- "We had a great stay at Oderen. The house is perfectly clean and in perfect shape. The hosts are very friendly and even understood my poor French. The house itself is easy to find and sits above the village of Oderen. Your morning bread isn't too far away and the village has an excellent Auberge which we used both at lunchtime and at night. A really good Super U is in Fellering, which is less than a 10 min drive away. The hosts Jean-Paul and Josseline are lovely. They stay in the house next door but the design of the rental property provides separate space and privacy, with the advantage of having friendly and knowledgeable hosts next door. We are keen hikers and the property is right in the centre of countless stunning walks. That said, mountain and road cycling is popular in the area and the nearby lake attracted many kayaker and paddle boarders. Colmar and Eguisheim are 'must visit' places. We have been holidaying in France (using rental properties) for a long time and I can recommend this property and area wholeheartedly. 10/10."

Located in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges, at 450 meters above sea level, our elegant cottage is an islet of rest and the ideal starting point for a multitude of sports activities of open air.

Our rental is located in a wooden chalet thought and built in 2012 by the owners 100%. All wood from our valley, this cottage is respectful of nature being a building low consumption (BBC). The furniture is family made from an ash tree that stood on the property.

In summer, our cottage is the starting point for many family walks or hikes, including the famous GR7. You can also safely practice cycling and rollerblading on the cycle path within 100 meters (bike path of about 40 km).

In the air, you will also admire our mountains from the paragliders.
If you want a calmer holiday, you can stay in the cottage and take advantage of its largeterraceand the owners heated outdoor swimming pool left at your disposal of May to October (under conditions), at less than 100 meters.

In winter, the Vosges mountains invite you to share its festivals of cross-country skis, alpine skis, torchlight descents, not forgetting the toboggan runs for the little ones. The cycle tracks, every winter, turns into a cross-country ski trail that you can reach directly by putting on your skis.

Even though France was going through a heat wave the temperature here was 70 during the day and 50 at night degrees Fahrenheit or 20 and 11 degrees centigrade. The Boulangerie and supermarket were both close by within 2 km and we enjoyed walking to both for our daily fresh food purchases. The shower with multiple body jets felt like pure luxury at the end of a cold winter’s day. What better way to wake up in the morning to the view of the mountains and having breakfast on the sunbathed veranda. Bus and trains stops are 2 minutes walk from the chalet and offer very good connections to all major ski lifts in the valley and Chamonix town. It was the perfect combination of staying in quiet, undisturbed and natural surroundings, yet being able to enjoy the vibe of Chamonix centre as well as having access to all other areas of the Chamonix valley.
