosts occupy a separate downstairs unit but afford you total privacy, as noted often in our reviews. Having said that, this is not the place for loud disruptive alcohol fuelled nights. You will enjoy the quiet peacefulness of our location.

Overnight guests shall not exceed the number of registered guests.

Visiting unregistered guests are not permitted use of the amenities without prior approval.

We have two small dogs in the downstairs apartment. We do not let them bark and they will not access guest areas or have interactions with guests.

Pets are not allowed and we appreciate guests not bringing any animals to the property. Our two 10lbs miniature pinschers on the property are very quiet but do not take well to the scent of other animals outside, causing them distress and in turn, disturbs our own peaceful state. Unfortunately we would have to turn you away if you arrive with an animal and we will hold to our cancellation policy for breaking the rules. There are other pet-friendly accommodations nearby.

No smoking of any kind is allowed in the apartment or near open doors or windows. Do not smoke in the hot tub. Do not throw butts on the ground. Use the receptacle(s) provided.

Read the instructions on how to use the hot tub cover lift and hot tub to avoid damage. There are stairs to descend to access the hot tub and two steps up to get in.

Be mindful while in the hot tub that voices carry over the sound of the jets and we respectfully ask our guests to enjoy the serenity and not to disturb the neighbours with loud music or yelling. The hot tub is available for use at all times day or night as long as guests are mindful of this.

The single bed noted on our listing is a foldable single cot which will be set up in the living room. If not required, we remove it from the apartment.

Often we block off dates in our calendar for potential stays with return guests so we may have more availability than shown. Please inquire if interested in any dates not showing available.

We have put a great deal of love and care into our cottage and are so happy to be sharing it with you; you might just leave a piece of your heart here. The property extends over 17,500 sq. feet, with 66 feet of shoreline, a dock that extends into the water, and a sun-deck near the shore, steps from the fire pit.

Getting here:
- if you don't want to drive, you can always catch the Ontario Northland bus from convenient locations in major cities. It will drop you off at and pick you up from a stop that's 2 mins. walk from the cottage.

The lake is:
- clean, free of rocks and weed. White clay bottom.
- shallow for nearly half a kilometre, after which it gets deep. Perfect for all!
- great for water sports and boating (kayaks and canoes available for rent within 10 mins. from the cottage; public dock just 2 mins. from the cottage).
- a great spot for fishing (we've got Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, and others).
- frozen in the winters for some pick up hockey, ice skating and ice fishing

The fire pit is:
- large, surrounded by several muskoka chairs and benches.

The hot tub:
- is located on one of the three patios.
- comfortably fits 8 people.
- has mosquito protective netting.
- is beautifully lit with string lights.

Patio 1 has:
- the hot tub.
- an outdoor sofa set.

Patio 2 has:
- the BBQ.
- an outdoor dining set with umbrella.
- string lights for beautiful ambiance.
- heater for those cooler months.

Patio 3:
- is attached to the primary bedroom, serving as a private balcony.

All patios are lake facing.

Outdoor fun activities included:
Summer:
- 8 inflatable floaties.
- inflatable floating bar to fill with ice and drinks, and take onto the lake.
- inflatable floating volleyball net and volleyball for the lake.
- volleyball for land.
- soccer ball.
- bocce ball.
- badminton.
- giant Throw Throw Burrito

Winter:
- ice skating
- pick up hockey
- ice fishing
- dog sledding

The indoor living space has:
- AC, heating and ceiling fans
- 3 bedrooms, 4 queen beds and 2 bathrooms.
- 2 living rooms, one with tv.
- WIFI.
- a dedicated workspace.
- a jacuzzi.
- a large dining table with leaf extensions to comfortably seat 10 people.
- new large kitchen.
- games and books for entertainment.
- a fireplace.

Please be advised that occasionally a train passes by through the town. We like to think it's the Polar Express. 

Within 5 mins. of walking distance, you have access to:
- the grocery store, Foodland.
- the LCBO.

Check out the guestbook for local attractions! Some highlights include, a great lookout point, walking distance from a quaint waterfront restaurant, waterfront park with splash pad for kids, and the Ridge Golf Club.

Other things to note
Please note:
- guests to bring firewood and potable water (we have a water dispenser if you want to bring jugs of water instead of cases of water bottles)
- be mindful of noise outside after 11PM, as per by-laws
- handle the wicker chairs with great care
- guests to kindly take garbage and recycling with them.
- pets not allowed on beds and furniture.
- if the hot tub is found dirty or cloudy post visit, a $300 charge will added to your stay
