You have many options while you work the kinks out of your mind and body; sleep in, no one will notice, have breakfast at 11am, sit outside and get some sun, listen to the wind chimes, read a good book, watch a good movie, play some soothing music on the Balmy drum or color in a coloring book.
The casita is decorated in soft, peaceful greens and grays and has everything you need. The living room is furnished with a full-size couch and a large screen tv with internet. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator and stove and is stocked with pots and pans, silverware and utensils, coffee maker and a teapot. There is a microwave, dishes and linens. The queen size bed is all made up for you with linens and fluffy pillows. The bathroom features a full-size tub/shower, and all the linens are included.
Outside on the spacious deck, you can watch the birds and feel the cool breeze, play Jenga or cards or read a book. There is also an additional sitting area nestled in the trees with bird feeders all around for the local finches and hummingbirds to provide entertainment for you. We always want to be fire safe, so we have a gas fire pit ready for you to enjoy when the sun goes down.
Friendly, non-aggressive dogs are welcome to come and relax, too. We have a 2 dog, 50 lb. weight limit and a one-time $50 pet fee. We do require that you notify us in advance that you are bringing your pet so that we can make arrangements to make sure they have a comfortable stay, too!

The studio provides ample privacy. If you’re driving, park your car in the driveway or on the street. This area is full of the classic post WWII starter homes in a well established neighborhood. The square footage of the studio space is about 300 feet. It’s ideal for stays for 1-2 people. If a guest needs space to work too, there is a desk and high speed fiber optic internet with wifi. Pets are welcome with a small fee for additional cleaning. La Madera Park, is 1/2 a block away.

The space
This space has energy star windows which provide full privacy and comfort in the hot desert climate. A skylight adds natural light. The ceilings are vaulted and give a more spacious feeling to the living areas.

There are storage cabinets with two shelves and a nice sized closet in the hallway. A separate entrance on the east side up the driveway where you can park provides you personal space. The studio has a 6 foot fence and corrugated metal gate that can be latched on both sides for
your security and to have outdoor space for your dogs.

The common space is the front yard. It offers the ambiance of the mid-20th century aesthetic. It’s solar powered and natural gas water heat. The property is smoke-free.

The neighborhood is generally quiet and serene due to the fact that there are not any through-streets as they end at La Madera Park. The park is a grassy area popular with the community.

Make sure that you look at the photos and comments for additional information. You may hear my dogs bark or Neighbors’ dogs may bark at times. There is an HP air filter that also serves as white noise if you require no unexpected noises.

The property is smoke free. If a guest damages the studio with smoke, the $100 deposit will be forfeited in order to pay for damage repairs. Smoke damage is expensive and may lead to additional costs.

All bedding, towels and linens are washed in fragrance free dye free detergents. The use of aerosol sprays with fragrances are not used as well as any chemically enhanced fragrances due to owner's chemical sensitivities and to be mindful of guests well-being too. There is also no air conditioning. We mitigate this by opening windows at night and closing them during the day. Day and night in a mountain town can vary by 30-40 degrees. We often see temps in the 80’s on Summer days and 40 degree nights.

In that Winter months, you’re limited to one driveway parking space. In the Summer months, street parking is available.

We have no reliable wireless internet for guest access.

Here at the Double H Hacienda you will find a cozy and charming detached guest house with private entrances, plenty of parking (covered available). Plenty of natural light and a design that is all its own - where modern farmhouse meets the desert. It comes stocked with all the amenities you could desire including in-unit laundry and kitchen. Beautiful 360 degree views of the mountains and Tucson's breathtaking sunsets from anywhere on the property. Equine Experiences available for all guests!

The space
The Double H Hacienda is located on 4.5 acres. We live in the Main House*, therefore if you need anything we are available onsite!

The pool & spa are maintained year-round. The pool can be heated for a small fee per request. The spa can be heated at any time without any charge. We'll be sharing the property so you might see us working in the garden or hanging out in the pool (fully fenced) and you're more than welcome to join or request it for private use. This space is suitable for children and offers playground equipment, a trampoline and children's zipline. Plenty of shade among the citrus groves to step out and enjoy our desert oasis.

Guests access through the gated property via a keypad and parking is plentiful at no charge.

Other things to note
A daily pet fee of $10 per pet is applicable when requesting to bring pets along on your stay - please message us for further details on the pet policy. We have dogs of our own and request that only friendly, potty trained and well-behaved pets are brought on the property.

Equine Experiences with our horses are available upon request (all ages and skill level). Inquire and host will send detailed information.

Depending on the ambient air temperature in the colder months, the pool takes between 3 and 4 hours to heat. There is a propane surcharge of $45 per day for heating the pool. The hot tub takes about 30 minutes to heat and there is no extra charge for heating the hot tub.
