- "Great place to stay for quiet evenings! " - "Cross creek still has the flavor of Old Florida. My wife and I went there for our 25th anniversary and were not disappointed. We visited Payne's Prairie State Park and were able to observe the wild Cracker ponies through binoculars from the observation tower. The property has a boat ramp into Cross Creek which I believe connects to Orange Lake and Lake Lochloosa. I would bring a boat if I were staying longer. We brought our two Labrador retrievers that travel with us everywhere. We would have liked to try the Yearling Restaurant but it was closed for sub kitchen floor plumbing repairs. The owner of the property was very friendly and even with the stress of repairs in progress, he gave us a tour of the restaurant and shared it's history. We intended to visit the home of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings who wrote the book "The Yearling" but only got to drive by due to time constraints. We also drove through historic Micanopy and both the commercial and housing districts had a charming appeal and several antique shops. We will likely revisit and try to take advantage of everything the area has to offer. We will stay in the "Yearling Cabins". "

The cabin is beautiful and super clean! It’s a 14x28 shed that I had made in to a 5 star getaway! It's so peaceful and quiet you really get a good nights rest! You can walk the Peace Path around the property which consists of 5 acres behind a private gate. No one can get in without a code which provides safety and privacy. The white linens are always fresh and allergy free. this Cabin has a huge balcony to see and enjoy the views of nature. Glamping? You have hot water, a huge shower in the cabin and a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave. No range or oven.

You can enjoy the entire 5 acres. There is a peace you can feel as you walk through the Palms. Relax on the deck and overlook the natural beauty that surrounds us. Absolutely No pets (which includes emotional support animals) or children under 12. The trees are dangerous to touch so just adore their beauty from a distance. We have a free library by the waterfall we invite you to grab a book and relax while listening to the waterfall. Enter the resort through a privacy gate and there are only 2 more cabins. This is a small residential neighborhood and letting the residents enjoy the peace and quiet of the river is important to us. If you park in the street your car will be towed. Also do not leave on exterior flood lights as they are very bright and keep the neighbors up.

Check out is 10:00am sharp unless previous arrangements are made. At 10:05am the housekeeper will polite remind you and beginning clean.

Any guests exceeding the reservation will be asked to leave unless approval is agreed on. Any tampering with the smart device around the house is against house rule and subject for an early departure. Partiers will be shut down and evicted with no refund.

The property is semi secluded but to be respectful to neighbors quiet time is 10pm.

Absolutely NO SMOKING/VAPING is allowed INSIDE THE HOUSE but is permitted in designated area on deck as long as cigarette buds are discarded properly.

No guest/visitors are allowed past the number of guest the reservation is made for unless prior approval is made. Any extra guests will be asked to be removed.

This is a stand alone cottage. It is smartly decorated with a southwest theme. We are located on 4 relaxing beautiful acres with horses and plenty of quiet country ambiance. A continental breakfast is included.

The cottage that you will be staying in is detached from the main house (located about 100 ft from the main house).

We follow the Cdcs sanitation recommendations and clean and disinfect your room with hospital grade disinfectant.

We have 3 other separate listings on the same property: The Tropical master suite, Scallop Room and the Manatee room located

The cottage has its own private bath with its own 30 gal hot water heater. The cottage is located inside a fenced yard. This fenced yard where the cottage is located. It is very secluded, private, and quiet with 15 ft tall hedges. We also have a nice sitting area outside with a swing facing the garden and horse pasture area.

We are not a hotel be we run our “bnb” like a hotel. We are passionate about what we do and how we do it. For those staying more than 1 night, after you leave for the day we make the bed, empty the trash, restock the refrigerator and make sure you have fresh towels.

Please, if you have any complaints, comments, or suggestions, do not hesitate to let us know. We are available all the time. If there is an issue we need to hear about, let us know so we can remedy the situation immediately. We want to have the opportunity to fix the issue rather than hear about it in a review. Our guests love interacting with our horses (our two geldings love meeting new people and especially those with carrots).

We are always available. We will do our best to help in any way to make your visit to our area as enjoyable as possible. We do enjoy socializing with our guests but if you prefer privacy, just ask, we won't be offended.

We are 2.6 miles from Walmart with a Circle-k gas station right on the corner. There are a variety of restaurants close by as well as many things to do while you are in the area. Some of the local activities are: the Homosassa wildlife park, swimming with the manatees, scalloping, fishing, kayaking, and many more fun things to do.


We do have 2 medium / large dogs, 1 small dog, 2 barn cats, and 2 horses living on the property. The dogs are kept in the house while guests ae walking about the property.

So sorry, no pets allowed. We strive to keep our place allergen free for those guests that have sensitivities.

There are no cooking facilities in the cottage although there is a small refrigerator and coffee maker.

We have 3 listings located in our guesthouse (which is on a different part of the property): The Manatee Room, Scallop Room, and Tropical Master Suite (all under Pleasant Days). These rooms each have their own theme similar to the Cottage.

The Tropical Master Suite comes with a private bath and a large living room. The Manatee room and Scallop room share a bathroom (disinfectant is provided). The rooms share common areas such as the kitchen, dining room, living room and a deck. Off the deck there is a picnic table, and a propane grill.

The kitchen in our guest house (and only the guest house as this unit does not have cooking facilities) is equipped with a full-size side-by-side refrigerator, microwave, toaster, skillet, Keurig machine (for coffee and Tee), and a George Foreman Grill. Dishes, silverware, and cups are provided (please clean up after yourselves).

Due to insurance purposes, we require all persons coming on the property to sign a Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk - one per person.

Welcome to Timakwa - a 1960's fish camp turned lakeside retreat. Located on the western shores of Orange Lake, once the serene habitat of the Timucuan tribe known as the Potano. Teaming with historic wildlife, including wild turkeys, deer, soaring eagles, gators, Orange Lake is a popular destination for bass fishing and bird watching.

The Ahaya, meaning "cowkeeper" overlooks an old cattle ranch and is the largest of our studio cabins, equipped with a kitchenette and a private bathroom. This idyllic cabin recalls unique elements of Orange Lake's Spanish & Seminole history.

Timakwa also boasts a 3- story treehouse, lighted boat ramp, common areas, outdoor showers & laundry services upon request.
